Rotary, trust me bee and I have talked about our cars since we have similar set-ups. The main difference between our cars is the wheel sizes and offsets and our suspension choices :P

My rears are about 15mm further out than his and I'll have hydros instead of air. I've been working on the donor car's system for a few days now just cleaning it up. Hopefully I'll have time to do the swap soon.

Thanks for all the compliments guys =) It really makes it all worth it when other people can appreciate your hard work

The wheel specs:
AME Shallen LX
19x9.5 +16 offset, S-Low disk, 225/35/19 General Exclaim UHP's
19x10 +10 offset, S-Low disk, 235/35/19 General Exclaim UHP's

The rears were rolled totally flat with a VERY VERY slight pull. I messed up rolling the rears because of the stupid holes for mounting the fenderwell trim. There are holes it it for the clips that hold the trim screws, and when you run the fender roller over them, they cause dimples in the metal, so both sides have 2 little dimples on the fender  But I plan to have all that smoothened out later on when I get another paint job, when I finally get my Wald executive kit...

The Airbag install literally took 23 hours straight for me. I fell asleep for a few minutes while I was under the car that night lol, but I started on it at 6pm Saturday afternoon and didnt get done until about 5pm the next day. I didnt have any help since my friends were busy, and I wanted to do eveyrthing myself as a learning experience anyways. The pictures were taken about 10 minutes after I finishe dthe install haha, I was in a hurry because lack of sleep was making me delirious :giggity:

For the air hoses, UCF10/11's have a rubber plug in the spare tire well, so it was perfect to remove it and run the hoses through the hole. After that, I ran the front hoses over the rear subframe and then to the side rails underneath the car. The rears were pretty much straightforward, over the suspension/out of the way of any moving parts of course. You can go to Lowes or any hardware store and find these metal/rubber clamps that allow you to attach the hose to the underbody with self tapping screws. Which reminds me, I need to go get some more. They do the job great though.

I ran twin 8ga. wires from the battery parallel with the air hoses, into the trunk for the compressors. On a car the size of mine, youll need about 40 feet, 45 to be safe depending on how you plan to run it.

I went with the dual 3 gallon tanks because I really didnt want to wait for the single 5 gallon tanks to come in. My goal was to install it that weekend because the weekend after (which is this weekend) is my birthday so I had to have it for "flossin'" purposes hahaha :yahoo_35: . But it still works great, and holds an extra gfallon of air. I'll take more pics of the trunk setup afte rI get some new fittings and rearrange some things. It looks really messy because I had to improvise with some leftover fittings, since I broke a few over-torqing them

Crispy- I agree, I need to figure something out because I also installed some 6000K HID's for the headlights and 3000K for the fogs a few days ago, so now the bumper lights and corner lights look kind of odd all dim/faded yellow.

As for tips for people installing bags for the first time, plan on setting aside the full weekend to do this. A day or 2 before you start the install, lay all the fitting and everything out and plan your install, depending on how you want to run everything, you might need more fittings, in fact, if you plan on running digital air gauges, you WILL need more fittings. Only use those D.O.T. approved air fittings, dont use any cheap barbed fittings or Non D.O.T. fittings, that just gives you that much more chance to have a leak.

Running all the wires for the valves, switches, compressors, digital gauges, etc. alone will take a huge chunk of your time. Then youll need time to work out the kinks, because you WILL have a few airleaks. Hell, even teflon taping everything took forever! And try to have a spare car or a friend that can take you for an emergency trip to the autoparts store, just in case you need something (and itll always be something random, like more teflon tape, a spare fitting, or electrical tape or something lol).

So thankyou very much for all the compliments guys, like i said it really makes it all worth it in the end. I cant even count how many thumbs up's and questions/compliments everyone's given me while i've driven around the last week =) Now, i'm going back to bed. Drank WAYYYYYYY to much for my birthday yesterday and now im hurtin, and I'm going go karting in a few hours so I gotta be on point if I want to beat my brothers hahaha.

Yeah it'll be able to hop. I'm trying to work on some things on the system to clean up the wiring a bit. Gonna upload some pics from my phone of Frank_The_Tank's old LS so you have an idea of the adjustability of the hydros. And they're ridiculously stiff. I can jump on the car and it wont move up and down more than 1"

I might look into getting a custom alternator made so that I can charge the hydro batteries off of the motor. That's gonna take some work though.

This is still in Frank_The_Tank's donor LS
How it sits in the trunk currently (going to modify the bracketing a little bit I hope).

Hey Beeguy,

I have a question, from your pictures you posted on the first page with the car raised, is that MAX raised due to your shortend stroke shock (JIC's)?

also, do you have a picture of how you mounted the compressors and tanks? And lastly, what size (dimensions) are the 3 gallon tanks?

thanks very much!!

regards.

Yes thats the highest itll go because of the coilovers, but its more than enough to clear any speed bump/driveway youd hit. I dont have any pics of the tank/comp. setup yet. i havent had any time to mount them nicely, theyre just kind of sitting in the trunk right now (work too much )

The tanks are about 18"x6.5". If I were you i'd rather get (1) 5 gallon tank though. Yes 6 gallons helps, but its just hard mounting them to look nice.

Thanks guys =)

Honestly i dont remember how much it raised up, whether its higher than stock or not. When i had stock suspension, the shocks were crap so the car sagged a little, and then when I put the coilovers on I just slammed it. So now with the bags AND the coils, im totally lost on where it was stock hahaha.

Oh and about the plates, i replaced the front plate with a black and grey RUSNAK plate I had laying around... sounds kinda stupid, but it made the front look 10 times better to me LOL :pat:

My car came with RUSNAK plates too. I shouldn't have thrown it away. Rusnak sells exotics and high end cars I think.
