Im a mechanic and i do alot of sidejobs. One time a woman called me and told me her Ford Aerostar would not move in the drive or reverse position. Someone told her the transmission froze and that she needed a new tranny. So she called me and asked me if I could look at her van. So I went to look at it and started it right up and put it in drive the van lurched forward but didnt move then I put it in reverse and it did the same thing. I then totaly knew it wasnt the tranny and when I looked at the e brake it was fully locked. So I unlocked the ebrake handle and she was good to go. If I was a crooked mechanic I could have totally had that van towed to my house parked it in the garage for a couple days and charged her for a new tranny, not my thing tho to try to screw good people out of their money. And this happens alot! crooked mechanics trying to make a quick buck!
