Yoshis Egg Ver.2 phase 2 complete!!!
Yoshi's project egg has come a long way!
Ver.1 of his egg project had to be scrapped due to Engine failure. He had to make a though decision on either to put a new eng in Ver 1 or to just find a new egg. Weighing the cost Yoshi decided to put Ver 1 to rest and it would be cheaper to just find a new egg. It set Yoshi back a few steps but he kept the faith of building an Egg in Hawaii.
He found another solid platform to start all over again. wasnt the color he wanted but its prob the only deep violet effect Previa in Hawaii. I myself never ran across anouther previa of this color.
Even though his project Ver2 is far from finished. yoshi needed help and i offered to help him as much as i could to get his air installed. I was lucky enough to be the choosen one to put together Phase 2 of the egg! Everyone knows me for building Award winning Scions in Hawaii. But i'm moving away from just Scions and going back to my roots in building cars and in building just about anything.
It was a long 2 weeks of custom fabricating and installing and uninstalling making sure it was done right! Nothing was just bolt up. but I did make it so the rears do all bolt up for easy servicing!
The Install went well just that the Easy Street Digital Controller thats still giving me problems after hours of playing with it. My final conclsuion on it "note this is my opinion on this controler" Mybe yoshi might think differant when i show him how it works. Nice high tech device easy to hook up.IF the wires for the valves wasnt miss labled. but semi works.. unless i did something wrong.. I did what easy street told me.. Remove all air mufflers on the EXH.. and throttle valves be removed but yoshis system dosnt have throttle valves. than made sure system was full with air before tunning it. It went though the tune cycle but by the time it got to the rear bags the system was low on air. The auto ride hight works but not smoothly.. it goes up in short brust not smoothly.. The LCD read out sometimes goes funky. Dont know if easy street can swap the LCD controler out maybe this is a defective part? But if anyone has this controler please your input is greatly appricated.
Phase 2 consisted of an air install as many of you were following his update topic of the build.
The phase2 consist of
Universal Air Suspension kit.
480 Viair Compressor
4 gal tank
1/2 valves
1/4 in DOT lines and DOT compression type fitting
Silk Road Coilovers with UAS bags
Easy street Digital Controler
Custom made install.
Re trimmed Fender Flares.
Fender Flares Color Matched
And a full buffing of the paint.
Just wanted to thank Yoshi for giving me the chance to work on his egg and be part of his project and to let me do what I love doing!
Fine Wine Takes Time!!
Enjoy the pics!

I've been following the build and am very impressed with the final outcome. Another inspiration for us previa owners. Now it's time for the aero kit.

The Egg is beyond any of my wildest expectations! eight08customs really went above and beyond what I requested of him. He decided to "Color match" the Overfenders as well as Buff the whole ride for me himself. We never discussed any of that......if doing all the Custom Work on the Air Sus, Trimming the Fender/Overfenders, "Making" my Oil Pan Gaurd "Fit", Spending many Hours trying to get the Easy Street Digital Controller to work wasn't enough to ask of him. I am truely just at a lost for words. I can't stop looking at the photos.
I also got to give it up to everyone for helping me get my Egg to her current state........you all know who you are.......if it were not for all of your help.......she would still be the "Barney mobile" ugly and stock. Wish I could of shown Dave my Egg.......I know he would of loved my exhaust......never told anyone but that exhaust was done in his honor. Wanted to run "Dual" like his GS.......but I be too broke. LOL R.I.P.......check in on us from time to time aight? Miss you man.
I can't wait to see my baby in person. I am sure that the photos just don't do her justice. Don't know if I can sleep tonight. LOL
Thank you for all the compliments!

UberE500,
Naw she won't be seeing any shows.....even after she gets complete Aero, body/paint, and other future plans. I am all about doing stuff like "Toys for Tots", "Back to School Drive", "Hawaii Food Bank", any stuff which benefits a good cause or to support the VIP Styling here in the 808. This project was "all about me"........not to be judged. I don't need a trophy to tell me that my Egg looks good. It is how I always wanted it to look and hearing compliments from those who share the same love for the Vip Styling is more than enough for me.
Good things really do come to those who wait.......and to those who have great friends. Met a lot of great people through my build. This Egg is "hats off" to all of you. I think I am able to appreciate this more because of all the "bumps" along the way. Scary thing is there is so much more I want to do............but we will see "when" or "if" it is going to happen. Took me over 5 years to even get to this point......or some where around that number. "Senior Moments". Just glad I have a vehicle where I will be able to load up the "Odyssey 4-wheel Scooter".

^^^^^will let you know if I hear anything. Not sure it "Toys for Tots" is happening this year.....but every year it seems to get smaller and smaller....if the cops would give "immunity" and not give any tickets more would come out. I miss the good ol' days when they closed off the streets and gave us a Police Escort. Now a days it is "enter at you own risk". Sad because the real losers are the kids. But then again you can't hate on the Cops just because they doing their job either. Either way....it is a "lose, lose".
Shawn,
Your Egg is way ahead of mine. It got air, complete aero, Front/Tail Conversion, some interior work, etc. My Egg would of never been through the different stages and kept me "motivated" if it were not for your "parts". In fact because of you I got "Overfenders" and were able to make my wheels "fit", also the Wiper Mod was via you, Depo Red/Clear Tails, TEIN Super Wagon Coil-Overs (no longer on the Egg). Thanks a lot man! Looking forward in seeing you Egg come together.......it is going to look sick......it already does.

Yeah my Egg is currently at SERVCO.........I was losing pressure in my Brakes......so the Master Cylnder is being replaced. Hope that is the only culprit. This was already the plan before getting the Air Sus completed. My other Master Tech Neal K. is working on her and he is familiar with air. Thank you for your concern though.
I also have plans to take her to Progressive Auto Sounds to have them take care of some items for me as well.
As for my wheels.....nah I am going to be keeping them for a long time. In fact I would like to eventually fix all the imperfections and make the wheels all cherry. Tell him to pick up the crazy offset Rapiers in the For Sale Sections.
http://www.vipstylecars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12581 Wish I had the monies and capabilities of running those offsets. What kind of ride does your friend have?
Also loving the way that you ride is coming together.......is she HIN bound?

It is my understanding that when rolling any ride with Air Sus when putting her on a Lift of even Jacking her up you need to release the air in the bags.......to prevent premature ejac......bag failure. So "if and when" your Egg goes into servicing the techs need to know to release the air in the bags. Atleast that is my understanding.

Oh, because of the rolling stock pulling down on the inflated bags?
I hope the shop takes note of whatever procedure they need to follow to not damage this van, but I really dig it!
That purple is a really good colour imo, and I've never seen another Previa that colour either

The more that I look at my Exhaust I wish that I would of held out putting it on until after I completed an Aero Kit. Right now it just looks out of place (especially from the side). I don't regret getting the exhaust.......just should of held out and waited. But then again if I was waiting for the kit I may never be able to put the exhaust on there. LOL

These are indeed "amber" painted clear corners. I purchased these from Yahoo Auctions Japan a while back. The amber was not shot very clean and even. But for the time being it does the job for me.

Thanks for the compliment......thinking about taking off the Exhaust for now. I am sure if I had a aero kit she would "flow" so much better. But being that I don't see that happening in the any near future so I may replace it with something a little more "subtle" for the time being. Lately been turning the heads of a lot of Popos in the Waikiki area and would like to "lessen" the attention from them.
Any updates on the repairs for your wagon? Nailed a couple of mean pot holes which I didn't see because they were filled with water....from all the recent rain. My wheels have a couple new "custom" design work done to them. LOL "Non-Bent" wheels and Hawaii roads.......there is no such thing! LOL Doesn't help that I tend to ride at a PSI level where my wheels take the brunt of all the pot holes and the ride is pretty stiff. But hey atleast my ride height looks good. LOL Never understood why people would scrape when they had the option of not damaging their stuff..........now look at me.........just got to shake my head. LOL

^^^^^^That is exactly why I started my Egg project.....not too many people doing up Eggs. Ver 1.0 began over 5 years ago and "stalled", never made much progress only to have her blown her head gasket. Ver 2.0 came about quite quickly (compared to ver 1.0) with the help of many friends and supporting Wife (she don't know too much but I plan to keep it that way) she has reached her current status. It will probally take another 5 years to get a kit. LOL I hope not but there is not rush. There is already a sweet Egg here in Hawaii with an Origin kit rolling around.
Glad that my project is motivating you. Little words of advice would be to take your time and do (what ever project) right the first time. It will save you a lot of money and heart ache in the long run. Take the opportunity to meet a lot of people and inquire of their expert advice and experience. They will really help your project take form and shape. I know that has been the case with my build, if it were not for the many people who offered their services and expert advice my Egg would still be the rotten, purple and stock.
Good luck!

It was built using the UAS Parts but there was a lot of Fabrication, Welding, upgrading parts to make her work properly. I would call it the Eight08customs System......props once again to the Master Installer/Fabricator.
The only gripe I got about the system is the Easy Street Digital Controller........that is not Eight08customs fault.......the unit is defective. I am probally going to have to install normal "switches"....so much for going Digital.

Shawn,
Sorry and Thank You at the same time. Without the Overfenders, Extended Sliding Door Hinge, Oil Pan Guard, etc. all from you, my Egg would of never got the chance to run my wheels. Too bad those CF Over Fenders on Yahoo Auctions Japan fell through. Then we both would of been rockin Over Fenders.
If you look at my post right above yours I was talking about being bummed with the Easy Street Digital Controller...........well I should of "knocked on wood" because the Unit has experienced catastrophic (sp) failure. My Egg is now down and Eight08Customs is having to "re-do" my set up due to defective product.

They did actually respond to my e-mail. Please reffer to the "Wheels and Suspension" section. Hopefully this will have a happy ending. Refund would be nice. Simplicity is definately the way to go when it comes to Air Sus..........all I have is regrets. I guess you live and you learn.........and hope that others can "learn" from my experience.

if i were you id look into dakota digital. ive had no problems with the system and good customer service. i wanted to trade faceplates and colors of my controller. they swapped my chrome with the blue for brushed with the green. i got tired of the fingerprints on the chrome. for no charge i just had to pay shipping there and back.

Fresh,
Personally I just want to get away from any form of Digital Controller. I should of listened to my installer and kept it simple. But I am glad to hear that your Dakota Digital is not giving you any problems. Who knows, spending the extra couple hundred dollars to get the Dakota Digital Controller and I might of been a happy camper......I guess I will never know.

Going switch box is going to cost me an arm and a leg. 4 Senders, Dakota Digital Gauge, 200 PSI Pressure switch = More than 4 Bills. Got to thank Mikey LikeNoOtherLLC for ordering the parts for me and eight08customs for "donating" a switchbox and doing all the "install/repair" to my Egg.

Shawn,
Nothing new to share........only new modds would have to be fender and wheel damage from driving low. LOL I decided to do my own version of "dent doctors" with my Club. But then I had to do something because the Fender caved in and it was so bad that I was rubbing even when I was at 80 PSI (normally run 58-60 PSI). But still haven't learned my lesson and tend to run more in the range of 50 PSI fronts and 30 PSI rears......and when I am stuck in traffic I drop it another 10 PSI on both front and rear. Technically I could run at 0 PSI but it would have to be completely smooth and level.
The funny thing about it all is I always thought that I would always air up once I got air but I find myself "just going for it" at times. Totally different from what I thought air would do to me. LOL I enjoy the sound of rubbing.......eventually it will go away. LOL

As for the Bolts, I am awaiting arrival.

That kit is on eBay right now.. is poly.. and like only 699.00..... apparently, this kit was produced in the US for a Japanese company.... They are supposed to be based out of Cali... If I could ever get a copy of mine made, which I'm not.. I would try through them so I could have it in poly...

Here's a T-Selection kit on Upgarage that doesn't need any door cap modification:

nice find!!!!! yoshi its calling you!!!
Here's a rough estimate of how much it would cost: (Using the charges I paid for my JP kit)
T-Selection body kit (19,999 yen) 230.00
Bank Fee - Japan 7.00
Commission 50.00
Domestic Shipping - Japan 175.00
Packing/Label/Handling 50.00
International Shipping- Ocean 400.00
Transaction Fee 55.00
TOTAL 967.00
The only thing I'm not sure of is how much is shipping from California to Hawaii, or maybe an importer can ship it directly to you.

That T-Selection is looking mightly delicious, if I were to even think about doing it I would definately need to find an importer who will ship direct from Japan to Hawaii. I once brought a part over and the shipping costs killed me because I paid for shipping from Japan to Cali and Cali to Hawaii. Pretty messed up considering Hawaii is just "kind of" in between Cali and Hawaii.
That is a great find though........no door cap moddification, fogs, and the kit looks like it is in decent condition.

Let me know if you needed any help with shipping. we ship from Japan to HI all the time !! The only thing about it is you have to clear the shipment yourself and we can do it both ocean and air.
And we also offer up-garage and yahoo japan service.

With the Holiday Season coming up I am going to be needing my funds for the Mrs. and Daughter. My "needs" are going to have to wait. Besides I got some other things that I need to get taken care of on my Egg before I drop for the Aero.
jdmpalace, thanks for the offer when I am able to pick me up an Aero from Japan I will hit you up.

Shawn,
No worries if I do sell the Overfenders you will have first dibs. Really on the fence as I cut up the fenders pretty good. If I take off the Overfenders it is going to looked jacked up.
I am entertaining parting out or as a whole. Ideally local would be great to save on shipping costs but if peps are willing to pay for the shipping I am maybe game.

New buyer came by last night to pick her up. I watched until she was out of site. Mixed feelings but I know that she went to a good home. I am looking forward in seeing updates to her by the new owner.
Mahalo once again to those who helped me with this build.

The guy who picked her up has one of Mikey's old eggs (welded slidding door one). He is thinking of pick up a kit and body paint. He also mentioned that he has the JDM headlights and tails. Not sure if he is going to pit it on this egg though. I told him to keep me updated on her.
Let me hit you up some I can come bye some time

Got a call from the new owner last week to tell me that the purple people eater was involved in an accident........not sure how extensive the damage to her is. From what he shared another vehicle ran into her and there was damage to the front end. He mentioned that he is possibly thinking of picking up a different ride so I am under the impression that she is beyond repair.
