overall, it was a fun project...there are a lot of things i would do differently next time around though...a better welder and a bigger compressor would be on top of my list...
 
the passenger side quarter panel gave me the most trouble...for some reason, the panel warped a lot more than the driver's side...took me a while but after a few swipes, i was finally able to get it...

GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!  I knew something good was coming from u from being all quiet hahaha.  Give me a holla if you ever get back in town and we can hang out.  Im thinking about going to Hawaii but loot is kinda tight right now...

thanks guys...ever since my daughter has been born, it was hard forme to even touch the damn thing...i took a couple weeks off work before we move back to cali so i can finish this thing up...did all the body work, prepping, grinding, r&i parts, etc, etc. in just under 6 days...half the time i was waiting for my slow ass compressor to keep up with my D/A...haha...and only had 2 hours of booth time...and it was in a tiny shitty booth...oh well...can't complain for 50 bucks and couple hours short notice...thank god it was only solid white...
 
yo af, i'm moving back to cali on apr 30th...you'll be coming and i'll be going...we're gonna make a family trip down there one day...i'll let you know...

I think he's saying it's just a reflection?  I saw it in person and I don't remember it being flat in that area.  I'm sure D can explain it for you.  I witnessed it progress through it's stages...

Ya, def making me want to get grants flares and do pretty much the same thing.  Maybe someday ill have the desire to do this amount of body work to a car again.  Got burnt out after shaving everything on my last car.

my bad, misread your post...thought you said 'reflection of the flare'...but yes, it is the actuall flares and it is flar except the rounded edges...i had to blend into the door jamb contour and the outside edge of the quarter panel...
 
yokota's flares are fiberglass...a LOT less work but it all looks the same...i rather have metal though :biggthumpup:

Can you buy these flares in metal because fiberglass widebody with wheels contacting fenders at all down is destined to equal failure in the body work.  Most likely with heavy contact with metal too, but its a lot for flexible.

oem is white pearl...i didn't like the tri-coat pearl because it made the car look dirty...the pearl gives it a stainy look on the flop...i opted to go with a 1965 GMC Truck white...it's pretty much like every other solid white color you see...

almost there man...2 more weeks...originally we had our tickets via ATA and as we all know, they took a huge shit...we had to book another flight through NWA (no, not *****s with attitude)...it was pretty costly but at least we're right back on schedule and have the piece of mind that our flight is already booked...

yeah, it sucks...i guess working on my car in front of the house was like putting a big target on it...infinit's don't have laser cut keys but they do have immobilizers so I dunno...

W/ those 3 series flared fenders...im pretty sure it won't be hard to find.  that sucks to hear though.  sorry mang.   HI sucks.  too much losers out here.

With those new rear fenders, and the fact that Hawaii is pretty small, I'm almost certain you'll get the car back. Best of luck with that bro.
