wallets with coin compartment

How many of you boys have a wallet that comes with a coin compartment and actually put coins in there? Also, for those that do not put coins in there exactly how thick does the wallet get w/o any coins in there? If you can provide pictures of your wallet, that would be excellent.

LOL, great topic... I recently bought a couple of wallets with coin pockets (one after another cos the second one was better!).

(warning - no pics, i'll describe them instead)

My main criteria were that the coins had to be accessible and the wallet must be as flat as possible (i did NOT want a latch-style wallet). The wallet i had before that had a small zipped up coin compartment which made me look like a street bum fishing through a bin for some food every time i had to get a coin out of it!

First attempt was a Jag wallet that had a large zipped compartment that went the whole length of the wallet (i.e. like a zipped note compartment). This allowed me to see my coins easily when i needed to access them, and when there were alot of coins in there you could shake the wallet to space them out evenly to get the flattest possible profile. That was only $50 or so.

Then when i was in Malaysia i got a MontBlanc wallet that had a buttoned coin compartment [i]as well as[/i] the zippered note section. I am actually using the coin section now, and its not too bad. 

{-.-}, I never actually considered a coin purse before. I always picture my dad when i think of those though. If i have to use coins i like it to be quick and painless, get the coins out and leave the store without having to fish around for the right change...

Speaking of pink wallets, I must admit this is pretty nice for a Louis piece:

im done with lv wallets. the reason why i made this thread is b/c the wallet im looking at has a coin compartment but i dont like the idea of having a thick wallet. my bifold is already thick as it is without a coin compartment so getting this new one will be insanely thick. I guess it benefits in a way b/c now I can pick up chicks easier b/c of my fat wallet.

I gave up wallets all together. I now carry a money clip that can hold 5 cards and cash at the same time.

yeah forget change, i use a steel bussiness card holder. perfect for some cash folded in 3 and all my cards(DL,Visa, and actual bussiness cards)

hmm yea i do a money clip see the thing is im a business man and well if im doing a 2 dollar pleather plastic coin holder wallet. 

Well i wouldnt be very buisnessy now would i?. I think not so yea couple slots for card and clipped for money done!!!!.

on a side note a friend of mine got a $500 bonus and blew it off on one pair of pants and a wallet. he said he spent $300 on a pair of LV pants and $200 on a LV wallet. i told him that he was pretty stupid(my opinon) and that i would have gone to the GAP, bought a pair of $30 jeans and a $10 wallet so i could put $460 in it

hahaha mcnugget! yeah thats him. not to ''double thread jack'' but this guy was a bit robust and he wore an orangesweater to a party. he looked like a McNugget from the old mcdonald's comercials. well after 6 years he's know as ''mcnugget''

Dude more expensive jeans fit and feel better. I love my 7's. I would never do LV wallet just because everyone who wants a brand-name wallet gets one and they all get the same pattern. I'd go for Prada or Gucci with a little badge that says what it is. BUT recently I've been putting my cash, CC and ID into a little pouch with a cool design on it. Chicks love it because it's different and it does not stick out or show through my jeans (no imprint). But later on I will definately invest into a better wallet...no coin compartment though...too big.

wallet w/ money clip. the funny thing is that sometimes i get lazy and just stuff the bills left over from change inside my pockets. same goes with the coins. :)

I used to carry change and stuff in my pockets but I have so much other crap in them now, I can't. My house and car keys (that's 6 keys and two keychains altogether) and a chapstick occupy one pocket while my cell phone stays clipped to the inside of my other pocket, along with a pack of gum, and Kleenex if I have a runny nose. If I put change in my keys pocket I can't find it amongst all the jangling keys, and I can't even fit my hand in my cell phone pocket without taking the phone out.

My old (got it in 4th grade) Maryck & Co. wallet is a bit big, but it holds a lot of coins (I've had over 20 loonies in there), cards, and misc. flat things (reciepts, coupons, memos). I'm in the market for something lighter for everyday use, but for "cargo" this thing has never let my down.

I usually have to carry a lot of crap too. What I've done now is separate my car key from my house keys. If I drive, I just leave the house keys inside the car. If I go to the club/bar, I only grab my ID and CC/cash. I actually sopped carrying chapstick on me (had a little melting accident back while wearing white shorts :-[)
I've had my Eddie Bauer wallet since freshman year highschool...now I'm a senior at a university (so almost 8 years I think).

I just realised it may be different in the US with regards to money clips vs coin pockets. In australia the smallest note is $5 and we regularly get $1 and $2 coins as part of our change. I am not rich enough to chuck $4.50 worth of change away if that is enough to buy my lunch!

So yeah, coin pockets are important for me...

And on the topic of what to carry; wallet, keys, phone. Nothing else goes in my pockets (MP3 player in jacket pocket if i am catching a train). If i am going clubbing i try to palm my car keys off to my gf to carry in her handbag

In Canada our smallest note is also the $5, so I'm stuck with a lot of coins whenever I pay cash...which is why I love using my debit card =)

that sucks for you guys..we have $1 bills. Plus I use cash only when going to clubs/bars or sometimes when I'm eating...so theres no change. Also our parking meters now accept CC, so I don't have to carry any change :)
