#164642Konbanwa VSC Crew.
My Name is Anthon Farrington, I'm from the Bahamas and I've always been infatuated with cars and the Japanese culture in it's entirety.I feel lucky since growing up in the Bahamas I get to see the best of all worlds in the automotive world (except the super exotics). I immediately fell in love with Japanese cars, especially those small cars that are so fast with so little displacement. I've also loved the clean lines and everything else I would see on the streets.
I first fell in love with VIP cars when I was in elementary school. There was an Asian kid in my school, whose dad would pick him up in a Toyota Celsior. It was burgundy, with tan leather and tan curtains. Of course, it was lowered on the stock rims, but the car was SO clean I could NEVER take my eyes off of it. Upon research I found out about VIP style cars and their supposed origins, (and to this day I wonder if that kids dad was a gangster :D) I fell even deeper in love with VIP cars.
Of course, being a young male, I was bitten by the speed bug. I fell in love with Silvia, and was determined to get her. I worked my arse off during summers to save up the money to import my own from Japan. Somehow, the money found itself walking away to buy the newest car magazines that came on the shelves. Especially when vacation time came around and I was in a bookstore somewhere in Florida, surrounded by mags I could never get on my island...
I finally got my chance when I got a Nissan 180SX, It was my beloved Silvia's sister, but I was happy nonetheless. I saved the poor girl after she was in a head on collision, I didn't do the framework myself, but the other cosmetic damages I fixed through much blood and sweat. I had MANY fun times in that car with my closest friends. Like watching the image of a midnight purple R33 GT-R get smaller because I had decided that I would turn my boost to stock and drive 3 friends home that day. Yup, that one scarred my ego a bit. I didn't expect to win, just keep up.
I was sad that I had to sell her to get my first car in the states, a Lexus GS300, but I was overjoyed that I was closer to my VIP dreams. Unfortunately though, the car had a rebuilt title and things started messing up from day 1... I got pissed off and tired of it, so I traded it for a 1995 240SX, FINALLY I had my Silvia (well, close enough). I boosted the stock engine to make her the unnoticed little sister who grew up to surprise everyone. Though, we should note that valve seals on a high mileage engine that gets a turbo added do not last long at all.
Even though I'm satisfied with my love, the VIP bug just won't leave me alone. So I'm planning on trading her for a Q45 so I can live in luxury again. Of course, it'll be another story when I go back home, seeing as the steering wheels here in the states are on the wrong side of the car...
Who knows, If I manage to scrounge the money to make my new lady decent and I get the go ahead to ship it back I guess I'll stick with her. Yet if I have to sell her, I will buy a VIP yota or Nissan from Japan, and the more it has done to it the better. I'll just have to change what I don't like instead of going through the hassle of buying everything new. I feel it's sometimes better that way.
If you read through all of this, I commend you. thank you very much for listening to my soul's ramblings. I'll be around here from time to time popping in random threads with random comments. Have a nice day!
