90+ calipers on 95+ LS400?
after reading yokotas13 write up on successfully swapping suspensions from two totally different cars but using the same brake caliper...will any of the 1st gen LS400 calipers work on the 2nd gen LS400...specifically the 95-97 LS?

Id like to know this as well. Id consider sacrificing some braking power to be able to fit low disc wheels in the front.

hey dennis, i was at the junk yard the other day and they had about 3 ucf11's there, 2 with stock air. anyways all of them had the front suspension still intact. just from looking at it, im sure if you took the whole knuckle/spindle assembly with the brakes, it would work. im guessing the junk yard would charge like $30 for the parts (?). i wouldve picked them up right then and there but i dont own a ucf20....
damn man, i still gotta swing by and pick up that grill... hahaha

WHY would you do that? They put bigger brakes on for a reason.

why wouldn't i want to do that? lower offsets and deeper lips outweigh the benefits of having better brake response and shorter stopping distance...its not like you can't stop with smaller brakes...

That's not the point. Point is, smaller brakes=more stopping distance, and more chances in emergency braking for your brakes to fail due to them being to small to handle the weight of the car.
If you want to do it, be my guest. Sell me your brakes for cheap too. LOL jk.

Most people here are running way beyond stock alignment specs for camber let alone with super stretched tires, which of course in most cases isnt gonna help things like traction and braking distance. Cmon now, this isnt club lexus.:pat::shrug:

I'm sure they would bolt on. Good idea for extra lip!
Just add some quality brake pads when you swap and your good to go.

i got a ucf1X, and it stops very well. sure the ucf2X is a bit bigger but ucf1X brake would stop it do doubt. plus too, the GS is just as big as a 95+ LS and the brake on the GS look just as big as the brakes on a ucf1X. i would do it if i had a ucf20 and wanted to run some dished out rims in the front....

Its also a lot easier getting used wheels as well.
