looks like the colored rims are a hit. I remember somewhere on here how they were claimed to not be VIP. I likey, especially the white LS with purple rims

VIP starts with the platform and fitment/stance. What ever the owner does from there is up to them as long as they use quality stuff.  Thats why that crown with the Volk wheels was on the cover of the April issue of VIP car

Specs on that car:
Front/Rear customized aimgain/Side Aimgain/Fogs from a different maker/Fender: Front rolled lips, rear 3cm pumped and 3-4cm radiused/Mufflers: Anceltion Vendi/Suspension T-Demand custom coilovers, SSR Eigle Premium (F9.5J/R11.5J-18, polished)/LM703 tires/T-demand full arm set/crossmember customization
 
In the rear, all arms have been swapped for pillowball items. The knuckle arm has also been customised to use pillowballs. This allows him to have such tight fender clearance. Has a full description of the custom coilovers he used, but basically they are made to allow driving at that height. 
The wheels, kit and muffler are all selected to compliment a low/camber/flush look
 
On the side it says he is about to start changing the kit to achieve a different look. 
 
It says he likes the 5-spoke look so he chose SSRs, and he picked 18s to let him go lower.
 
Body colour is a stock colour from a different car, and rear fenders are pumped 3cm, raised 3-4cm
 
The kit was customised by himself, Front had the lip portion smoothed, and the rear was made 3cm longer
 
He wanted to have the 'exposed tyres' look. 
 
Fog lights are from a Corolla Wagon, with a HID kit
 
Front camber is 11-12 degrees and rear is 10 degrees. Fender clearance is less than a finger all round, but it doesnt rub at all.
Probably something to do with the fac that he is running 32kg/mm front and 28kg/mm rear springs.
For comparison, normal JIC coilovers have 9kg/mm and 7kg/mm springs. His springs are ROCK HARD!

There is no way that car can be driven daily unless it never sees elevation change in the roadway.  Amazing! But would be sooo much better if on air so it actually could be driven.

But you would be surprised that alot of these cats do drive their cars daily like that. They just put up with the scrapes and noises as they go down flat roads. I remember having this conversation with one guy on Minkara, who was talking about a secret suspension upgrade (his car was sitting less than one finger height off the framerails already). I suggested it would be airsus, to make it more practical... His reply? "Dont be silly! I want to DRIVE at this height, and i wont be able to drive this low with air. This is why i choose coilovers!"

and as for 10-12 degrees camber being retarded for daily use? Talk to Grant (Yokotas13) he did it with his Cedric on a daily basis. It only eats tyres if you have a lead foot! (ok, so grant has a lead foot, but still!)

Btw, that Vipcar issue is dedicated to coilovers (cover story says "all about coilovers"). So most of the cars in that issue are on coilovers... 


Pancakes - yep i got my car submitted to the mag by Taketomi-san, who found a pic of it on an Aussie vip site. Look for me in upcoming event reports, once i get to Japan i will try to see them all!

I have daily driven a car with less than a finger gap to my frame as well.  Is it possible? Very much so!  Is it possible for the car shown in the picture without completely destroying most of the body work on the front end.  No.

BUAHAHAHA...cars like this is what i would love to have but is unreasonable in california...our roads has bigger dips and cracks in the cement they japan probably has speed bumps or driveways.

I can appreciate all the work that went into that, especially to get it to drive like that...Look at the front wheels He's go real steering range. It's the same dedication it takes to get some of those Donks (70s Caprices) to get the right fitment and stance on 26s. You can just jack a donk up in the air, you gotta do it right...just like this dude did his right.

Well the supposedly he can turn the wheel lock to lock... No idea how he did that though!

^You pull the fenders and run super stretched tires with negative camber up front.  I rarely lift the car unless there are kids around and I want to put a smile on their faces.
