ls400 or a q45??state why?

ok yah i just got a chance to pick 1 of these and im having a difficult time choosing a ls400 or a q45 damn hard choice so if yah can give me some tips advice and such on your preferred choice and why it might help me to make my choice as for me im leaning towards the q45 as that low look slick back look when airbagged

let point out the obvious
both are big sedan,v8s,luxury,rwd,imports,old?,and such but eh iuono

You can fit any wheel on any car, its a matter of how much work your willing to put into the equation... so if you want less work with lower offsets then the Q is your choice.  I will always love the ls more though, and yea im biased.  and so are you grant *coughzilviacough**

if its a y33 go with the infiniti but other then that ls400 or ls430 i got a ucf10 and love it

You still haven't stated if your lookin at the Y33 Q or the G50 Q
My hart is stuck on a G50 as everyone here knows........but I WOULD LOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEE!!! to do a LS build!!! The conversions on the LS are pure SEX!!!!!!!!!!

BTW- This is a UCF 21!! Converted to a widebody 31!!!!! GORGEOUS!!!!

damn if was able to get that model lexus i would be a very very very very happy camper haha that hotness right there but it not that one i think it the old model eh the 
1997-2001 Infiniti Q45 (y33) or the 1995-2000 Lexus LS 400  (ufc10) but i do like the face lift  version of the 98 and up if i find that version lexus i might get that instead but for right now the Q is still in the top

p.s i thought ls came pre equip with air suspension right? and the q is just basic shocks and springs??

the Q45 is cheaper to buy nowadays than the LS400. which, i figure, would explain their frequency now. 

Personally, I'd say the Q45. Can i convince you of the merits of a 3.5RL? LOL!

My reasoning is that i wouldn't waste time on an LS400 that wasn't a UCF20.2...the UCF20 is just a dull looking car unless it's the 20.2. But the UCF20.2 is still spendy if you're looking to keep a few bucks for a kit and wheels.

Both too me are dope cars, I would have a hard time deciding too.  I think it really depends on what is important to you.  The Q45 has a better looking exterior imo, but the interior isn't as nice as the LS400.  Both cars can look awesome if done right though.  I would personally go w/ the LS400 just because I think it's a better made car.  Toyota > Nissan imo.

I love the 99ls400 style ... But If i had the option to choose ... a white ls400 or a whilte 99q45 ... 


I have a lexus and love it ... I would want to get a q45 because i know what rims will  fit on there ! 

19x10 -17ish low disc ??  i know guys here are cramming anything in there .. and you will have better options for styling IMO 

But look in the socal meet area on march2nd ... they have many examples for you to see ...

It seems the Q45 can fit more aggressive wheels right out the box..

both r nice cars... this post is kinda pointless for you... it'll just play mine games with you... its really what ur gut feelsing r because if u really lik one car and bought the other, you'll always have that feeling "man i shoulda bought that car...
 
but as in looks and wheels fitment, the Q is hardcore... the LS on the other hand "boxy look" is a gangsta classy look also... cant go wrong either....
 
i've worked on both kinda of cars for a while now and the LS is a better built car with less issues and hold way more value....

THE Q can fit some fat nasty wheels with no fender mods, the LS not quite as much.
teh q is faster.
the LS is built better. i've worked on both for a living, it's true.
aside from that, everything else is up to how you want to build them and what you want them to look like.

nissan > * (not literally but for the sake of this conversation)
 
that being said toyota is no slouch either. between the models you are looking at i might actally choose the ls, but i would choose a g50 over those. f50 vs. previous gen ls... too close to call. 
 
hmmm... maybe nissan doesn't own all, but a majority of the cars i have driven have been nissan.

I say get a LS cus I own a Q45 AND DONT NEED MOE COMPETITION LOLOLOL!

Its all really a personal taste preference. I say Q45 but mainly because I own one and love it everyday I look at it! y33 cima!!

i agree with this. i was looking to get a 97-01 Q when i learned a few things:
1) the 97-01 dropped to a 4.1L instead of the 4.5
2) there  have been many sludge issues with the 4.1

thus i went with the G50. overall very happy seeing as how i traded an S14 for it. the choice is up to you bro, what you going to get?

i think you got it twisted. infiniti mechanics in san diego hate the G50. thats why they didnt use the 4.5 in the Y33. too many issues with the motor. fuel injectors for staters, but you could be lucky and get the good one out of the bunch

i agree, this thread is pointless. if youre going off ppls opinions then youre gonna get the y33.

I agree as well. just pick one and stay true to it. I guarantee each car has highs and lows, but I think with the cars your choosing from, the highest trim each competitor offers, you won't be dissappointed.

Just like any car, take care of your ride and your ride will take care of you. 

I only bought a Q cause I'm the only guy on Kauai with an F50 & I see too many LS's here in Hawaii LOLZ. =)

g50 def has alot of issues my boys has already had injectors and alternator crap out on his 94 both of which were annoying as shit to fix

btw hes had it about 6 months

LS slamm wayyyyyy better than Qs +they have more features!

this may be true. i was just going off of what my mechs told me. i do value their knowledge and opinions; they have yet to fail me.

id get the newer q45 style.  Theres not allot there.  It just looks so big and more luxurious imo.

I say Q becuase they are the shiat...#1 VIP CAR in the states FO SHO!  uuuhh oooohh I better duck beneath the sand bags..kekekekekekeke
 
Get what you want...lots of parts for both vehicles. Its up to you how you execute your build...

Either way you will have a great car to start with.

I say if ur gonna buy a brand new car the q45 and the ls are pretty even.   but id take a 10 year old lexus over a 10 year old nissan neday!

When those cars first came out back in 1989 I thought both cars looked great but the styling of the Q45 was unlike anything I'd seen before. I thought it was very unique whereas the LS400 looked too much like a Mercedes clone. Fast forward to now, I'd have a hard time deciding between an LS430 or even a LS460/600h and the Q45. I've been driving nothing but Toyota products for the past 7 years so I might be swayed towards the LS but again the Q45 styling is unique. If i had to pick one it would likely be the LS.

I think you should get a Q45 so we can watch more Q45 people go at it !!!!! Jk i say test drive both and see what you like.

I say get one as your daily and fix up the other one LOL.....I would have picked up a Q, if I didnt have my LS. Hmmmmnnnn then again Q's here in SD are like a damn a dozen hehehe j/k.

im gonna have to go with the ls because there easier to find in washington and all the q's i've found are in such terrible shape it would cost way more to fix them up then to just buy an ls.

its a tough decision but i'd go with an LS

LS I agree its a lot easier to find clean ones.
I have had both lexus and infiniti and overall I found the quality of materials in the lexus to be better than the infiniti

I chose the y33 because of the lines of the body that's it... Just pure elegant sex
The g50 is another one of my faves but its hard to find a clean one and they tend to be expensive to maintain

Hey a 98+ LS or a 430 they are hot

while hot, i dont think they look as good as the q
its all in the eye of the beholder i suppose

It honestly depends - If cost is not an option LS400.  I think you can get more car for less money with a Q45 as they have depreciated more than the LS.
 
As far as reliability the Lexus has the Q-ship beat all day long.
