a crazy vip experience

I’ve been on this vip tip since my first japan tour back in 1998.  Spent 3 years overall in Asia and have always been fascinated with the VIPcar/style concept.

Making a long story short, I was back in north jersey this past October and was staying at my folk’s place.  We were staying in a rental while the other house was being renovated.  

Anyways, I was coming home one day and took another route.  While passing by, I saw this 98 blue GS VIP out with Junction Produce stickers and High Society written on the rear side vent windows.  Ring a bell?

So, I drove back to my house which was literally one block away and got my camera.  I came back to the scene and was all of a sudden back in Japan mode taking pics of all vip cars- (will scan and post the 1998-2001 pics later)

I couldn’t believe it, being in South Florida, you don’t come by too many traditional vip cars too often and so I was amazed.  I started taking pictures and something told me to go inside and meet with the owner.  I rang the bell and who do you know came out, Johnny Oddo of High Society.  

I was like, hey what up buddy- me and Johnny went to high school together at Old Tappan.  I remember when he skipped school to get us the Nas tape “Illmatic” when it first came out on a Tuesday April 19, 1994.  Those were the good old days…. 

And there, we just chatted and he told me the whole story of how he became a North American Rep for Junction Produce.

Did he offer you a beer :)  Johnny's ride is definately an eye catcher its gonna be a different car by the summer though.

I've only talked to Johnny online and he's a friendly and funny guy. His car is beautiful too.

you are right.. his car is nice and after moving to orlando fl i havent seen any car viped here..

lol!! But you know whats funny though, I always caught him when he was eating.....  Always came out to greet me with something in his mouth...  Last time it was a bagel...

And to think of it, he did not offer me a beer, let alone a warm hot cocoa...lol  

I'll see him down here for HIN on sat so he'll make right....

Suprisingly, I still have never seen his car and he is not that far from me.  Everytime that car is at a CL meet, im never there.  I look foward to seeing it (new look or old) by next spring/summer.  :biggthumpup:

yo man nice car. what size rims are they and what suspension set up? if you dont mind asking. air ride or just coilovers?
