Junction Produce Scaras and Center Cap Bolts

~Have you guys lost any yet?
~How do you keep them on?
~Where can I get replacements?

I bought my OZ Scaras from a friend of mine a few months ago. When I got them they had about 3 bolts missing on the center cap. I know that the bolt that secures the cap in place is located right underneath the JP logo on the center cap. Since Ive had the wheels Ive lost 3 more out on the road. Im about read to put some epoxy in the thread so dont lose another one.

I have some Scaras but not the OZ set. I haven't lost any bolts. Can you post a pic of what your talking about? My center cap secures by two bolts and not the center cap as you stated. Are they regular allen key bolts or a torx looking bolt?

I'll try and get some pics up as soon as I can. But I guess the OZ Scaras are secured but 1 bolt.

Here are a few pictures of the cap on one of the wheels. Cell phone pics.

In this picture you can see how only 1 long bolt secures the cap.

Forum image
Just one bolt. I guess the non OZ set secures the cap with two bolts.

Can you spot the missing Torx bolt in this pic? My other caps look like this also. They either have 1 or 2 missing on each cap.

Ive PMed a couple Junction Produce dealers here on VSC to see if I they can get ahold of these but no response yet.

That is strange. I don't know how it would fall off. My Scaras are secured with two bolts. Are they 20's?

maybe it's a knock off and tried to save money by using only 1 bolt to secure it.

If those aren't the 20's then those are 1st gen Scaras. I've seen older sets of Scaras that say OZ on the lip.

I've seen the OZ center on the JP site and it only shows 1 bolt but it was a dual PCD unlike yours. Also, I don't think you'll find the bolt at a hardware store. Atleat ones that match my Scara Japan centers. I've searched for them b4.

really? our hardware store caries everything. dont go to home depot, go to a different one like ACE. here we have HANKS and just show it to a guy and he'll measure it out pitch and everything and find it for you. the people are more knowledgable there. i did that and the guy showed me like 25 different ones. i could even use torx just like the surrounding screws but then id have a hard time locating the 2 that actually hold the cap on.

Yeah you are right. These OZ Scaras were made back in 2003 so I wouldn't doubt it. As for the torx bolts, these are very unique so it is just about impossible to find them at any hardware store. The key just to remove these Torx bolts alone has to be purchased from OZ in Italy for the hefty price of $80. I really love these wheels that's why I ended up picking them up as is. I will be getting them refinished sometime in the near future. You can kind of see some of the clear finish fading a bit. But these are my dream wheels and I love them.

Yeah, I don't know where the ACE, Tru Value, Builders Emporium or the little hardware stores around here are. All I see are Lowes and Home Depot. I've been to other bolt stores though. Well, let me search the web for locations.

I have the 781 but the head is a little too big so you need to grind it down. I guess you can either buy the 781-S or get one of the cone seat ones. Keeps your caps from getting jacked and more protection for the wheels in addition to my 2 sets of locks. Paranoid... I has it. Forum image

hey ben, did you get them to fit. After you grind them down don't you think the edges may rust? That's what I've been thinking that's why I haven't picked up a set yet.

Not too worried about that.. I would probably just get the 781-s, but I got the 781 for so cheap I could just throw them out if they rust.

The Gorilla bolts would really stand out since they are so different. I would rather get the original JP torx bolts even if they cost a lot.

That's a grip. What a rip for a little bolt. I'd reather buy the center cap locking bolts from Gorilla that Ben posted earlier.

Does that torx replace the hex bolt that holds down the center cap or just the dummy bolt on the centers?
