19x11 -27

The car is a GS400. I've been searching around club lexus and here trying to find an answer to how far I can pull my fenders. According to the offset calculator to run 19x11 -27 O-Disk in the rear my rear fenders would need to be pulled 3.2 inches. However that doesn't account for clearance gained for camber when lowered on air.

The car is being repainted so if (when) paint cracks from the fender it's a non-issue. I have already shaved the fenders for my existing wheels. 3.2 inches doesn't seem like THAT much of a pull. I can run 3" wide fiberglass fender flares if I HAVE to, but I prefer pulled fenders.

Can anyone green light this for me before I order these wheels?

I don't know if it's possible to pull the fenders that much without body work. If you add camber, 1* of camber is about 5mm of clearance so you would need to add 5* for an inch. That's a lot if you're trying to clear 3.2 inches.

Damn that is sick. If you're willing to do body work, I think it is definitely possible.

Ya man i'll bodywork all day, I just finished my trunk and hood. This is minnesota, we don't have shops here, we have beer friends and garages =) Doing the body work isn't an issues, I just normally don't really like fender flares that LOOK like fender flares you know what I mean?

With that negative of an offset and flared fenders will I even need to do anything else to add camber?

wow. if you pull this off, it would look sick. im in the works of running 18*10-26 et for my es300, but im going with the 'broken axle' look. get the wheels, and make em fit.

GS fenders are real thick. That much of a pull is not possible. Your going to have to cut up the fenders and add metal to them and weld it together to make it work. You can also add fiberglass flares. Camber alone wont do it because the side of the bumper is still in the same location and will rub against your tires like crazy.

I hope u get drunk enough to do it. Good luck

Shim the rear? I don't think you can....You gotta get some custom LCA's to add more camber, or deal with what you have, and add metal to the fenders and widen them like crazy.

I don't think you'll be able to pull the existing sheet metal 3.2"

You can gain a ton of that with camber though.

Caoboy - I don't know the GS suspension, but won't LCAs tip the bottom of the wheel out, instead of tipping the top in?

I'm a big fan of the broken axle look. As my buddy who has been helping me with the body work put it "we can't be satisfied till you are lifting tread blocks."

For the LCA's, should I do this then:

http://www.spohn.net/shop/Custom-Parts-Services/Custom-Built-Control-Arms-Panhard-Bars-and-Torque-Arms/

They have a TIG welded "bullet proof" upgrade which is probably more then a good idea when talking about crazy camber and what not. I have NO idea what specs to order so if anyone can point me in the right direction I will reward your eye balls sometime this spring :-p

yeah partly true, but it will change the geometry of the shock body and angle of the knuckles too. but for the most part, you can just say that it will mainly pull the bottom of the wheel outwards.

go for it then. not many on the boards are doing it, but also, yours will probably look especially nice if you have a lot of rim, which 11" widths is going to do perfect.

sorry, im no help with the control arms, i dont know enough about your suspension to help you out though.

That's where the camber bolt is, though our rear suspension setup sucks balls when it comes to adjustability, and for some reason, NO ONE makes any adjustable arms for it, upper or lower.

Either way, custom control arms would be needed to get crazy camber.

Other way would be to achieve desired camber, lower the car to ride height, or park height, and fab up the fenders how you want it, and you are good. I think that's how most of these guys do it, rather than make new arms which would probably cost more in the long run.

A member, ShaneC was doing something about making new arms to adjust for more negative camber in the rear...I haven't spoken to him about it in a long while though.

What I want to know is what made you come up with that exact offset? Is there a set of used wheels on the market with those or are you looking to get the max dish on a certain new wheel?

(Trying to secretly figure out which wheel your going with =))

I cant wait to see this done as well as what Charley has planned for his ES300

i am no expert but i know companies like Nagisa Auto do a whole range of rose jointed adjustable arms for the rear so im sure you could get some that would allow you to adjust camber, theyre just not cheap.

i cant see the pics of the car you posted but the really wide ones i would assume have cut out their original guards and fibreglassed over and blended & painted it all. otherwise you could cut and splay out the fenders and then glass over them to smooth it and make them wider depending if you only need a smaller amount of flare but more than you can pull out, cause you dont want the flare to be looking too high on the car

Q, the wheels I want 19x11 -27 is the widest and most aggressive they offer it in. (hopefully thats not a dead give away)

The plan for the fenders (at this point) is same as my SEL. A) cut out the fenders B) dump it (air) C) build fenders around the car when its slammed. I would really like to be able to have max camber, if I need 200-400 custom arms to do it then i'm not against that at all. I've wanted this car for 5 years so lets just say i've had alot of time to think about what I want to do to it. If you guys saw where my interior was at you'd understand what level I will go to here to get this car where I want it.

ant_jzs160, do you have a link or price for the adjustable arms?

Thanks for all the help you guys. I promise when this is done it'll put a smile on any VIP lovers face. =)

^ If you could get me some links that would be awesome.

I imagine that at $280 a set for US made custom ones it'll probably be ALOT cheaper then japan. Can anyone here help me with the specs for my order? Lower control arm measurements is definitely not my forte.

yeah, NAMS-nagisa is one of the og suspension companies out there. there stuff is expensive. if i were you, id try to hit up some e-drift stores. if they cant get a hold of them, im sure they can make em. try tougefactory.com, enjuku, Autofashion, etc etc. i know AF has custom made suspension parts before. try universal air, they can probably also make custom control arms as well, youd probably just have to give them specs or send something in.

also try splparts.com. talk to kuah, they make in house suspension arms for nissans, they could probably make em for toyota.

yeah, i see that, but the looks of it, they specially target the domestic crowds. and theyd probably be uneducated with import designs. thats just me. i really am unsure myself. but again, a rod is a rod, and as long as the joints and welds are good, then it;d be fine. ask them, maybe even send them one of your lcas or whatever you need modified and im sure they can do it.

Green Grundel - i couldnt get on the home comp last night but just did a quick search and Ikeya Formula are the other ones that do them and theyre cheaper than nagisa auto.

okay their site is in english so it is pretty easy to navigate..and their arms are pretty much the same looking as all the others that do them also.

http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/en/index.html

^ Go to that link, then Product Information tab on the left, then 3rd option down Foot Works, then scroll down to the bottom where the parts are by car tye and click on Toyota Aristo JZS161.

In there are al the parts with pretty easy to understand names and prices in Yen. If you click them it gives you a good sized picture.

back at ya.

Looks like i'm finally getting somewhere with this.

So the new question is.... if I go with the Nagisa Auto Rear Lower Arm's will I be able to adjust them without taking the suspension out? Are the Nagisa Auto Rear Lower Arm's the right part for this job? Thanks for your help guys.
