I lost someone very close to me this morning...

Some of you knew or had met my business partner Dave Tang. Last year he was diagnosed with cancer and went through numerous therapy. He had been battling it back and forth. Just when things would look up..things would look down. It's been a rough battle for him all this time, but he'd been strong and we thought things were looking up. He was away on the mainland getting treatment, we thought he was going to pull through......but he started having problems breathing. He started having breathing problems and then his heart stopped. They revived him, but then he stopped breathing...and he left us for the last time. He died this morning.

I still don't know what to think, or feel, or do. Dave was like family to me. Through regular friendship, through Grip Video, through everything.. Something seems hallow, and although I know what it is...I also don't know what it is...if that makes any sense. Please take a moment to think of Dave...he's had an impact on many peoples lives and has really lived life to the fullest. I find peace knowing that he's always been striving for more and always helping when he could. I'm really going to miss him...

It's always an inspiration to have someone who is going through the hardest things in life; be able to be a part of yours, and be a great friend and role model. Honor him by doing your best and drawing on the influences he had on you.... May he rest in peace, and may you draw strength in knowing that the two of you did great things together...

R.I.P.

hey bro i just want to let you know what im real sorry man all my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. i know what its like to lose a real good friend expectingly. me and jspecfuzion lost someone to a street racing accident when he was run off the road at 90+ and we had just seen him the day before. its like you have no idea what to think or feel.....for me it was like i have all these emotions trying to come through this lil door all at once and they just get stuck. the best thing i can say is know that he's still with you man and always will be keeping you safe, i know my boy is, im sure yours is too

Dave was a great guy. One of the first few guys that I met that was REALLY into VIP cars just as I was starting out. Before I even thought about my GS, nor this site Dave was already all over it. My condolences from the VIPStyleCars.com family to everyone that Dave touched and was a part of

sorry i was short in my other post...i was on my sidekick...

i couldn't believe the phone call i got this morning...i thought it was a joke or another dave...dave was one of those guys who always thought positive and made every situation as fun as possible...he was a brilliant business man and taught me a lot about life in general...althgouh he was a close friend, i always looked up to him as a sort of mentor...i have nothing but great memories of him and made my stay here in hawaii a pleasant one...i remember the late night modding, the bbq's at hawaii loa ridge and best of all, his bday when he puked in dnb's bathroom then took him to the titty bar after...the people who knew dave were lucky and fortunate to have met such a fantastic person...

mike, keep me updated on when the memorial/funeral is...

a very fond memory...

We're considering it, but not till after the family makes all the arrangements for the funeral and what not. After the funeral..we should let them find peace first, then we can honor him. I think that'd be the most respectful thing to do.

^ Very astute thought.

My condolences to you and his family. Though I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, its appears that the community has lost a shining example. Rest In Peace.

Never know what to say about things like this but I am sorry for the loss here and my prayers go out to his family and friends. It always sucks when someone this young is called Home way sooner than expected. I never knew Dave but I am sure the pic above represents the way he will be remembered and may he finally R.I.P.

When I got the call that Morning I just couldn't believe it. Still in shock...........just was with him a little while back helping move into their new place. He was weak but in high spirits. He was talking about going back to Boston for treatment.......just in total shock. He was the "biggest" Chinese guy I knew with a "big" Heart to match. Always out to help when and where he could. Called his Cell the other day.......just to hear his Voicemail.......rest in peace man! We love you and miss you!

Mike you got a PM.

Sorry for the loss. I lost a friend last year, just 27 years old, freak skateboarding accident. It still bothers me 8 months later, whenever I see a photo of him, or hear a song that reminds me of him I get chocked up. Words can't express it, but stay strong man. RIP Dave.
