Work Euroline Offset for RA1
I'm interested in getting a set of Work Euroline with 17X8 +35, 17X9 +38 for my 1997 Honda Odyssey RA1. Do you know if these will fit without rubbing and without any mods (not even rolling fenders)? If so, what tire size would work? I have a set of 4 R17/50/205.
But I'm also weary about a staggered offset on a FWD Honda. What do you think?

it'll fit but it'll look ...unfullfilling in my opinion.
Aero? what for suspension?

still depends on the face of the wheel...need to know high, mid, low, or super low disc to be 100% sure..but those wont rub on the fender at all..maybe the struts..

thanks RASRX7. What is the offset/hub/tire combo you have? What did you have to do to make it fit?

Ron, correct me if I am wrong, but face has no regards to offset other than the design of the disk and how much lip will be had. Face comes to mind for me when dealing with cars with big brakes. The disk will then be high and the back part of the disk that mounts to the hub will be contoured to fit the brake. The lower the disk, the flatter the mounting area on the back of the rim is, thus subtracting mass from the outside of the disk, giving more look of lip is achieved.
I thought offset and disk have no correlation. Please tell me if I am wrong!
On h-techs you will still be pretty high, so even my 1990+24 and 1910+24 would probably fit because your stance is skyscraper. they will stick out like a sore thumb because the lack of camber but I feel you are going for a moderate stance and nothing too crazy. If that is true, we can but better numbers together. 18s would let you go with a 40 profile tire. Why don't you want to roll?

disc depth actually does affect the backspacing...techincally changes the offset....in overall measurements..... High disc faces have a bigger pad on the back of the face that rests on your hubs vs the super low disc which has the bare minimum. even if both wheel have the exact same offset in the rim.. if its a high disc with a bigger pad..it pushes the wheel out that much more. ill try to find pics to explain it..hard to visualize...now im confusing my self...see if you get it...LOL

but..i always though that regardless of face, the area from half the width of the rim to the area of contact pad was your offset(as displayed in your pics). I am still defending that face is equal to cosmetical and brake clearance only stand. Bring it RoNs! I needta be taught rite.

And as for ignorant spectatators, we need the right stuff too!!! Oh yeah Timmuh, thanks for the parts, can't wait to put it all together...

When buying used wheels, the disc makes a differnce cause i notice that when i get wheels from japan, or even local importers out here...swapping faces and lips to create super big lip is done. without any notice to the disc..i seen low disc faces put on high disc lips setup which make the inner lip rub on the struts or control arms while the opposite, high disc face on low disc lip setup to create immense lip and poke, pushing it into the outter fender. It the last thing anyone looks for...everyones more concerned with the depth of the lips..they never bother to check the backspace....
exaggerated example....

19*9 +9 215*30*19 front
19*10 +7 225*30*19 rear
had to pull fender...anything lower then +28 x10 in the rear is gonna need minor fender work, the lower the more. the biggest width i got so far under the rear is a +26 X10.5 sits in 1.8 of an inch to where my +7 x10 is now....
running staggard on fwd is not an issue, it can be done, but the bigger the wheel is in front compared to stock, lower offset, taller, or wider, will cause more stress on your factory hubs and wheel bearings. It goes with the territory of modding the wheels....

Ah I understand the contact patch very clearly as I have too defined it. So what you are saying is two rims of same size , and same offset, but different faces will sit differently on the car?
I think I get it..

No no no no no, you have the whole offset thing screwed up. I feel you on the swapping faces thing, but a 19x10 +7 low disk fits the same as a 19x10 +7 high disk. It's just that the high disk rim's lip is smaller. You can change faces to alter the offset of a wheel, but in a situation like this, a high disk fits the same as a low disk.
There's way more to it, but I'll leave it to someone else to explain.

woo hoo for me! Ron gets pwned.
Disks are cosmetically (lips wise) and brake caliper clearance cautious only. they do not affect the offset.

 hes totally right...if the wheels are virgin wheels from the factory. When dealing with used wheels, especially wheels "re" designed for major lip and poke, it becomes an issue. But untill you get down below +10 offset on a fwd base or into the negative offsets in rwd...i wouldnt even worry about it....
