Looking for VIP team emblems/logos!

Hi guys! I'm hoping to tap into your knowledge and experience for my local team logo/emblem design. I'm working on promoting the VIP scene and combining the VIP rides around my area to form a team.

We're hiring a friend/graphic designer to design it. She's very good at what she does but doesn't know a thing about the scene. I let her know that I would try to gather some sample logos to draw inspiration from and she has creative control to design her own unique design.

I've always liked the JP crest style logo and I have many sampled from their site but i'm open to anything!

Please help a fellow VIP brother out through ideas or samples you might know!

Moved...and I think that you should create an original logo that expresses what you feel, not what other teams have felt theirs should be.  My crews logo hasn't changed much since 2000.  Well, it changed a little here and there, but we went back to the OG logo from back then, just with slight variation:

I'd suggest you not copy JP or anyone else for that matter..be original, be creative, don't just do what others do.  Do what you want to do.

if she's a 'designer', she can come up with an original design. 
 
cant bite other peoples ish and call it your own. Theres way to much of that in this industry.

I made this one based on some I saw in the various mags. Plus, I have always loved the Greek-key motif, even our wedding bands have it, or "Versace-style" as the jeweler described it.  Apparently he didn't know the Greeks beat Versace by about 8,000 years lol....

Make it original and try not to copy others' works. Just as elpresidente said. I mean its a logo for you. Just make it plain and simple.

That is exactly why I do my own drawings..My stuff is all one off designs..I will use certain pictures as references when drawing cars and what not for angles etc..but when a customer comes to me for a logo I allways do my own concepts!

Uhm..I hope so.  This isn't about that Rich.  I also have that same dingbat font they got that crown from.  I've used it here and there as well..just not on any vip stuff.

The crown, there is an online store that sells a bunch of vector images.  Thats where she got the crown from.  I know cos I told my designer to "get" that crown for me ;-)

lol...im more than sure the RE one is 98% from scratch, i cant speak for DG but, best bet would be to come up with your own.

lol...The only thing that is not from scratch on my design are the 2 griffens and the crown above the RE.  Everything else was made from my web designers thru vector.

The crown, I just had to have when I saw it!!  Was a lil uncomfy about buying an[I] image[/I] but it saved me time and it kinda [I]topped off[/I] the rest of the logo that I had been working on for a couple hours.....while under a deadline to finish a website :sad:
 
I had the logo up with and without the crown. Mixed reviews but I likes it tho:runcoold:

Haha, I think she actually knew what I said.  If not, Dingbats are fonts made up of images and not letters. I paid $0.00 for it.

^^^^^Yeah I have a few of those dingbat fonts. actually quite a bit..Credit card ones , planes, smilyes, gothic and some others..They are prettty cool...but I paid for them...not that much but at least I can use them without anyworries...:biggthumpup:

All I can say if you like dingbats is search for NORPicons.  (Spell NORP backwards, hehehe)  and yeah, it's free.

not necesarly vip but it fits the look. it was pretty crazy because i had not talked to him in a while and he had a logo that had all these elements, just arranged differently and not done as weel.

I can too.  There weren't any stipulations or royalties involved.  Almost all my fonts I got for free with other products.  There is also a TON of free software fonts on the market and without user license agreement restrictions.

Wow! VSC really pulled through! I'll forwrd this thread to my artist! I'll make sure to post it up when it's done! keep em coming in the meantime!
