North East Coast VIPstyle meet?

Im making this thread to try to spark some interest so we can get this done in the near future.
 
 
Right now I just want thoughts and comments onto who is interested. This first post will be updated once the offical date, time and location are set.
 
 
Please lets try to keep this positive. I know VIP style is still not that big in the area but this will be a good start. Get to meet new people, look at new rides, talk trash about the west coast :shrug: (JK)

Yeah been mad busy with that but made a few calls. Reached out to Rallye Lexus to host it but havent heard anything back yet. We have 2 shops that will offer some giveaways and raffles.

If this gets done right. VIP exposure will be a sure thing on the East coast. Agi can you get Rides magazine to cover the even and shoot a spread on an upcoming style?

Honestly, I doubt it.  THey always seem like they are real busy trying to meet tight deadlines but I will talk to a few of the guys cause its worth a shot

I'm not sure about this.....after a few years, the east coast still has very, I mean very few VIP cars.  I spoke to Rides and they are interested in going in a different direction, but their idea of VIP are Bentley's, Ferrari's, Aston's, etc.....NY style VIP  =)

So we need to get some exposure in some Japanese VIP mags atleast

Or just find a different Magazine; Only a hand full of people can afford ferraris lambos, bentleys etc. That would be a bad choice to go a dirfferent direction because there are already PLENTY OF MAGAZINES out there that cover those cars. but Vip? name one in the states.

That's the problem.....you start a VIP mag in the USA, 6 issues later and you've run out of cars to photograph.  On the east coast, there may be about a dozen or two VIP platform cars with any types of VIP "style" mods.  Out of those, there are only a handful that could even get the attention of a Japanese traditional VIP magazine.  It doesn't matter how many magazines cover the high end cars.....the point is to sell magazines.  I've spoken to all the national magazines....most have covered a VIP car, but not many do it month after month.  It's a niche market, not a mainstream scene.

^Build a car for your needs.  Don't let a Magazine or car show Judges dictate how you want to mod your vehicle unless you are benifiting from it financially.  Dumping $30k in your engine or trunk will get you a magazine feature alot quicker then spending the same money on building a vip styled car.  Its your call to do what makes you happy.  Mod at your own pace

I do see all of the points that you are making however, I do think a US vip magazine could achieve some sort of sucess with very careful planning. There is risk involved in every business. Hopefully someone with all the right connections and funds will take this risk.
 
There are about 100 vip cars in the Japanese  magazine rotation that are always featured. Most of which get featured in the magazines more then once a year after they make some sort of changes to their rides. Im not saying a monthly issue has a shot of making it but If a bi-monthly or seasonal magazine was to launch here, people would try to one up each other to get in the next issue. That also means more money is being spent on parts and the vendors will profit.

i agree with a seasonal issue. we dont need a monthly issue yet. 4 issues a year and  it WILL catch on.... its not even a question 4 issues and alot of event exposure across the u.s. and a. :dance:

Ill be there rain or shine but my car is still "hopeful."  Im having more suspension issues, this time its the other side.  After I get that sorted out, I need to fix and repair my front bumper which was destroyed from getting on and off flat beds 6-8 times since the Rides photoshoot :sad:

LOL.  It doesnt look like the strut this time but the wheel cambered in like crazy again.  If you want to swing by my Staten Island crib, ill pay for the toll and ill bbq while you look at it :biggthumpup:

remember this is the first vip meet anyone who attends will be considered the pioneers of east coast vip. if i had a check engine light? what better place than the #1 lexus dealership in New York. Their lot is the size of 1/8 of boston bro.

i will roll wit the check engine light on no problem... its just the fact that i have preety much NO suspension at this point. i have hit my head on the roof of my car too many times. i just have a bad feeling about driving slammed on broken suspension for that long of a trip i wil see if i get my stuff in on time
