:D please....
depends on the tint, I think in general black tint looks a car look very nice.
i think it depends on the color of the car... :)
save your money............ NO TINT I dont know how to save my money so I went green tint ???
no tint on black carz!
agreed depends on the ride.
I say go for the tint, but get it done professionally, no Gila window film shit. :idiot2: And yes I agree with the above posted, what car do you want to put it on?
i have 5 percent limo tint on my black box, number one, the back windows come partially tinted already, and i live in florida, so its more of a comform matter for me and also didn't like the back being barely tinted and the front being untinted, so i matched them ;)
for this car http://www.pbase.com/epiworks/image/22674603 greenish accord
i would say no tint or real light...looks clean in the style it is..unless you need to hide something, stereo equipment or interior aftermarket parts..from thieves..or to protect your interior from discoloring or sun damage.... damn..you got buckets in the rear too....nice
Ohh wow jee wizz thats one of the sweetest cord's i have seen props. not much on the front lip but the rest is hot see all other cord owners need to take notes this is what makes a car stand not not bench wings not neons. This ohh and ontops car too.. hehe but damn I'd say a light green or a light black mind i ask what that wing and side and rear skirts is and are you running a remus muffler on that.
ive seen vip cars with 5% tint all around to vip cars with no tint. Personally, I have 5% all around and the 45% on the windshield and I like my tint.
i say dark tint, its more a function over form here is FL
I say go with tint.
it needs more guages.
Honestly it depends. If you don't want someone to see what you have inside, the tint is perfect and keeps the car cool. ;D
I'm a "no-tint" guy, but thats just me. I have seen VIPcars with and without tint, black, green and other colors. I would have to say it's up to the person's preference.
I like having no tint. After owning many cars with dark tint, it's nice to be able to see all around at night when driving, reversing and parking. (Plus, it's not too hot here in Victoria BC)
thanks guys, i guess im not tinting for now, the accord just in the process to be VIP style look , before that just plain a show car , thats why i have a bunch of goddies gauges bucket seatetc , now i try to make it simple towards Vip style , also trying to hide all the ugly interior with tint too :2funny: I just dont know if black tint with my greenish color match
i like tint on cars on all windows except the windshield i like tint on vans and suv's because it has a lot of windows and it looks like a glass showcase for the interior tinting is each to their own i think
I just like the privacy of having tint and others not being able to see me clearly. :o
i got 5% all around on my IS350. i love it.
I personally don't like tint...but I have seen a black mustang with a perfect tint job. It's hard todescribe, but basically you can see through the window even in the dark...the tint gives the windows that black shade. So I'm guessing it was something like a 45% tint or higher. But once again...no tint (allthough now I'm trying to figure out a way to protect my interior from summer sun without doing tint or curtains)
I think tint totally transforms the look of any car. IMO it makes the car look tougher (not to mention privacy, security and interior protection); so i have tinted all the cars i have owned. But i do think that the type of tint you get should match the colour. But I think black tint looks pretty plain and boring on dark coloured cars (except on BLACK cars). And since your car is dark green, I would go for either a mirror tint or a dark green tint (I believe mirror tint is considered ricey in the US)
i got a question. can the front windshield be tinted? oh yeah, if you want to stand out, rock the pink tint.

yea tint on the front and back windshield is a big NoNo in alot of places its hard to get away with 5% let alone windshields.

How do you guys drive with 5% all around. I was a valet for 4-5 years and I drove several celebs' SUVs. In the darked tinted ones, I couldnt see s*** when backing up. Yeah you have privacy, but you can barely see out at night in a dark area. I like a good 20% tint on a coupe. On a sedan, I think it looks good to go darker in the rear than the front (maybe even 5%). But 5% all around makes me afraid I'm gonna back over a little kid. Epi, what kinda motor you got in the Accord. I see a catch can, but no turbo!?!
i cant see shit when i back up at night hehehe... but i have a rear view cam and if i really have too, i'll jsut lower the windows since i drive with them down anyway :)
^ Ahh, rear view cam! Hooked up to a DVD screen or PC screen?

before i get in the car..i kinda see whats around..or survey the area..before i make a move..hahahha...
Where abouts are you that the back window is illegal? Back in '98 I was driving to LA with my gf. I had a 91 Integra with dark tint on the back 3 windows and medium on the sides. Within an hour of crossing into California I was pulled over for side window tint ha I told him it was legal in BC. He was pretty interested in the BC plates though asking if the car is actually from BC or not. Either way I wouldn't risk tinting the windshield if I lived in Cali after that experience ;)
In pennsylvania and up and down the east coast i believe the heat is big on that because of keeping conceled things. also for visibiity and stuff its not allowed to have the windsheilds done if any i think its the lightest it can be.
here in MD i believe legal is 20% on back and back side windows and 35% on front side windows. and the windshield is allowed 35% but only to the factory tint line, or no lower than the rear view, depending on the car, i think its about 3-4 in. but i wouldn't quote myself on that, they like to change things, you know.
i like tint.. here esp. in the land where the sun blazes daily. usually i go with 12% sides, 35% rear, and 35% full front windshield. the TL i got now only has 20% around, no front cause i bought the car that way.
Its 35% all around. My Accord has the 'MVA approved: 35%' stickers on the front windows. The rear sides and rear window had 20% and they made the guy strip it when he moved here from AZ. The guy mentioned this to me when i bought the car. When I did the safety inspection for it, they said 'Its too dark!' and I had to point out the MVA stickers. So now my car only has the two front windows tinted. Its ugly...
well if thats the case, i know a gang of illegal cars
its up to you..
I say it's a personal choice as long as it's done properly with some decent tint. Theres nothing worse than seeing some purple tint on a car...
imo, i would rock purple than yellow. it just seems nasty to rock yellow.
as nasty as yellow is (which i seen the other day on a yellow Grand-Am) :D why would you ever want to to rock purple? Why even bother wasting you hard earned money with that nasty stuff? Might as well leave the windows alone and get some window shades from your local Kragen or Autozone? Better yet use trash bags?
tint is cheap shit. i had dark purple tint and its dope color. when you rock leather seats and its fucking hot outside like 90degrees.. tint helps. im sorry im not ghetto like you to rock trash bags.
i really think there are two different stories when you get purple tint intentionaly and when your cheap black tint fades to purple and looks like crap, but i would like to think you could tell the difference being the intelligent people we are. and for the record, i don't care for yellow on anything.
When you live in cali and you have a black leather interior tinting is a must... I see this as similar to lowering a car, some people wimp out because they say they cant see out of the rear/not for me or some other excuser... tinting cools down the interior temp of the car drastically and i think it looks amazing when done correctly. Ive been driving with my tint for over a year and ive had no visibility problems, all you need to see at night really are other headlights, and when i back up i just use my side mirrors or just stick my head out.. and my rear window is 5%...
Theres nothing wrong with tint. Especially on a black car. The darker the tint the more stealth itll look and more luxurious. Alot of VIP cars in JPN are tinted. But any other color than black then i think is corny.
I'm an old white guy, did the limo tint thing when I was younger- got interviewed by the CHP too many times; I'm just done with the whole thing now. My MR2 and GS both have 70% tint (70% of the exterior light is transmitted). Light, classy, looks unique. Keeps me out of trouble. Besides, what's the point of having a pimp car if the ladies can't see you... :smitten:

:-[ considering heat in the bay area right now, my tint is saving me. i would go with tint just for its purposes imo.
I'd use curtains instead of tint...
I would say that black 35% is a overall classy look that lends itself well to EXE styling. I prefer dark tint simply because I believe it cleans up the "cluttered" look you get with clear glass and a full view of the interior. If you're daily driving the car 35% is great, just dark enough to look good yet offer good visibility. Any darker and I personally would save that for a limited use vehicle or a show car, but damn does it look good. What can I say, I like that "gangster"/none of your business look and attitude. :uglystupid2:
on black cars and most cars i like tint all the way around its the various shades that more of a concern as to style if u go with 20% all around its a nice tint as its not too dark u can still see out of it, and its not a huge contrast to the colour of the car 5% on black cars i think looks nice as well but all in all im a fan of tint, because it serves a purpose of keeping ur interior cooler plus i like it darker in my car, sets the mood
35% Charcoal...always classy...always looks nice, not to much, not too little.
i was thinkin about tintin my xb a dark color. but i wanted to ask ya,can we put the tint or the film they use on the bmw and the mercedes? ??? and if so what do ya think of that on a silver xb. just throwing that out their?
bB wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that treated glass? I had thought of doing that light green MB style before but it seems that it's mixed into the glass and I have yet to see light green tint that looked the same. To add to the problem, our back already tinted windows are dye glass as well, no one seems to make our windows un-dyed in the US. There is one guy that I am aware of that was able to import bB un-dyed glass from Toyota Japan directly...cost him something like 5 grand.

I had double limmo all around..Very nice and Gangsta..I mean Gangsta..nobody looks in nobody looks out.. IT got to dangerous for me driving in the nights...Its super hot in Tucson so tint is a must..I just took off my tint and I must say went from Gangsta to classy in a blink of an eye,,(my car is Ivory pearl) I really like it, For somereason to me, it made the car look more classy like maybe an old Vejito should be driving in it..not a 31 year old Mejicano..hahaha I will keep it like this for a while but I am thinking or rocking a Bronze Mirror tint..something different..or a real light Brown.. something with UV protection... All you guys rocking no tint..I now see why...stylish.. 8)
I just tinted my monroof on the Q, looks awesome. Any other Q owner knows that the glass is super light, so the sun gets in there and when it's closed with the plastic screen closed as well it looks like crap. That has been changed. Tint...no way.
is your are going to do interior upgrades like screens, upholstery, etc...no tint...if not...yeah i would go with legal tint...i guess depending where you live too...in hawaii...thats having a sticker...pull me over...but then again...dark tint looks nice imo
your car is not even close to the vip style :-\
especially on light colored cars window tint cleans up the look of the car because it hides the black pillars in between all your glass. from far away all three windows (the rear vent, rear rollup, and front rollup) all look as one. good tint is 99% UV rejectant so it saves your interior. if you park your car out all day it is going to get hot regardless, its metal; but at least the UV is rejected out of the car which is 40% responcible for ruining your interior. windshields tinted herre in cali is completely illegal. you can get your ride impouned for that, however all my car have a 70% tint on it. almost looks clear but it saves my dash from cracking. you'd be amazed how tint saves an interior. say we have a 93 accord come in for tint and it has old purple to be removed also. that car will normally still have a good interior. if another 93 accord were to come in never tinted, all the plastic trim, cloth, window seals, and headliner would all be falling apart. we pull door panels and the never tinted old cars always are already falling apart.
Very Important People would probably like some privacy 8)
