sick rims, idk how that gold will look with ur gold paint personally. id rock those on a cadillac tri pearl white car(forgot what its called i had the paint on my eldorado), whatever it is thatd be fire!  gl gettin those things to fit, too bad those y33 fender flares arent for sale anymore.

I agree with Jay. The wheels look sexy in gold but I don't think they will look good on that color car.
 
The fronts will be harder to fit then the rears but its not impossible. Good luck

if you execute this well i predict my favorite y33.

I agree with both of you.. the color was not something I was looking at when I was picking this up... After fitting the wheels I am pretty set on this color:

about the only thing you could have said to make me more into it after the initial pics was "cadillac diamond pearl".

what's the e.t.a. on this project or is there one?

waitin for my tires to show up... just got the car 2 nights ago... figuring out how to get a ton of camber in the front and rear... and considering using my JIC FLT-A2's from my S13 on it.

eta= well, hopefully quick enough.  Ive got some work to do on it, and im pretty busy, so it might take me a couple minutes

im also thinking about a kit before I paint it.. :-D

cool... so many projects never see completion while others seem to get done overnight. this one can't come soon enough imo, and i'm not a huge y33 fan so that's sayin a bit.

with the pearl it might be a good idea to kit it before paint.

you thinking straight camber/pull or some kind of flares/widebody?

lots of pull... maybe radius.. not sure yet.

sounds good... i personally would love to see a sensible amount of camber with fender work.

This will look good if done right!

And you can never go wrong w/ Mode Parfume and Aimgain

Keep in mind the wheels are 18's.  Most body kits out there are lower then the stock bumpers.  You dont want to slam the car on the kit and still have 1-2" fender gap :shrug:

good point. stock body laid out may be the way to go.

use S13 fornts for more camber as well.

Oh I still plan on an LS.. but the price I got this car for I couldn't complain.. that and Ive always had a thing for y33's

They are tiny.. 18X11 -17 and 18X13 -7

kinda off topic,but the site you got those rims from,are they still in business?my friend wants to order from them but is unsure.

i was talking about width they are pretty wide for 18's nice wheels can't wai to see how they come out.

I like the rims... shit.. sell them to me then I can change the chrome off my car to gold... lol.. nah but do love the rims, but not too much with the car color

oh man guess i called it with the cadillac white diamond tripearl. <--remembered what its called!!  hehe ya but anyway that would be pretty sweet.always a fan of gold trim n rims but its so hard to make it match.

fyi if you do paint it that, garage it only! sun really damages the pearl. 
dont mind the chrome dubs. this was years ago :smiley-rofl:  lol i almost put gold rims on my gold 300m, but only cause it was a good price. that older 300 can still fit 24's!

dunno if u can tell but the upper portions of my car that get sun beat are less pearly, but my bumpers etc were still nice. car was only less than 5 years old at the time. haha not like people keep modded cars that long anymore anyway. just thought id mention. 


ohh n u should look into trading someone with a y33 with a gold package for their accessories. like the emblems and the antenna base. thatd be fly.

damn man, everyone is stepping up their game. These wheels are going to look so bad ass on this car if you pull it off right. Be sure to take lots of progress pics.:dance: Gold and White is going to look great.

mad props as this is similar to the direction I am headed with my wheel color and set up...I am looking to mix a taste of the lowrider cali style with my build...once again looks sick so far cant wait to see it finished.....


Also what finish are the wheels? (anodized,dipped, painted?)

anyone have any ideas for some goldish/chromeish window tint? I cannot seem to find anything that would look nice for VIP..  Black is out of the question.

they make a bronze color it might be what your looking for

Do a search for DaygoVIP he did the gold metalic on his brown Y33 (I'm too Lazy to search)
IMO if you do that color, don't go metallic....

I am imagining a satin bronze y33 with these wheels... And the boxers are no longer feeling like boxers....

If so hit me up, I am selling the Cusco S14 rear camber plates needed to make the S13 coils work on our cars.

just have all your chrome "gold plated".  google "24k gold auto trim" for 1,000,000 results.

Bronze would look best i wouldn't do goldish tint.:pat:
