Yeah no answer on MIXI, one guy says that he though it had something to do with a German pronounciation but doesn't know for sure.

Looks to be a play on words possibly,

Garson in Japanese is taken from French meaning Boy
So D.A.D. could just mean Dad in a grown up sense for more adult decor and luxury in a vehicle. This is how another Japanese VIP Enthusiast explained it to me. Makes sense but why the abbreviation style spelling I don't know.

D.A.D actually comes from the owners name. I think his name is Daisuke. So it stands for Daisuke and Daisuke. He owns Yellow Hat in japan. He made D.A.D because he wanted to market a high-end name for automotive accessories.
