Got the rears on...kinda

Ok guys I picked up a set of Falken Koblenz wheels...i know not VIP :slap: ...from my friend who had them sitting in his garage. Only paid $400 for the whole set. They are 19x9.5 et 35 (now +10 with the help of 25mm spacer) and 19x10.5 et 10. Pics of the front before spacer on the second page.

Was any work done to the wheel like shaved some off the pad of it? You shouldnt have that problem. If anything you can run a 5 mil spacer to solve the rubbing issue.

No nothing has been done to the wheels. The wheels had only been mounted never had tires put on either. I was planing on getting 5mm spacers but I just wanted to double check to make sure there wasnt something else.

Was the wheel bolted on o did u just put it on there without the bolts? Also was ur car used? Might want to check the suspension because it might be bent. Also was it only on one side?

good questions ... I bought my Bmw used and found out after an allignment that the passenger side will only go to -3 camber ... the rest of the car is at 0 ... so it is possible parts are bent ..

If parts are bent which parts would they most likely be?

Your strut body is what would be bent. But its probably the fact you are running a really wide wheel with a really high offset for a y33. My 19x9 et-5 has just a little more than in inch clearance to my coilover body and clears my bag with a stretched tire by a hair more than a credit card.

I bought all new stechs and kyb sr's so i dont believe those are the issue. I will take a complete photo op of both sides. But if nothings bent a 5mm spacer might fix the issue?

+35 is way to high 9.5. the JPusa Y33 had the same problem with the same offsets and width on his brabus wheels. you def need spacers to clear it

Yes 5mm spacer would do it, if it were my car id have new studs put in and get some 15mm spacers for a better stance to match how the rears is gonna sit.

I wanted to get 15mm project kics spacers but would that push it way past the fender? As of now it looks like the wheel is already poking past the fender.

Bingo.

That offset is almost a stock offset and the stock wheels are only 7" wide. Even with a 15mm spacers it's not enough, you need about 1" spacers to make those wheels closer to the fender. The back offset is fine, front is just way off. If the strut housing was bent (nearly impossible to do on a Y33 outside of a pretty big accident) the KYB SR inserts wouldn't even go in.

9.5 +35 poking? thats weird and we put a 9.5+35 on a Q45 and it fit fine. Maybe your car is a special one hahaha!

All this time i thought he was talking about a F50. Either way Just add the spacer and you should be ok and as far as poke it shouldnt poke with that offset unless u have a fatty tire.

19x9.5 should have about +0 to +10 offset to be flush. +35 will be very very sunken in and being 9.5" wide is the reason it rubs the strut. You need 20-30mm spacers and it won't rub.

Those will look great and provide a very nice stance. What tires are you gonna be running?

The highest ill go is 245/35 but im might do 225/35. The prob is I dont trust the tire shops around me to stretch the tire correctly. I would like to stuff as much rubber in it as I can. Ill make my final decision after I get the spacers. The backs ill probably stuff 275/30.

A 235/35 and a 245/35 would sit nice with the sizes you have and be a whole lot less than the 275/30's. Just talk to the manager or head tech at any tire shop and tell him you are willing to wait to have an experienced guy do so they are not scratched when stretching the tires. I have had the local discount stretch many many tires for me without a scratch.

Ok guys I got off work and tested the wheel on the passenger side this time. I probably didnt use the easiest or safest method in testing it. I got same results as the driver side but this time i fully jacked up the wheel it looks like it is not poking out from the fender so im good there. But i def need a 25mm spacer. Heres the pics.

Those are nice wheels! I bought C4Pres' Kics 15mm spacers to clear my BBK (which is now on and finished) and the Kics spacers are very nice quality. I think you'll be happy.

Thanks for the comments. I know that they're not vip but they are super clean and for 400 bucks it was a great deal.
