QUICK HELP PLEASE!: 5x112 to 5x114
Ok so i found some Leon Hardiritt Bugels for cheep, but the problem is that they are on a benz right now, which is 5x112. So the specs on the wheels are 19x8.5 + 32 and 19x9.5 +35. The wheels will be going on a '03 GS300. How much would adapters cost and how thick would they need to be? Also, if i need spacers on top of the adapters how would that work? Also, what would the offsets need to be in order to be super flush?

First, you need to make sure that the rims have holes in the pads that will be able to clear your studs/lugnuts for the adapters.
If they don't you'll need 25mm bolt on adapters to clear the studs/lugs. Make sure you have shorty acorn lugnuts to sit flush with spacers.
I think 25mm adapters would make it sit flush anyways, so you might as well go with that.

there's lots of rims out there that are 5x114...just wait a bit longer and something will come up...
25mm spacer will be a tad too much...you will need
1) camber
2) stretch tire
3) roll fender/slight pull
but you can get 'em to work if you really want...

what's really pushing me to get these is that these are DIRT cheep.
So, here's what i'm thinking of doing with these wheels.
- getting the 19x8s rebarreled to make it a 19x10
- 25mm adaptors
- possibly shaving the pads to make it a higher offset if needed.
if i can purchase the wheels and do all this for under $2000 would it be worth it?
and, would i have a problem with the centerbore?

DON'T shave the pad. I've read on here, it's not something you should do at ALL.
Getting the wheels rebarreled AND getting spacers seems like a waste of money. Just start looking for other sets of rims if that's the case. If it's not EXACTLY what you want, it's not worth the time, no matter how cheap it is. Trust me...coming from experience here.

If your asking for opinions your gonna get the same from everyone pretty much and it will sound similar to this " Dont Do It Wait " . The reason is if you have $2000 to spend you could just find another used set of wheels on here maybe you have to save more but in the end your going to have something your not gonna have to F**k with . My 2 cents.

Yea, I've not found any machine shop that will shave the pad down...
However, I do know someone who's had both chrome and non chrome plated wheels that he had Filled, Re drilled and Shaved down and has never incurred an issue.
He's done this to a set of wheels he's been riding on for about 10 years now, he just found a new set of wheels and he's had those filled, redrilled, and shaved down.
It's not recommended, and yes, it does weaken a wheel if the design was orginally intended to have all that pad as support. However, as I've seen, if done right, it doesn't pose and serious threats.
That said, I would still look for another set of wheels, but if you insist and you WANT to shave them, you have to find a competent shop that'll do it. not too many people want to touch a job like that.
