06' GS300 Project Car

Hello, i just moved this post from the introduction forum so that i can have the opinions of everyone. Unfortunately i will not post any pics of the car till after everything is done, but the shots that are in this post are the before shots..
 
The car will not have those rims and will have an air runner system on it when its all done. The grill and bumper canards will be off as well as the spoiler and roof spoiler. All new parts will replace them.

I was told about the meet unfortunately this weekend i cant make it, but any eastcoast meet you guys have i would love to represent vip...definately keep me updated and im kind of upset that i cant make it i would have loved to be there...

Thanks, yeah i can say you def helped with that one....i started looking through pics of them and searching for varianza's on 3 gen gs's and these just kep poping in my head and i figured with the artisan kit these would be perfect...expensive but perfect.  after spending so much 3k is still a hell of alot :pat:

Hey what do all you think of these side and rear tables...do you think they would be a little tacky, i want the interior classy and the front table looks good, im just thinking these might get a little over the top? opinions....thanks :)

The tables are a little much imo but everything else you have on the list should look great I cant wait to see this all come together...

tables are cool, but they can clutter the interior. i'd say stick to a dash table and leave out the side tables, or leave out the tables altogether.

Garson just contacted me back and they got in afew new pieces for my car that wasnt on my mod list(they didnt have it yet and i didnt pay for it till yesterday)

The car will be mostly all Artisan Spirits and Garson, but will have alot of other items and custom work, but will be mostly those companies..

Just wanted to say the car is pretty much done with mods for now...Just going to wait for them to come in and get installed and then the custom work..

As far as I know, only Junction Produce makes a LHD (left hand drive) dash table.  Im sure you can flip or modify a RHD table but im just giving you a heads up so you know what to expect

Yeah the front table that i have is the Junction Produce one, im using garsons table rings, coasters and there coaster lighting on the lhd junction table... thank you for the head up.  Those pieces will work fine on the JP table though.   Thanks again.  :thumbsup:

cant modify the RHD ones.  I have a brand new garson one for the LS that I cant do anything with.  Now I have to shell out more money for a LHD table from JP. :pat:

hey those rotors looks like the R1 Concepts premium rotors.

To tell you the truth i dont even know who makes the rotors...i bought them when i first bought the car and i put them on with the zenettis. They lost there shile and they have a bit of rust and that wouldnt work so i got another 4pcs from a lexus parts site online (dont know if i could say wich) but they just have them as "06+ gs300 rotors" no brand name and i didnt care because i already had them and love them. They look great and feel great :biggthumpup:

There is nothing like comming home to boxes of car parts. Especially when you ordered a whole bunch of things and you don't really know what to expect (assuming you dont check tracking numbers lol)

cant wait to see everything come together ... and glad you got to take some advice from some  of the members online .. also Hmm havent seen a  3rd gen ith halos . Like most here we say keep them on the bimmer but do you have a reference picture to show the difference ?

+1 Might look mehh with all of the other nice parts you have.

For the halos, i wont put them on if i think it will screw up the look, but ive seen them on a 3gen gs and they looked good with the hids....but then again it might end up in the pile of things to sell

I got the smoke screen kit and the switches for the interior ill post pics tomorrow...that would have been a maybe but the company thats makes them are going to use my car as demo for them and so i volenteered (sp?)  plus you cant see it since it comes out the exhaust.

Yeah its definately fun and these next few weeks i might be getting a box a day...im waiting for the 2 really big orders..those will be fun to find. and im not checking the tracking numbers.
 
I havent seen this kit really on any 3gen gs's, i think the kit is very nice im really excited for it..
 
I heard the meet was pushed back bc the possible weather problems we are gonna have this weekend...and also that a second eastcoast meet is in the works wich im definately going to be at for sure..:biggthumpup:

i wanna see pics of stuff other than a bunch of knick-knacks and halos (ew). And a gs that has cheap, cheesy wheels. call me a hater...but i want proof. you keep making all these updates, but all the pics are either not of your car, or of little cheap stuff. i guess we'll wait and see!

That is my car with the cheesy rims, yes they are and ill admit it and i dont care because its my car and my choices and yes im into vip now and thats why i ordered new rims that are much nicer and will change the look of the car along with the suspension.  I wasnt into vip before and now its my new love and im taking it seriously.
 
I dont need to show you anything...im sharing my project with vip style cars because everyone so far seems like good people and you are very knowlegable and i def want your opinions thats why im here.

you didnt blow up man, its all good. how much you spend deosnt matter BTW. you can spend 30g's on it all you want, but the right person that knows that their doing could dump 5 g's into it and make it look 10x better and more "vip". id much rather see your car laid out on some nice wheels with amazing fitment, than filled up with a bunch of pillows, lights, and junk. i hope your project does go in the right direction. if you need help along the way (especially suspension wise) hit me up!

yeah but you could also spend 30gs and make it look good....like i said earlier in the post i bought verianza's 20" and i got the air runner suspension and the fitment will be perfect i put alot of time and research into that one.  wait and see that one...the air runner might cause me some problems with the awd...
 
and my car will look damn good...believe me.  ill be at the shows and possibly sponser the one at the end of next month...my car should be mostly complete by then...

 
and by blowing up i didnt mean on this forum...but its all good.  the meet should be fun and i appreciate the fitment  and suspension help comment. if i do need help ill def ask, thanks.  With the air runner possibly not being able to work, or having to make some adjustments...i might need all the help and sugestions i can get..
 
oh and also the first things that came in are the little pillow, lights, ect..all the good stuff is in two giant orders from Garson and an aritsan dealer (cant say the name on here)....so the only things to take pictures of are the B.S. pieces... 
 
my new love is vip, and i wont mess it up with afew lights or pillows...if it doesnt work its gone.  you should see my other cars that ive done..i would have my brother bring a diff one but they arent vip, but still real fun to look at and drive!  so maybe if some of you wanna go for a quick spin ill bring my 9sec 1/4 mile new bodied mustang (its still a fun car)..

Also like i said i appreciate all your guys comments and ideas, but in the end im doing what i like and im not f*ck this up believe me...and also i am going to do this once, this pieces that dont work arent going to be on the car and i am going to sell them. One problem ive had forever is that i buy on impulse, i wish i didnt but i do with everything and i cant help it...:shrug: so alot of stuff was bought on impulse some that might work and some that might not, but im still doing this once and right....=)

1) most of this stuff is garbage, staight up. xo vision monitor resolution sucks, cliff designs is just ma audio rebadges, but i have heard some good things about powerbass... something to the tune of "great value for $15 subs". this stuff does not belong in this build and i would not want it in any of my cars, much less representing my business.
 
2) 50 farad cap!? :pat: that's the biggest paperweight i've ever seen and the equivalent of accidental suicide in the car audio world. if you want any credability you better skip this.
 
honestly, this seems like things you should know as an a/v wholesaler.

^^i have to agree although im not really all that audio savvy, i wouldnt put this stuff in my car either.. its all really cheap shit.. if your investing all this money into the outside of the car, might as well spend a few more chips on quality audio parts. imo

or leave the audio factory since the lexus audio owns (even though the earlier ones with nakamichi was better imo)

Remember im in the car audio business and own my own company so this is my life now and all i know.  Im actually one of the larger wholesalers in NY.. (didnt know you sell car audio, what other merchandise do you sell?)  i know the quality of those pieces and i agree with you 100% i know that they are not the type of stuff you would want in a build like this.  The reason im putting them in the car is because i took on all these lines and im trying to push them as much as i can for now since business is so bad in this field at least in NY it is...all our customers are dropping like flys.  All these pieces will be changed after my business has its annual car show at the end of the year in early december.  The way they are building the system it will be easily changed and might be changed several times just to support the product lines im selling or trying to get out.
 
Now for my personal opinions on these units...
 
XO-Vision, def not in the top lines when your talking about monitors, id say towards the middle of the pack, but im trying to help the owner a little and she such a nice lady.  Also they got a nice assortment of products.
 
Powerbass, i took this line on about a year ago and that was probably the best thing i did in the past few years.  People love this line and like you said the prices are great for the quality of the units.  They have a great line, also quality wise middle of the pack for thier basic line, but for the price its def up there.  There high end is really quality stuff id say its up there, bot top of line, but close.
 
Whip Audio, personally this is the hottest selling speaker for the past year or two over here,  the speakers are really crisp and personally im probably going to change them with everything else, but thats the best sounding piece of the bunch right now.
 
Clifdesigns, im on the verge of stopping to do business with them, but im giving it till the end of the year, i actually like there products and the subs actually hit pretty hard and they have a really heavy magnet, but i dont like the owner and they give trouble sometimes with warranty...we'll see.
 
Oh yeah and for the rebadging most of these companies do it and its funny that theres some lines that that one factory in Chine makes for 4 to 5 different companies and sometimes more...and we are talking about the exact same piece...funny thing is the range in prices is crazy because the only difference is the logo..
 
 
 
So till my show in early December these pieces will have to stay even though i do know the quality isnt there, believe me.  But after then it will be changed to all top of the line stuff for the real car shows i will be bringing the car too....

Me personally I havent changed out audio in my car yet but I am very familiar with Ma audio and like the products or amps that were made ... maybe some jl w7 , or punch dvc's , or solobarics  i know those knock ...

at least you acknowledge what you are doing. personally i couldn't do it (install) and probably couldn't even sell a lot of that stuff. i get attached too my products. i don't sell audio (other than stuff i swap out, which is damn near a small shops worth :laugh:), but i do sell car parts and i have to refer a lot of buisness because there are some thintgs i just won't sell. meanwhile the other guys are ballin out of control selling cheap s**t. :dunno: defintely can't hold it against them, they're gettin money and i'm passin it up.
 
definitely feel you on the rebadge tip. the system i've put together for my budget q install is basically all parts that have been found to be price effective counterparts of high end audio.

anyway... i wouldn't do it and i think the effort would be better spent putting in your top of the line gear and pushing that but it's your car. you really think (4) 6.5s, (4) tweets, (4) 8s, and (3) 12s will even sound good? seems like a system that won't do much more than get loud to me.

Last week i got a small order from [B]Garson[/B], it was the few pieces they had in stock from my order and the rest of it will be in by friday this week, everything except for the [B]floor mats[/B] wich they are customized it for me and making it fit in the 06' lexus gs for a left handed drive car...
 
Everything else is being shipped out Tuesday by freight from Cali to NY so will take about a week, the only thing that will take an extra week is the [B]Artisan Spirits[/B] trunk spoiler, roof spoiler, and fog lights.
 
All the parts coming in are taking much longer than i hoped, but as far as the parts coming in everything is just about here and whatever is not is going to be within 2 weeks or so....
 
 
Everyone wants to see pics and i still dont have any of the car yet so i might as well give afew of some garson stuff....yes i know this is the garbage small pieces that do nothing, but im just posting it because i said im going to update everything that comes in and everything that will be done to the car, weather its good or bad/big or small..

sure did buy a lot of line crystals. how set are you in putting those in? i know you didn't ask my opinion but those are about the tackiest things i've ever seen, even in the garson website pics. hope you change your mind on those, or surprise me and come up with a classy application for em.

I feel like people are taking this build the wrong way...so i was going to hold off on updates till i get some stuff done where everyone could see the direction im going.
 
It will be amazing though in the end....im putting everything into this one.

UAS Auto Leveling kit and Digital Gauges for the air suspension

Then i bought the Fabulous eye lids, but im starting to have afew to many chrome pieces so i took off the chrome eye lids i had and i got the unpainted eye lids so i can paint them with the body kit. 
 
I also took off my lxmode chrome door handles so i can have the handles painted and i bought a new set of the carson tuned handles wich are much nicer and are the whole handle. I also got a new set of the rain guard visors b/c mine were coming off and on one side they are sticking even with new double sided tape and silicon because of a crack.
 
Theres actually afew other things i cant remember off hand....
 
 
Im thinking about waiting afew weeks to post an update so that everyone can see where the build is going and not get the wrong idea...

Im not bragging about money, first off and im taking offense to your post.  I grew up with nothing and everything i have is from hard work.  This money is not money out of my pocket, im using money from my business.  If was to take it out of my pocket i wouldnt have any left.

this car is gonna be insane when it is done.. i like the grill you are getting i would probably pass on the one that you got on accident too.. glad that your taking the time to build this.  however the anticipation is killing me haha

it sounds like you wanted the emblemless version, but then you mentioned that you have an emblem for it. i could go either way.

hope you don't consider me one of the "always have something to say". i know i've gave you a couple thumbs down on some items but that's honest feedback. just want to see the build be all it can be. and i say if you got it flaunt it. nobody should be offended by someone else's success, especially when it's something they have worked for.

haha no your good, i actually like your feedback and take it to consideration every time actually, its these other guys who dont know what they are talking about that i have the issue with.  Ive actually used your feedback already into my car so thank you and keep it coming good or bad  ;)
 
Also about the side blinkers, i like the idea i just dont like the yellow led bulb that i cant change..thats my only issue with it.

you can [I]always [/I]change leds. my thing is you bought so many accessories during the planning phase that come build time if you put it all on you may end up over accessorized. things like side blinkers are hard to come back from (hole in the fender). i would put on the basics when you finally get around to assembling, paint what you gotta paint but not install everything. get used to the car in it's new state, maybe even wait a week or a month, [I]then[/I] add where you need it. this goes for interior and exterior. if it's not a easily and completely reversable mod give it a little time.

as for the grill, i could go either way like i said. i just didn't know if i missed something. i knew there were only 2 choices.

its overkill on the sidemarker lights if you have the mirror lights.

what you should do is for the sidemarkers, run them as a small light and have them on all the time and not blink with the mirrors. i think itll be too much to have them both blinking.

Also for the posts on the side winkers. I wouldnt have both the mirror and the winker blinking...i would have the winkers set up on a switch and keep it as a light.

grazio stuff looks good, not a fan of the headlight trim however. if i were going the black chrome route i would try and find black chrome housing headlights.

you can change that by going into the control panel and changing the options.  I couldnt deal with that AT ALLLLLLLLL so I HAD to find the fix lol.  :biggthumpup:

1)The pieces that still havent arrived are below, its still alot!  but next week half of the pieces below will arrive i have trackings...i made a list for that, more pieces might also be coming, but i dont have tracking on them.
 
2)The most important pieces below are the artisan spirits fenders and trunk spoiler, thats the only thing holding the project back from starting with paint, but they are supposively gonna be here soon and then i can strip the car and paint and basically everything will start going on.  I also need to get the Junction Produce bonnet spoiler and the toms rear fender garnish for paint also, but they can be painted after the fenders are needed before i can start....damn wait!!!  :ughdown:
 
3)Once im ready to start painted it will only take about 2 weeks or so at most to put the mods on.  Then i have to start doing the custom work in sections starting with the first pack wich includes suede/leather interior, flip down marble tables, massaged seats, custom l.e.d.s & lighting throughout and the custom system and monitors...

they made it custom for me, they only make the rhd ones...ive been talking with them and they will probably sponser my car as well as artisan spirits...:dance:
 
 
car is starting on friday ...the air suspension, exhaust, and toms suspension parts are going on first.  i was waiting on the fenders, but im going to start and when they come in ill have them put on and the car painted...

-You Zealand Camber Adapter SS Kit
-JDM White LED Door Sill Strip Lights (8pcs)
-UAS Air Suspension Height Remote Control
-UAS Digital Quad Air Pressure Monitor Gauge
-UAS Black Faced Air Pressure Needle Gauge(2pcs)
-UAS Dual Gauge Bracket
-Car Cover (not really a mod, but its needed!)


The car is in the shop for afew things written below...this is the start, im going to have each install done in steps with afew things getting done each time...[/SIZE]

[SIZE=3]-Air Suspension is being put in...as well as the ride height controller & digital gauges
-Toms Suspension being put in as well includes the 6-link suspension, rear lower brace, front lower brace..
-Painting the calipers Black w/ decals on the front ones
-Getting the car re-Tinted to 20% all around and either 50% or 35% on the front windshield
-HID headlights 6000k getting put in..[/SIZE]
 
 
 
[SIZE=3]....When they finish with this im giving them another group of mods to put on as well as other work and then the body kit pieces and paint will be done..then the interior will be last part...car should be ready in about a month or month in a half and then i will have the apolstry(sp?) done with black leather and suede throughout the interior and start the other custom work...:dance:[/SIZE]

i know :sad:   its taken way too long.  i wish that they would ship parts out in a reasonable time frame, but i was an idiot to think that would happen....i still cant believe that i still didnt get all the original mods i ordered!   
 
at least the work has finally started and i almost got everything in, makes me feel a litttttle better :pat:

definately bro i appreciate that...youve helped me in the begining alot, good that when i get into something i go all out, as you cant tell...but i already know the ins and out and i know what look im going for....
 
thanks, im not sweating it anymore i was hoping this car would be done along time ago. i didnt expect to keep waiting on mods for so long wich is why this post is "so boring" i would have loved it to be over a long time ago but i guess that would take some of the suspence out of it. just cant wait to see how it all looks at the end...i know i wont be able to please everyone

thats all good...i know tell me about it, its actually been longer for me, but finally got the damn car in the shop so at least the build part is finally starting.  hopefully it will be all over in a month or so, hopefully...took this long already so i dont want to put dates on it anymore heh

Most likely but he still had to have the money in the first place to get everything.  The car is not done yet.  Remi from the show unique autosports, is doing his system and custom interior.  When its sad and done with, the total should be more then double of what he has listed here.  I don't really agree with listing how much you paid for something as the title but give him a break, he was a newb and had to get all of your attention somehow.
 
Hes a cool guy though.  He came to 2 of our BBQ's with like $100 worth of food and thats as a guest.  He gets my approval

I dont doubt he's a cool guy, just stating that this could be a tax right off.
