Bump stops. . .

I have bump stops in the rear.  They were put there so my wheels dont shatter my fenders when I slam the car.  A few months later, I had my fenders radiused so now im stuck with a 1" gap.  How difficult is it to relocate them?  Anything I should be aware of before I mess around with them?
 
I don't have time to take it to my suspension shop because its about a 8-9 hour round trip.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks guys

to take out the bumpstops you do have to take out the suspension, remove the spring from the shock. Is the car just resting on the bumpstop right now? That must be a pretty harsh/scary ride. There is no where to relocate the bumpstop. You can cut them to make them short. I had to do that on my car. I cut about 1" off. 

But if the car is just resting on the bumpstop even when static, then you'll probably bottom out the shocks if you remove them. My advice is to take the suspension out, remove the bumpstop from the shock, and see the how much of the bumpstop you can cut without bottoming the shocks, and then re-install.

What are bump stops?  hahaha.  I remove every time I do a suspension, unless its just springs on factory shocks them I just cut them in half.  Get em out.  With bags you dont have nearly enough rebound to destroy the struts.

Are they inside of your bags? Didn't you have callaghan set up your suspension? 
 
If you can access them without taking off your suspension, you could just cut them out. They aren't very (shouldn't be) thick or hard rubber to take off.

Usually the guys back home would take out the bumpstop and raise the wheel until the desired ride height and measure  the gap before it hits. The differences is the new bumpstop size you're looking for.

If your bumpstop is of PU material, then it's 'safe' to cut. If it's original rubber, not so then.

Caoboy, Callaghan worked at the shop that installed the suspension.  He didnt actually do the install but he guided the guys that work there as to what to do (from what he told me). He quit years ago and I have not seen him on VSC since. Last I heard from him, he actually moved to my area but I have since broke my phone which had his number stored and I have no way of getting in contact with him. I hope hes doing alright

bump stops is when you blow your sub woofers and the bump stops...kekekekekekekekek

if you need to remove,  without needing to reuse them, just cut them out. i dont really think you can relocate them. are you on a hybrid setup, bagover, if so, then i wouldnt take out the bumpstops, but rather readjust the suspension. but if youre strut with bags, then id just cut it off.

on the F50 rear the shock and spring are seperate.   It's easy to take the shock out.   You do have to take the rear seats out to reach the upper mount bolts but thats easy also.  Bump stops are there to prevent you from blowing your shocks and to absorb the shock when it does near bottom out rather then metal to metal banging.   I wouldn't cut too much of the bump stop...just maybe the very top rib.   Usually bumpstops I've seen are conical with ribs.

I would just trim them until you get the desired look...like kaizer stated.

Sucks when you dont have the right tools.  I have to use the factory jack to get the car high enough to fit my 4x4 truck jack under it lol.  That jack weighs more then I do :pat:
