water separtors

im plannin to run 2 viair pump with one 3 gallon aluminum tank.....  does these pumps produce alot of water? i would rather not run one due to i dont wanna keep having to get into my trunk and have to drain the water separtor all the time, 
 
since the tank has a drain plug, i rather run a line out from the drian plug, then out to the bottom of the car, and i can just drain the tank out anytime without having to dig into the trunk and the water can just drip out into the ground....
 
 
and one more stupid question, is it safe too tee off two compressor into on port of the tank? will they end up fighting each other or anything?

Hello, which Viair pumps are you planning to run? I want to upgrade to a 480C myself.

Anyway, I think any compressor pump is bound to produce water when you compress air. The relative humidity of your area is going to play a big part in that. I see you're near Sac, I used to live an hour from there and know it gets pretty humid in some places. I would definitely suggest running either a trap or at least a purge/drain valve. 

As for running two compressors into one tank, you shouldn't have any problem at all with that setup, I've seen it done many times. It's always suggested to run inline check valves between the compressor(s) and tank(s), but I think all of the Viair compressors come with them standard in the leader hoses.

I would say run the water trap.. 
 
Its not only the humidity but the air that the compressor is pumping is also warm or hot..as it cools you get condensation..  if its in your car that your going to mount it.. you can do the same with the hose to the drain plug and the water can drip out side the car.. 
 
IF your going to run 2 pumps.. i would tee them together before the water trap.. you want to mount the water trap on the inlet side so you can catch the water before the air goes into the tank. I know you said your using the Viair compressors. I know the check valve is already on the hose... you might want to add anouther check valve after the water trap becuase I seen air leak come from the water traps in which cuases you to loose air in your tank over night.. adding a check valve after the trap eliminates air to leaks from the tank if the trap sould leak... 
 
As far as it fighting if you tee it.. it shouldnt becuase they both are pumping.. IF i was you i ust run one compressor.. becuase your only running a 3 gal tank.. and it dont take that long to bring it back to 200 psi from 160.
 
IF you really wana get anal about water traps.. you can also run onemore on the outlet of the tank.. but you dont really need it like that.. I been runnning with just the trap oon the inlet and no water in my tank and i live in Hawaii where its alway humid.. I usally drain my trap once a month..but now there a ver slow leak in the release valve so the water just drips out with the leak..

oh yea, how bout pressure switch? if i run a 110/140 switch, u think the bags will run more smooth?

I would run the switch suggested for the compressor. Inflate/Deflate time is going to depend on line diameter, amongst other variables. If your compressor can do 200psi, I would get a 165/200 switch.

according to my air installer, he doesnt believe in water traps. hes making me a setup thats wired to a switch under the dash that (somehow) purges all the water out of the system. will post pics and possibly vid of it in action lol. only if its worth posting tho.:shrug:

i think its something like what the original poster was talking about running a line out the drain valve, but i think he means a slow constant drip when theres water in the tank. idk?

I'm actually not running any water traps. As you know there are release valves or whatever you call it at the bottom of my tanks. So I just open them up every 2wks or so, but I do want to add some later. I did find a place that got some nice ones, inexpensive too!
