wheel fitment 101 tips????

hi guys. this my have been covered hundred times but i just cant find the right answer or i didnt seach hard enough. i have a 2003 honda accord and i am running 18 by 8 37 and 18 by 8.5 37. about to order new wheels and trying to figure if i would be able to fit a 9.5 wheels or not. so basically my question is when u guys order the prefect set how do u figure out the specs?

string and a jack.

thank grant.. but with the string idea i know i can figure the width but offset?

Try using the offset calculator.its a sticky.that's what I used to determine what offset I needed.

drape a string from your fender arch to the ground
put a cardboard wheel type setup on the hub to represent the mounting surface
measure from the cardboard to the fender. add 10mm
thats your max offset
then measure the cardboard to wherever you hit first
thats your max width

do your calculations

as they said... detertmine how far out you need to push the wheel to get it as flush as you need, be sure to check inner clearance although its usually not too much of an issue, find a wheel you like and plug the specs into a calculator.  yes i wanna see if i can fit 9.5 in the rear but i wanted to see if there is any way i can confirm before i order.. i guess i wil just order and MAKE THAT SHIT FIT!!!

even though i dont own a VIP platform .. i think a lot like you guys

people always ask me for wheel advice .. i tell them 1-2" diameter bigger .. 1-2" width bigger .. find your stock offset , minus that by 20 .. if they dont fit, smaller tire .. if they still dont fit, roll your fender ... if they still dont fit , pull your fender .. if they still dont fit .. go widebody

you forgot massive camber.

drive height was only like a half an inch higher so i dont drag skirts

measure properly and use the offset calculator (sticky).. its there for a reason
