S14 to S15 conversions are cool because u cant get them, but its kinda silly if its a car thats readily available here. Its a very cool marketing car, but I like the 'complete' 2GS better
Hmm....Now that's a kit I would buy....I wonder what else is involved besides the kit? headlights, grille, how would the headlights mount to the support?
Beautiful. I like it better than the 3rd gen GS
Wait........ so that's a 2nd gen???? WOW!!! That's trippy!!!! I kept looking at it thinking, Norman your thread title is wrong! That's a 3rd Gen! Hahahaha! Then I looked at the body shap and rear more and then was like wooooooo!

As far as I know, someone from Hawaii bought the kit on site at TAS from Vertex Japan. =P I'm sure we'll see him on VSC in the future.
i had to do a double take. that's a clean conversion.. i'd hit that =)
Here are some more pics regarding the build:
i missed it too. i was like "man thats a clean 3g", then em's post made me go back. i think it looks better than a 3g and as good as a 2g. nice!
IMO it would look better if they intergrated the chrome piping into the front to make it flow better. then again none of the 3GS bodykits have the chrome or lines to make it work. or at least i havent found any. VIPete, how is the hood clearance as far as the windshield goes? i noticed it was removed...

Therefore, for "show quality" they opted to replace the windshield with a brand new one. As far as clearance goes, I'm pretty sure it fits just fine. The kit will include the hood, fenders and front bumper. Still waiting on details however..
I thinks its for more of what I call the "WTF Factor". Just like a few who have posted before me who thought the thread title was misleading at first, I bet people who see something like this in person would be circling from the front to the back to make sure they were seeing things correctly. Me, I personally like the 2nd Gen front a bit better but if I had the a 2nd Gen GS I would consider doing it for the "WTF Factor" and to have something else different from what the one next to me has.
I LOVE THE "WTF FACTOR" makes you unique and far from the norm!
took me a minute too...and I drive one every day. Im WE-TODD-DID sometimes.:smiley-rofl:
crazy..sick conversion
fuckin amazing.
Nice! I like it!
Wow, that looks really good. At first it's a trip but after you take a nice look at it, it doesn't look so bad
Looks good but will it cost as much as the LS460 conversion on the UCF20 LS400?
Do you need to have the radiator support redone? Or did they somehow make this bolt on? I'm very interested...except for the money cost..lol. I do really like this though, and think this is how I'm going to base my build now. thanks for letting us know it's going to be produced? This is really cool.
Looks good but will it cost as much as the LS460 conversion on the UCF20 LS400?
there's such a conversion. would u happen to have a link where i can see it i can't seem to find it. might i add i also was amazed on how i was fooled. i was too busy looking at the bumper and didn't notice it was the whole front end that was changed. looks good but really dont think id do it. i kinda agree with DriftGirl it would be tight if we didnt already get the car here. its like those trucks doing those escalade conversions.

From what I know, this is a complete bolt on kit from the 2G Aristo in Japan (Front Bumper, Fenders and Hood). We have yet to have one for the US model so that remains to be seen. finally a hybrid. price?
I think its pretty freakin awesome looking. I love custom work like that. The problem is that any car that does it from now on... its just a vertex kit. What makes it cool is that its all custom and the first time anybody had seen it done.

But speaking for our Vertex customers: Anyone who has a Vertex kit doesn't see it as "just a vertex kit". Albeit not as original as a custom job, is still unique in it's own right. Custom jobs aren't for everyone but having a readily available option for those who seek this type of look, is essential and cost effective for our customers (vs. doing a custom job). Speaking of cost, prices will be out in the near future. Stay tuned!
saw it in person at TAS and the lines flow and it doesnt look out of place looks like it belongs on the car crazy!
there's such a conversion. would u happen to have a link where i can see it i can't seem to find it.
Actually I wasnt joking but it was in Japan and I read somewhere that the conversion cost like $15,000 (yes your seeing right) It was on a silver car but didnt look as good as this conversion.
WOW they even got the top of the headlight to blend into the fender and flow into the entire bodyline down the side of the car. I'm VERY impressed. Normally i'm the first person to shun stuff like this but now I wanna be next person on the waiting list. Is there a price yet?
Very impressive conversion! At first glance I thought it was a 3rd gen as well.
Widebody, i don't know if was true or not. It was said on this forum that there were companies either producing, or building the conversions, and them being like 15k to get it completed, so it may be that vertex does not make the kit.

Read my previous posts in this thread. Also, it won't cost that much.
my prediction is it will be expensive, but due to the price of the factory hedlights, fogs, and grille
Look at those dolce kits!! This is blowing my mind! Who knew how GOOD that could look! And it's not in a poser way at ALL it kicks ass! Do you guys know how much LS460 tail lights are?? $200 a side! $350 a head light! Come on thats PEANUTS! The kit is $6,500 we'll say after shipping, add $1,500 in parts. It looks GOOD. I hope someone on here does it! EDIT: ok so I thought about it and this is why I think this is so cool: Because unlike a RL with a GS front or a blah blah blah with a blah blah front, this is like... a super update. I mean the cars are from the same lineage and the LS460 has LS400 blood in its veins. This is like the ultimate update. I think those LS400's look sharp as hell. I would totally do that just to do something new. I'm really surprised by all this stuff (if you couldn't already tell haha) up untill now I really shunned this stuff I feel reborn, HALLELUJAH!!
Where are you getting 200 a side and 350 a headlight? the projectors alone cost almost that.
Caoboy;124017 wrote:Where are you getting 200 a side and 350 a headlight? the projectors alone cost almost that.
Where are you getting 200 a side and 350 a headlight? the projectors alone cost almost that.
E-bizzile my nizzle. I see $199.99 no reserve with $30 shipped and I see $350.00 with no ballasts. OEM tail lights $185 plus $85 for the inners. Now granted those don't come with harnesses and whatnot but if you're putting a LS460 front on a car your... rigging up alot of stuff already...
I see. Problem is that no reserve, and the fact it's an auction. If you get lucky then you can score a deal. Don't count on it though. I want that 3gs front though!
i think the rear fenders need to be changed also. The front fenders look too aggressive for the rears. Looks like a front wheel drive. I think the head lights only would look good on the GS 2nd gen...i dont like the whole front clip thou....unless of cource the rear fenders are changed...imo
i wonder if the oem 3gen parts would fit perfect on the 2gen. like bolt up. you could just order them from local dealer.
^ NOPE
What do you mean by change the rear fenders?
WOOOOOOW!!!!! Those are some nice conversions!!!!! Big$$$$$$$$$$$$
Caoboy;124142 wrote:What do you mean by change the rear fenders?rear fenders doesnt bulge out like the front. it looks like a half wide body.
What do you mean by change the rear fenders?
rear fenders doesnt bulge out like the front. it looks like a half wide body.
I see. Well, you shoud always do a little fender work and have them reshape/weld the fenders to match the front, but then again, does the rear of the 3gs have that arch also?
I think it looks good but I just don't like how the newer 3GS fenders have that flat lip and the 2GS ones are nice and clean. Also, it would look better if the chrome trim went all the way around, or just have it removed altogether.
Caoboy;124184 wrote:I see. Well, you shoud always do a little fender work and have them reshape/weld the fenders to match the front, but then again, does the rear of the 3gs have that arch also?

Well, you shoud always do a little fender work and have them reshape/weld the fenders to match the front, but then again, does the rear of the 3gs have that arch also?
it actually does....thats what makes the 3gs rear looks so bubble and big. id rather just do a head light conversion on a parfume kit.
You are right, I was checking out my friends mom's 3GS. It does have a flat rear fender arch...but, I'm sure a competent body shop can replicate it. I'm still down for this front end conversion...someday...when money is available for such a thing lol.
Pricing will be up soon fellaz..... with more pics. Wow it looks better than the TAS shots shown here. Really well, IMO.

that car looks super nice. would love to drivw that car aroubd, and watch peeps do double/triple takes!
really really clean.
man you still have to buy the other lexus OEM parts??!! thats crazy.. i just pulled up the prices from my the computer and it came out to $3501 not including the side markers. $1099 for each headlight assembly. don't forget about the lexus emblem, and grille moulding too. i would do this conversion if i had the loot like that. i remember seeing a Y33 with an F50 front end conversion. anyone have more info on that?

But that's genuine Lexus parts for you.. no big surprise there. I suppose we didn't include any of this in our packages because it will spike the list price on our kit immensely (being that they are OEM Lexus parts). Keep in mind, this is for a Lexus and parts are an arm and a leg. Especially since headlight housings are full OEM HID systems. In addition to that, the 3rd Gen GS is still fairly new so prices on those parts will cost more. So for those who want to look at getting this kit, be prepared or find other avenues to attaining the other parts needed to make this conversion complete. Perhaps aftermarket, EBay, Junk yard, ??? etc. I remember OEM Y33 parts where $$$ too. When I had mine, I was charged $50 for a plastic piece that you can tell was only a few cents to be made. OEM Y33 HID headlights are $$$ too (and these cars over 8+ years old). But that's the price we pay for having luxury cars.
LOL. WOW! That's $$$. VIPETE - You will not find these parts at the j-yard. If you do...$$$...those will be pulled immediately and put into a glass display to be sold at a premium. Much like that bottle of VSOP that some of us oogle over at BevMo. Chris

You can find it (if you are extremely LUCKY!)!!
Ebay is your friend....put it this way. OEM headlights, no ballasts/bulbs would run about 500 a piece. You can rig up an HID kit in there for so cheap, AND using d4s bulbs... Foglights...i'm sure can be found cheap on ebay as well...grille...if it's gonna cost a grip...go with an aftermarket...say JP or Fabulous...they probably are cheaper than Oem...what else is needed?
OE shit is stupidly expensive (as you saw). You'd have to be on the pipe, or really wealthy to do a conversion like this by going to a dealer and buying the parts you need. This would end up being almost as expensive as a Fortune kit! (okay, not really, but still really up there)
