chrome door handles... yay or nay??

btw... this is not my car... i think the chrome verticle pilar things are kinda yuck...

i was thinkin of gettin the chrome handle overlays and puttin on my maxima which is black... suggestions please.

my suggestion would be to work on other aspects of the car before doing something like that.

some pics from further away would help decide.

I don't know about the chrome handle VIP style. This has got to grow on me. I've always thought that chrome handles look too "bling, dub spinners" and now VIP style says its a good thing...like i said, It'll have to grow on me. If that's what you like I'd say go for it.

I've had chrome handles for a very long time now.. Since we put this car together. I thought I would hate it, but it grew on me very quickly. Just as long as the chrome isn't overdone IMO it will be fine.

Yea it grew on me too. Ive had my handles on now for about 4 months now and now a bunch of a Scion Owners have them on now too. :P

John, the handles look good on the GS...

I like them on all color cars......... NOT over done in chrome is nice. My car came with them on factory

Get the handles I think they look better then the cover / overlays. For some cars there is no choice of the two. The GS has a black chrome ones that doesnt cost too much more then the regular chrome ones.

those look really nice. too bad i have a box. hahaha. just plain ol chrome for me

daJap has wagon star handles on his box that just cover the part that you pull up and down rather then the full chrome ones from toyota...look pretty nice, i'm still up in the air ???

They look great on any VIP car that has some deep dishes. IMO, if you're still on the stockers, you should wait on the chromy accessories...

good advice, many people nickel and dime themselves out of getting what they really want(wheels). I know I do that sometimes. But also alot of VIP cars come stock with lots of chrome.

They look nice on a GS. I dont know if they would look good on your car. You should try it. IF you dont like it take em off. . .

As said before...

Don't get overlay handles. They look cheap.

V.I.-cheaP is never cool....neither are offsets above 35!

I think that the Maxima would look better without the chrome handles. There aren't many other things more beautiful than a black car.. ;)

chrome door handles go very well with luxury cars as long as the car already has chrome trimmings, it matches to the oem chrome trimmings on the bumper-grille-moldings (lexus LS-GS-infiniti Q45-acura RL). It really depends on the rest of the car.

now throwing the chrome door handles on a civic - corolla is a different story, it would look tacky.

i personally like chrome handles on vip styled cars. but does anyone know where to get chrome handles for the ucf20s? i can only find overlays. any help would be great! thanks guys.

I like them... Question is... are they readily available? Seems to be I remember seeing chrome door handles available in magazines like LOWRIDER. Id like to get them for my Impala once my black trim is painted body color. (Silver) 

I also think its killer to replace the drivers door handle with the lock in it, with the drivers side rear door handle with no lock. All smooth! Just like the passenger side! Just use your remote lock to get in...

Is there a place that would actually make custom ones? The only ones for my car are stick on, as well as the grill ,fog lamp surrounds, taillight trim, mirror covers.............. :tickedoff:

From what i've gathered there are no metal chrome handles. The ones you see in pics of japanese VIP car's are ABS overlays.

and the right color...overall, i'm not a fan...

I ended up getting some for the GS400...I have plans for them though. I'm taking them apart and painting the bezel so just the pull handle is chrome.....

I only like them if the rest of the chrome trim is still there and the color is dark. But the chrome pillars... nah...  ::)

personaly I would go w/ the chrome handels, but not the pillars ...

any word on where to actually get either full chrome or the black chrome handles for UCF20/21?

Chrome side molding definitely need Chrome door handles. So super YAY for me.

Any Junction Produce dealer can get you those for your GS, I just brought some in for a customer of mine.  I personally love just the right amount of chrome.
