Best fiiting tire for g50 on 18s

Ok as most of you know I have gotten rind of my a32 for a 94 q45. I have some 18x8s that I had on my X-Runner and want to put them on my q for the time being and was wondering what the best tire size would be.

We need to know the offset your running as well.  Also, im guessing your stock height as of now since you just got the car.  DO you mean perfect fitting when your slammed?  Or at stock height?
 
I recomend you get the fenders rolled reguardless

Yup it's  stock height for now but will be getting slammed pretty soon. I think the offset is 30. I have to check.

you wont have any clearance issues with those at all, so it doesnt matter what tyres you get. Just get whatever the wheelshop recommends to keep the rolling diameter correct.

Ok,kew. So just go with what is recommended and no stretch?

i would go into 215/40...its very proper size,u won't get any problems driving it

So with 215-40 and fender rolling I should be just fine when slammed.

if fender rolled...you could even try 215/35

215/40 on an 8inch +30? cmon i was using a 215/40 on a 9 inch +7.

That's the whole reason I'm asking b4 I buy and waste my time and money for somthing that doesent look right. I know I was running 215 on my 18x7 for my a32 and they were not stretched at all but had a nice standard look to it.

i wouldn't waiste the time/money unless your stock tires are bad. that money could be spent on suspension/wheels.

Well the j30 wheels are not the prettiest things to look at on a q45,lol. I am undecided bout 18,119 or 20 and since I have some 18s already with burnt tread from drifting I thought these would be a good starting point especially if I went with 18's I'd just swap over the tires.

Yeah I'm just rying to get in the game right and not be one of those posers that think just b/c they a black 4dr car they are automatically VIP status. I've been doing research and have been around the scene for a while when I'd go visit my brother at the Naval Base in Japan.I've just always been into the circuit racing side of it with my cr-x now that I'm getiing older(29) I need to be more stylish. But as far as the tire size goes I'll just goe with what fits best until I get the wheels I want. I'm curntly slammed on z32 coilovers at the moment and tucking the stock 15s

18x8 +30 All around?
I would think those could rub but i don't know how much difference an inch in diameter and .5 in width make.

I am running 19x8.5 +35 low disc in front and rub only on un even terrain and hard turns. Not much clearance either if i go with a lower off set then I would rub constantly having to increase negative camber. This is also with a 225/35
Rears will be cake.

18x8 +30 should be fine but as for tire width I would run a 215 as mentioned.

you should have 1mm more clearance than damicci (nothing).
 
stock wheels may not be pretty, but imo if you are building a vip car stock is better than something thats not up to par. put the money you would spend on tires towards some baller wheels.

So true. Ok new qwestion. Are 18's too small for the Q? I have always liked the DISH wheels(Fabulous,DH,etc) How would the look on the Q? I have seen plenty on y33s tho.

i dont see a lot of g50 pics, but dish would be the way i would go. i have actally been thinking of doin a g50 next if i can't afford a y34. i think 18-19" is optimal.

if you send me your stock size and wheel width measurements i'll get you the right size for your tires

I think the stocks are 15x6 or 7. 205/65/15 is the tire size that is on there now.

okay well using the formula for determining overall diameter and width, your tires are 25.5 in. in OD and about 8.1 in wide, plus sizing this to a 18 in would put you somewhere around a 225/45R18 for optimal height, width, and tire availability. some of the other sizes mentioned would work, but are not popular sizes, so limited availability would be a problem, as well as cost. 225/45R18 is the OE size on a couple of Mercedes and BMW applications as well as the Altima SE-R and the Z and G35 as well, so availability of tires in that size is usually very good. hope i was helpful.

Thanx,the size that are them now are 255/45/18 that's the stock size for my X-runner.

yeah those would be a bit to wide and tall, people usually forget that the second # in tire sizing is an aspect ratio so a 45 series is different height depending on the first #.

Yeah I had already put them on b4 the drop and they were already tounching the fenders,lol.

three companies i know of make that tire, yokohama, bridgestone, and michelin, and all the tires are close to if not over $200 per tire. this is one subject i know with almost absolute certainty. the sizing i gave him not only offers the most choice in an 18" rim size but stays closest to his O.E. overall height and diameter. please don't assume that because you have some knowledge on a subject that i don't. rubber is my whole life, i spend more time with tires than most people spend with entire cars.

no offense, but SOME doesnt quite cover my knowledge on wheels and tire fitment.

really what tread pattern does nankang make them in because i've never seen them in either tread design, if you don't believe me here's their website, [url]http://www.tireco.com/PDF/2008%20Tireco%20Catalogue.pdf[/url], you find it on there let me know. toyo and nitto may make an offering (i didn't bother to check) however it goes back to a cost factor, tires with that little sidewall are going to be ridiculously expensive, and NOT the right size for his car. theres no reason to even consider this size as it is predominantly a motorsports size and this is not a race car. i don't know if you're pushing this issue to try to prove me wrong but there's no real point to fighting over it. if you have a better size with more options and a better price point please feel free to put it up.

205/40 is a 8j and 9j tire size on 18s.

it took me all of 10 seconds to find dunlop and nitto in 205/40 18. just because you have some experience with tires don't think you know it all. show me a vip car running oe overall diameter and i'll show you a clown. i don't even see where the op said it was an 8 inch wheel but it was never debated so; you're saying run a 225/40 18 on an 8" wide tire? i think you need to stop spending so much time with rubber and start learning about stance, fitment, and clearance. you're obviously way out of your league here.
 
i'm not gonna lie, your attitude really rubbed me the wrong way on this one.

i still say save your cash. the money you'll be looking at for (properly sized) tires is a good piece of some quality used wheels/tires.

yeah, i didnt want to comment on OE diameter, but who hoenstly cares on this forum about OE diameter?

Well I was gonn reuse the tires when I found some dish wheels but I guess I can stand rolling the J30 wheels for the time being. I had so many peopl asking me if I was on air today when I pulled up at my local tuning shop. I was like daym,I didn't think I was that low till I looked at the curb.

Being on stock 15s does have it's advantages after all,lol.

Yeah,I didn't really see anything either. Too bad 17's would be too small,lol. I'm also trying to figure what will go well with dark green as well.

That's what I was thinking. either all polished or chrome,or silver center with chrome polished lip. Thought bout black center but don't know how well that would play.

Yeah,here in north Texas you can never count on the weather. Could be warm and sunny and as soon as you finish detailing the ride it will be a down pour,lol.

i dont think black would look great. i mean it should look ok, but i'm not sure if it would be a vip look. black is the only color that can pull off black wheels imo.

Polished face, polish or chrome lip. Polished anondized lip best thing since slice bread.

honestly i wasn't giving anyone an attitude i was trying to put someone into something that would work best for there car. again you can find tires in that size, in my line of work i tell people there's nothing in a size when options are limited to a few brands with only one option in each. why everyone jumped down my throat for trying to help is a little ridiculous, just because i'm new to this board doesn't mean i'm new to cars. to be perfectly honest i recommended a 225/45R18 not a 40 series and i did it because i was under the impression that this was going to be a temporary fitment and he was looking for something inexpensive and readily available. if my advise is so bad then i won't give any and that'll be then end of it though.
