**OFFICIAL NBA PLAYOFF/FINALS v.08**

There have been a few discussions about this years playoff and finals but no solid thread.  I decided to create now.  
 
What are the comments and thoughts on the playoffs so far??  I just think that there will be upsets this season.  Phoenix isn't doing so great but not yet eliminated, neither are the Nuggets.  What about the Jazz??  Cleveland??  I honestly thought the Hawks were going to get swept.  See what I'm saying?  Its going to be a tough playoff season and so far, I owe 2 people dinners :sad:
 
San Antonio doesn't really surprise me but I think they may be eliminated this year...or they take it all again this year!

OH MAN! I'm a advid NBA watcher and when it comes to the playoffs I get pretty crazy!

My team is and has always been the LAKERS! :dance: and lastnights game had me going crazy! That game was intense! I love how Kobe has matured and instead of arguing and fighting he jus let it roll off his shoulders and move on! That game was pretty physical w/ little calls! 
 
MAN the Boston/Hawks series right not is my fav! Both teams are shooting lights out! KG is having crazy year, Josh Smith & Joe Johnson were nutz last night! And this play by Johnson was INSANE!

San Antonio is no surprise as usual but I thought phonix would compete a little better. Sucks for the lakers though because I feel phonix is the better match up!
 
New Orleans/Chris Paul........No comment really needed there, that boy is da shit!
 
Magic look to be like one of the top to compete in the East which is alittle surpise to me
 
I hope the Cavs pull it out cause I'm not feelin all the trash talk from the wizards

76ers & pistons is a good series but don't really care much about them, Good games though
 
 
AND I NEVER liked the Jazz so I'm a little sad Tracey couldn't step it up w/ the rockets....

Lebron deserves to go far but the Cavs but I don't think the roster is deep enough to match the rest of the East!

Looks like the Phi game will be the only good one tonight w/ that series tied at 2-2

I was pissed when they released the new Hawks Jersey cause I have the Josh Smith Authentic.  Half my closet is full with Authentics of traded players or old Jerseys :sad:

Im disapointed at the Mavs.  Im a die hard fan of theirs since they had Jimmy Jackson and Mashburn.  I still think they can win it in 7 lol.
 
I think the whole Wizards and Cavs series is hilarious.  Lebron even started laughing when the crowd started yelling out "Overrated" for the first time while he was at the line.  It would be a much different series if Gilbert Arenas was 100% and having played the regular season.

I know how u feel my closet is full of authentics & throwbacks! I used to have a jersey for every day of the week for a month and then some! 
 
I still got Darius Miles Clippers Jersey, Almost all my Kobe's are #8 except for his dad's sixers jerzey which is #24 and T-Mac Orlando Jersey!

WORD!!! I love how people who don't live in L.A., and probably never even visited here just love to HATE on it.  Sorry, but L.A. is one of the coolest cities in the USA, we have EVERYTHING and more here.  Wanna snow ski?  No problem.  Wanna go surfing 2 hours later?  No problem.  Want any sort of ethnic food you could possibly imagine for dinner? We have that too.  

I've been all over the place, lived in a number of states including Texas (birth to 3 years old lol) and I can honestly say, there is no city I'd rather live in.  Maybe Miami is a close 2nd choice cause I  love Florida but for real, L.A. > all US cities.

Kobe fully deserved this MVP, he earned it. And watching the Celtics struggle so hard for that victory last night, just makes me hope they take the East :biggthumpup:

Nah, not you, or anyone in particular.  I've lived here since July 1996 when I left Maryland and drove out, only go back rarely to see my folks since they usually come out here.  It's just something I've noticed over the years, lots of outsiders hate L.A. and they really can't explain why lol. 

I'm not a Kobe fan, Fisher has always been my favorite Laker, but IMO Kobe definitely stepped up big this year and IMO he deserved it this year, not past years, but this year for sure.

I agree, I hated that 6 days off for the Lakers, I didn't have ish to watch!  Watched bits of a few other games, but it's not the same.  

That said, I think if Lakes win tonight, they're gonna sweep Utah....

Game should be really intresting!
Utah has great odds!
-They only lost 5 games at home the whole season
-2 out 3 games against the lakers they've won (one being at home)
-They have the hardest to play in arena (LOUD FANS & close to the court seating)
-Willams is learing how to copmete against Fisher and is averaging a double double in the post season!
 
but Boozer is haveing a terible post season and the lakers are playing incredible w/ great passing and a strong bench!!!

I dont count anyone out, I have seen too many upsets in my day, but I still believe it will be the Celtics Lakers.  Paul is amazing, but kobe will cancel him out in terms of stats so that series will come down to the other 8 guys on the court.  And i just think the Lakers have that advantage.

Paul Pierce would be a great match up for Kobe because Pirece aint afraid to go up against whoever is in front of him! Look at the match up w/ Pierce and Lebron. Pirece is bustin shots right in his eye! Also the celtics trap defense is big against the Lakers w/ kobe always tryning to drive to the whole and w/ the presence of KG that would be tough for Gasol! 
 
But way to early to stress about that game! I'm tryna figure out how the hell to get past the hornets!

You bring up a good point.  Cavs put up a good fight to the point of reaching game 7, which was just a few days ago.  Detroit is well rested and have been prepared for the next team to play.  They have found their niche and will put up a good fight, fo sho.  As said earlier, I am hoping for a game 7 btw these two teams...same with lakers and spurs. :)

- Lakers are the younger team and a much faster pushing the break, only park can keep up!
 
IMO the only thing spurs has is:
- Parker
- Outside shooters
- and more verterin experience
- oh and Ginobli's bitch ass derty ass flops that he gets to go his way
 
It might be a good game but I still say Lakers take it by at least 5 no more than 10

Everybody gave up watching basketball now?  Whats going on?  Now back on topic, with Boston is leading the series 2-1, will Lakers pull this one out? 

Keep in mind that game 1's score was neck and neck throughout most of the game.  Game 2, Lakers were a joke to them.  Game 3, the score was also neck and neck but the Lakers finally pulled through.  I believe game 4 is played in LA but will they pull another win tomorrow??  I would really like to see the Lakers win tomorrow b/c I am looking forward to a game 7!

The Lakers had the Celtics shytting bricks in the last minutes of the 4th of the second game..... a 24 point lead brought down to within 2 points is hardly "a joke" to Boston..... they were given a taste of the true Lakers style basketball. Will this go to game 7? Of course!!! I can see a three game win at home for the Lakers with a difficult 2 game road trip in Boston after that. My only concern is these games are being turned into a "Ref decided" contest more than a skills contest. This whole series I've been screaming at my T.V. because of these idiots in ref uniforms. Not just when they call or not call fouls on the Lakers but also when they do the same with Boston..... my motto is LET THEM PLAY!!!! damn f@gs.

I don't blame the refs too much, I don't blame on Academy Award Pierce either, I blame the Lakers. Flat out, you heard me, the Lakers. They showed they can play it up to Boston and leave them behind in the points. But to break down after the half like that when they are one of the strongest 2nd half teams in the league?!?!?!?!?! Pitiful. Now this will need to go to a game 7 in order to bring the championship home, which means winning both games @ Boston...... not impossible but it might as well be.......... I will nonetheless keep bleeding purple and gold. GO LAKERS!!!! :biggthumpup:

Yeah, I couldn't believe my eyes last night.  I even shaved off my beard this morning. All night I kept shaking my head in dis-belief, even when I woke up at like 4 to piss, I'm standing over the toilet in the dark, shaking my head.

Oh well, just a game.  We'll see if the Celtics finish us off on Sunday or if we can be the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 deficit.

yeah they'll win on sunday for sure but they can't go to Boston and win two in a row and that's a fact.......

THe Lakers wish they had Bynam right now, someone whos not afraid of contact. They cant use that as an excuse though since they finished the season first place in the west without him and they beat difficult teams in the playoffs without him. I actually like Kobe but I have to always pick the east to win (all star games and finals) since im from this side of the country.

I feel the same way about bryant.  Throughout the finals, its like 80% of the time he assisted.  I wish he was more aggressive...  He could have taken it to the hole and if he gets fouled, which most likely he will, he can go to the line.  He didn't do this though..  geez..
