Norcal Meet?

So...when is the next Norcal meet?

I don't know, we're trying to plan something. It's not a big group of us here, well, really it's not a big group that actually shows up.

bunch of lurkers up here at the moment, hopefully well put something together soon.  Even just a small little meet up/ photoshoot would be nice.  Any ideas?

I havn't or been to any meet in about 3 years so I have no idea. I'll leave that up to Mike when he gets back haha

Anyways, damn why is everyone trying to setup a meet so far away? I was thinking in the Bay Area :)

Then again I have to drive far regardless, I live in Napa :p

You live in Napa, SiphanRaing and I live in Modesto, brokenabstract in stockton (who should COME TO THIS MEET) Brandon lives in Dublin, Mike in Newark/UC, it's far for all of us. 
 
Besides, where else are we going to go for a beach/bbq shoot? Monterey? Santa Cruz? I don't care, I've only just postulated this. It's not set in stone. Not like everybody will show up (aside from us three who have committed lol) just like last 'meet' and the last jdm theory toy meet, a whole 4 of us showed up (5, but i didn't bring my car) so yeah. Come up with another suggestion though, I just want a BBQ. LOL.

I have a couple ideas for consideration...

first one is right in my backyard its called sybase, its a pretty sick little series of parking structures that arent populated at nighttime.  and the regal hacienda imax is right across the street surrounded by restaurants etc..

the other one would be bay street in emeryville, plenty of chill little spots in there.

HMB, Santa Cruz, a nice park some where in between everybody, Sybase, or that emeryville place. I'm down for whatever, but would prefer a BBQ, rather than everybody meet up, and just be like 'hey. nice car.' and go home lol.

If not HMB, I say Sybase. Depends on how many show up too, we know how it tends to be snowing every time we try to get a meet going.

I think Feb 9th will be perfect too. I'm out of school and I don't have anything to hold me back and the weather should start to get better.

Wow Feb 9 is hella close. I say we push it back further, invite more people and make this bigger. Who says you have to be on VSC to do a meet? :)

Well if it wasn't done by VSC, then it wouldn't be a meet for us. I say it be just a VSC only meet.  I'd push it as a vip car only meet, but we have a few here that are accepted and don't have vip  cars. but yeah, that's another story, for another day. 

Either way, it should only be a vip style car meet, only people from this site should know and show up, and all cars should be related to this site. IE, no drift cars, no honda's, etc.

Push back further and I am sure I can get some more from nor cal cl side ... the Vip styled for sure ..

ahahah thats fine with me...but really last year was the first year in iono.....like 6 years i think that anything was done for me...and it wasnt even done for me last year...i went to a party that was playin beer pong and after everyone got drunk they finally found out from a friend it was my bday....worse and best day of my life at the same time.:pat:

I guess. The whole reasoning behind inviting others is to make VSC and the style more known. If you are a car person, you have to love all cars :)

I'm back. Ughh don't know if its worth it to do a meet yet. Lets worry about getting Norcal up to speed with vipstyled cars first. haha Sybase is my choice since its somewhat in the middle for everyone. Then again a beach/bbq sounds coo.

im down for a sybase meet.....i'll keep checking for a set date.

Sorry guys I am going to pass for now. Someone tried to break into the previa today. Weird?!? Luckily they didn't get in and steal something. They were able to tamper with my passenger side door handle on both the front/sliding door. Key holes taken out and the front has chips/metal taken off. Idiots who don't know how to break into a car.

i am kinda scared to get a previa now, might have to get the flame thower alarm system steven was talking about. that sucks alot. but this way you have a reason to get a new paint job.

Who owns a dropped silver Previa with a Nor*Cal sticker on the rear hatch, as well as a decal on the rear window? I just seen him rollin' on southbound 680 near Montague.

Well yeah Prashant, I think we pretty much decided on Sybase due to the poll. There's the Imax and shopping centers right by there too. Brandon pays all our gas since he lives right next to it! Called it!

EDIT: Just looked at the poll and yes, Sybase is in Dublin. Cool, not too bad of a drive for me, about an hour!

So now the question is, when does everyone want to get together for this meet & greet? We could even do this thing like a monthly or biweekly (or the new word I learned today "fortnightly"). I had no idea that a "fortnight" was 14 days haha.

sybase is in dublin, its literally across the street from the hacienda regal-IMAX theatre, which in turn is right off the hacienda exit on 580, its very easy to find unless your blind or a walrus.

I think for the date sooner is better than later, even if its a flop theres always the rest of the year to have another one.  I just dont want my first meet of the year to be BOS at clublexus haha.

What if one is a blind walrus? I guess you are pretty much screwed huh?

Any weekend will be fine with me except for feb 23rd.. which is my bday.

seems like most people so far are free on most weekends.  the best date so far is probably March 2nd.  lets hear from more people.

mar 2nd is perfect for me.  i think the weather will get a lot better by that time too.

I have no problem with the date, but maybe its a little too soon??  from what experience/ knowledge i have from previous meets ive been a part of, its better to plan several months in advance. Instead of planning this a month from now, does anyone agree maybe closer to summer would be cool? it would give everyone time to get their cars situated, and maybe add some more parts on it. I know we dont have a mad group of guys, but we still have a good bunch. By doing this months from now, it would give more time for everyone to put solid inputs that everyone can agree one.  We could plan everything with a serious mindset instead of a whatever chill day kina thing. Thats just what i think, not sure how you guys feel. feedback. But i am looking foward to meeting all of you guys.

Jon, this is an impromptu chill meet and greet. Whoever comes out comes out. It's not a car meet that is going to get coverage and whatnot. It's not up to Auto Fashion's par. It's just a meet and greet. That's why we plan it only a month in advance. Shoot, we could have a monthly meet out in that area, since it's more central to everybody. HMB or SC would be a more formal meet/bbq/all day thing.

ahhh ok ok. cool, thanks for letting me know that. I wasnt too sure exactly what kind of meet it was so i just wanted to put my input. lol. and i also wanted to dump my car before i meet all of you guys. but it doesnt matter. monster truck or not, i'll come out. cant wait !

The 350Z would be me. I'm in Napa like Lloyd said...which reminds me that I've been meaning to call him back lol.

P.S. It's a stock body, not wide body :) My wheel fitment fools a lot of people into thinking its widebody :p

it will be black and white, i can also take pics of people and get them there own print if they want just ask and it will be free.

I'd like to come out, but I need to get the car smogged. The permit expires the end of this month and the nasty DMV lady said it was my last one....despite being the first time I ever asked for one. If not, maybe I can bum a ride off one of you guys? How about Van, is he going?

When I saw the location, I was like, WTF is Sybase? Reminds me of something out of Terminator. But, I see now that it's across the street from the big Regal plaza, so that's cool.
