Dropped my gs is it low enough for VIP?

Here are some pics of my final drop. Lmk what you think. Was wondering if this is low enough to consider vip style.

Most of the Car you see on here are Using Air Bags or "Air Suspension" Its a "Style" that is hard to be Acheived with Simple Tein Coil Overs... :yahoo_68:

Achieve Tsuraichi for the stance to be 'perfect'. 

As in the rim is 'touching' the fender.

So....lower, spacers, then come back and ask again.

When i maxxed out my super steet on 20's my car was a bit lower in the front. I know u can sit on rim in the rear. U migght find that your tires rub. On the. Front and back and top of the wheelwell if u go lower. Thats why i went with 19's.... I vote lower..... Looks a lot better though

why does it have to be considered vip? why cant you just build your gs300 for you and how you like it? not how low we like.:shrug:

on the other hand... do what you feel... do a search and look at the cars... and ask yourself are you low enough?

if not then lower some more...

You guys who think VIP = slammed just crack me up.  That ride is just conservative and nothing wrong with that. However, with that color combination, it really needs tint and / or different wheels.

This has long been one of my favorite Cima's and sometimes desktop pic, and even MY Q is lower than this!  oh noes!!!

The cima is nice however not low enough. its not just a vip thing its a general principal if you are gonna lower your car why go half way.. silly rabbit trix are for kids! It as if you live in new york and spend money to fly to cali just to buy a "i love new york t-shirt" It just doesn't make sense. 

Now, sleeper2jz's car has a way better drop than that cima. so i think he gets a +1/2 point for the look..

Im sure you REALLLY use the expensive tires that you love and cherish for what they are used for....but most likely that ZR rating, isnt being used.

Um, do you see HOW many cars are featured in VIPcar and VIPstyle? OF COURSE there's going to be some that are conservative looking, compared to the SLAMMED ones. BUT the slammed ones are usually the ones that have the 'bigger' features. I actually got bored looking through those mags because of how MANY cars were featured...but yeah, SLAMMED is the only way to go. If you are on springs, you aren't low enough. Air, coilovers, or Hydros, whatever gets you as close to the ground as possible, and if you lay frame when you are parked, THEN you are low enough. Or at least achieve tsuraichi.

well just to chime in on this I would have to say its what people see is what makes your car VIP or not.
 
If you have to ask is this VIP then I say NO..if you know its VIP then YES. I for one think that there are different levels of VIP..the EXE,Wild and inbetween. I tend to like the cars that are lower and have streched out tires and deep lips. Thats what I prefer..but I would have to agree with Yokosta13 if your car is not turning heads and winning car shows in Japan and your not getting crouds around your car then most likely your car is not VIP.
 
F.L.S. I know you have allways been on the conservative side becuase you like to push your cars limits on the engine and safety has been an issue with you as its your family car. So thats cool and in your heart you consider your car VIP...
 
Yokosta13 you have a unique style that some like and some dont. YOur style reminds me of the older WILD VIP cars..YOu have implamented performance into your game..And you have done alot of DIY's that lots of us cant touch...and props to you on that..
 
Now F.L.S. if your car was in a Japanes VIP show/event..who do you think your car would be sorounded my VIP enthusiasts and turn heads and get respect?????

Personally and out of no dissrespect I would think that Yokosta13 car would get more attention because of his camber and how low he is AND ALL the suspension work he has done, including interior mods.

Look at widebodyQ's car..allthough he is not sporting shiat loads of camber loook at all the fender work he has done to get that perfet stance..NOW THAT in itself is VIP...he is WIDE N LOW..
 
and I think that most folks would agree that VIP is not just about slamming your ride a little or alot its about putting shiat loads of time and effort into achieving the perfect look..
 
I hope to be able to dot this to my ride this year..Is to complete my fender work so that my rear fenders and wheel barels are perfect as well as my fronts. I have spent so much time focusing on my interior and now its time to move back out to the exterior to  put my car up thiere with the rest of the cats...

man theres some rediculous comments in this thread. imo, your gs isn't enough of anything to be considered vip (read on, that wasn't an insult). a vip car is a complete look, not a drop, not wheels, not a fusa, but a complete build. could you pull off a vip car with that drop? i think so, but you have some work to do.

Ok this is getting out of hand. I know I need more to be considered vip. I just was asking if the amount of drop was fine to pull it off when I get my other upgrades. If you notice I am a noobie at this and just entered this site. Thanks to the members that contributed good info and are leading me in the right direction. Also I chose this color because It stands out from the other gs on here since most are black or white.

Don't take it too seriously man, we're not club lexus. We tend to be a bit more harsh, but more open, and to the point. Bluntness tends to get the point across, and keep the style towards it's 'roots' rather than letting anybody do anything and ruin the style you know?
 
 
You have Tein SS. SLAM those beezy's. If you don't feel comfortable with the slammage/ static ride height, then I suggest looking into getting a UAS setup, as they have a setup designed to be used with the Tein SS.
 
Your wheels CAN be enough to pull off the style. They WILL need spacers to pull off being flush, roll your fenders so you don't have to worry about rubbing, and call it a day for now.

I think that with our friend [B]Sleeper2jz[/B] and his GS...it would be ultimately up to him if he decides to really spend the money to make it an Actual "VIP" ride or to "just make it look nice" by lowering it sum and sporting some nice rims. - Personally i would "just make it look nice" cause it fits my budget. I dont have the kinda money some of you might have to throw on some Fabulous rims or Wald kits. I'd simply give it a nice low stance and some rather nice rims..nothing too fancy at first..[U]untill perhaps i can afford it. [/U]

Hey man you gotta pay to play..VIP is not cheap by all means..and if you aint got the $$$$ then it may be very hard for you to achieve something that Most VIP enthusiats will appreicate:shrug: 
 
this is not a Pepboys auto tunning style..Pics you see of nice done up VIP cars usually have  lots of $$$$$ droped into them..but then again look at Benjis car..he was in a magazine and I think he pulled his car off at the time under $10k including the car..or $5k only on mods I cant remember..
 
point is if your going to VIP stle your ride and you want approval then do it right or:ughgtfo:

The Front looks good...just need to lower the rears..get spacers and push that rim to the fender.  You will need to shave the rear fenders thou. The rear wheel should atleast tuck the tires.

..maybe you need to read my post again...aswell as the topic page. Sleeper2jz asked if his ride was low enough & we all agree that it iznt ( or to Even be "VIP" ). I Understand what your saying but perhaps you couldnt read my underlined bit at the end of my post. i'l wright it again for you to understand....-> When i have more Money ( $$$$ ) to spend on my ride..Then perhaps i can start looking to making it a True VIP, But..since i dont have that much money ( I dont have Much money )...then i would just throw some nice rims and a drop it a good amount. - Now just to clarify a bit more....im not Trying to Run a 'VIP club' here in Texas but i do want to build my way up eventually....so...if any of you have extra cash to donate i welcome that..but if not....then thats fine..let me start from where i can.

That was my view from a Low budget scenario( and true in my case)..but perhaps Sleeper2jz DOES have $$$$ and just needs some guidance...thats what your all here for...Not bashing.

Why not instead of spending the money on some 'nice' (which probably means ebay rims) just save that money and put it towards some better rims? It's always better to do it right the first time, instead of spending money half assing and getting some cheap rims that look 'good' for now.

Thats a valid point but maybe some of us just want something "Nice"...am i being judged for that? - Maybe i have a spending habit and i cant save cash...ultimately thats my problem dont you think? See thats the problem right der...most of you newbies dont want to take the advice that OG's offer you. YOu would rather through away money on the now than saving for the right parts for the future..I did understand what you said about not having that much $$$$$..then maybe VIP is not for you right now..I am not saying I steaking rich but I dont use that as an excuse..if you have a spending habbit you obviously have money that can be saved and used towards your project!

Either you want it VIP or you want it nice. There are a lot of nice cars out there that are not VIP influenced..but hey thats your decision right not ours. We just try to be honest and help govong you guys the words and advice you need to hear to get your heads moving in the right direction.

Very True ...  Enjoy what you have and save up until you get to have the right set up .. 

Shit I have spent around 8000 On my air suspension ... I am still pissed about that but Don't let anyone talk shit about it .... Live and learn we are all here to let people know what it takes to have the "look" and we love it live it and eat it ... and appreciate seeing others follow ... If you don't have the money .. Hey no problem .. but If you had to ask ifs its low enough then I will take a stab in the dark and say No ... Hell I am even at work with No pictures but I can agree with everyone on the site that I bet they are right ... Lower ='s better ...

The Problem is Everyone wants It Done Now, and Dont want to Save to get It Done [B][I]Right[/I][/B] Later.
Most of the "VIP" I see were not Done Over Night (unless Project Car of Company). 
It takes [B][I]Time[/I][/B] for a Project to be Done Right If You Dont have the Cash, [B][I]Im Talking Years[/I][/B], It Takes [B][I]Time and Deadication, to Stick It Out Stay Focus and SAVE!!![/I][/B]

Nope.

Higher levels of racing are far more expensive than Vip.

And having cash flow problems is not an reason to deprive yourself of what you like, that's b.s. It just takes hard work and more determination and patience than throwing money at something.

This is why I always suggest to newbies to save up for the right parts.

I'l finish up with this cause it seems that in trying to defend the newbie here & i got most of the fireballs thrown at me...and thats fine i think, i can defend myself. - Because of my post count you may think im a newbie..but in reality im not..but hey thats ok i suppose. heres my advice. you can do what you want to do, either you pull it off or you don't, but when you start advising other people to half-step with you expect to hear about it. some of these guys are hardcore vip traditionalist so you might not want to hear what they have to say but its the truth. i'm more liberal (have to be since i don't drive a platform, but would be even if i did) but something you will have to understand and respect to get anything out of this forum is this is about high-end, classy, label-***** modifications. if your not with that then your just looking at pictures.

at least you got the right chassis bro. i guess it just threw peeps off because you have 20s and you dont have a body kit so your car even thou is lowered still sits pretty high. Not everyone especially a newbie to the scene is going to get it right the first time. sorry when some peeps here seems harsh, there just trying to guide u the right way.  So dont get mad and defensive. ive been thru lots of rims at least 3 and im still rocking sterns lol. Im going to my 4th one already. Have gone thru 2 sideskirts and about 2 front lips and im continuing to modify. its easy to get it right the first time but then it just gets boring. part of the fun of this hobby is going thru the transitions, even thou it will cost more money. But just have an open mind and read up the vip magazines or just look thru the gallery here so you can get the feel of how VIP style is about.

Look @ your car and say the same thing. 

moral is: if you lead a VIP lifestyle, you're car will suit you. real VIP people weren't made over night, and you're car wont be either. it takes time, effort and patience, to achieve VIP status.

your car looks "nice" but you will learn as you visit this forum and READ, yes read, what it takes to have a VIP or VIP influenced ride.

Alot of the kids here in japan that do VIP(kids make up about 80% of hte people id say 28 and undeR) are not rich, are not VIP.
So your assesment of leading a VIP lifestyle will make you VIP along with your car is incorrect. Most of these people get loans out to do their cars, on a normal basis. 
SO, that said, it has nothign to do with yoru lifestyle as per say. i am hardly the first person that if you saw me in teh street would drive the car i do. I mean, heeleys, and random jeans with a black shirt isnt very VIP is?
But i guess the fact all my accessories (coin pouch, bill holder, wallet etce tc) are coach...does that make me VIP?
