Sessions Presents Platinum VIP (Fuji Speedway 7/20)

This weekend i finally stopped drinking for long enough to realise that there was a vip event on near tokyo. Well *near* was a bit of an underestimation as it seems. Left my house at 9am. Got to the event at 3pm, knowing the last bus back was at 4:20pm. So after $60 worth of trainfares, miles of walking and swearing, i got an hour to see this show with about 500 cars there.
 
(For anyone else going to an event held in the "Event Spot", if you catch a bus to Reien Iriguchi, just walk 500m to the Nishi (West) Entrance and sneak in through the Service Station... DONT walk the extra 2km to the Higashi (East) Entrance, so you can pay the 1000yen entrance fee, then walk 1.9km back towards the West entrance!!)
 
And in what must be the most ironic of comedic events, after all morning taking pics of random scenery and small-town happenings, the SECOND i walked into the event and turned on my camera, i got "Low Battery" warning, and was left without a camera...
 
So i pulled out my trusty J-phone, which isnt like the digicamera replacements of a couple of years ago (mine is more about internet/TV functionality, but it still has a 2mp camera). If i had my digicam working i would have taken 3x as many pics, because my phone takes about 3seconds to take each photo lol

This car made the whole trip worth it for me though... Just lovely (pity i couldnt find the owner, and i was too rushed to keep looking)

Overall a very fun day, even if the time at the car show was limited. I wanted to get out of Tokyo this weekend, and i succeeded! haha...

Awesome shots Dom!  I was at the track for the F1 race last fall and going / getting back was like you described exactly, except we were stuck in a muddy field for 5 hours waiting to get on a bus after the race.

Those pics are great though, that Ced you posted is hotness.  I'll be there in October, hope we can meet up and bring Grant along too.

No it can't be!  A non-vip chassis at a vip meet!  Hahaha...sorry, I just love how naive some people can be.  Great job on the coverage in a limited time.  The radius work on that is beautiful Dom, I totally see why you fell in love with it.  It's a car after my heart..haha.  Similar to the You Zealand car that you also took a pic of.  Love it.

Falk: For sure! Let me know what dates and i'll investigate what vip events are on during that time. If not, i am sure we can just hang out, and check out vip shops etc
Mike: Fender work is great, but for me it was the wheel choice combined with the colour, lack of chrome accents and overall balance. Its the first time i have seen 20s look at home on the Y32, normally they look oversized and comical

Others, thanks for the comments, it was alot of fun. I hope to go to a few more of these over summer... I already got vip owners telling me they wanted to meet up, so next time i will plan ahead and catch a ride with one of these cats...

Yeah, rainy season is pretty much over now. It wasnt all that rainy either (which i hear is actually not such a good thing). But yeah, now its just hot and humid...
 
Also, that White LS with the twin sets of LS600h projectors was soo damn clean... I did actually try to chat to the owner and his GF (Yumi, the one with the white UCF21 w/pink tints+interior), but they had a shop and they wanted me to buy some of their team stickers. I didnt feel like paying $15 for something i dont plan on using so i made my excuses and kept walking...
 
The tint on it is mirror green. I'm sure you will get called all flavours of rice if you rocked that in the states, but i noticed it on quite a few cars at the event. I quite like it actually, it certainly suits white cars. Its a similar look to the light green tint, but without needing to have a white interior to show it off...

That white UCF30 with the 2 pairs of LS600hL projectors is so sick. Im glad you took lots of pictures of it.  At first I thought it was overdone but now I think its one of the most baller cars out there.
 
 
 Was this event an actual car show or just a meet? Im curious to see what cars win throphies over there since the standards are so high.

Excellent shots especially in such a short period of time...so many phat rides in so little time I know it was tough

That was my thoughts exactly... "oh shit so many cars, i only have 1 hr!" Didnt help that i had to stay still for 3-5 seconds for each shot... My digicam takes a pic in under a second, so if i had that there would be at least 3x as many shots!

Agim, this was a proper car show, they were just starting to hand out trophies when i had to leave, i was SOOOO tempted to stay, but with no other way of getting home i had to jet

That set of headlights will cost you atleast $10k (Yes TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!).  These guys dont play games

Thats understandable.  Sometimes I have to leave early when hanging out with a girl without getting any because if I miss my late night bus, I have to wait hours for the next :pat:

custom retrofit from an ls600...those headlights aint cheap.
