Staggered wheels on FY33?

So, I was talking to a wheel rep (not on this site) about some 19s for my car, and they told me that the manufacture said staggered wheels wouldn't work on my car.  They said  that I shouldn't run 19x8 front and 19x9.5 rear, I should just run 19x8 all the way around.  What's up?  They only list lip size, not actual offsets, so that makes it a little more different.  They say the 19x8 has a 1" lip and the 19x9.5 has a 2.75" lip.  Help please!

Wow who did you talk to?!?! I have 19x9.5 +10 on the fronts and 19x10.5 +10 rears and have yet to have an issue.  I think every member on here who has a y33 runs staggered set ups.

See, that's what I thought!  Stupid online wheel shops.  They have the best prices, but the dumbest people.  It's like shopping at AutoZone compared to the dealer.  I still think I'm gonna get my setup from there, just because of price.  Plus they do free shipping, and free mounting and balancing.

I got my wheels through an online shop and they said the same thing but I just said my car was modified to accept that fitment and it shut them right up.

i run that 8.5 front and 9.5 back its actually better cause now that my Q is lowered and that extra inch saves helps my turn ratio cause if i put 9.5's in the front i probably would have had to roll my fenders

or not i've seen bigger that mine

Standard wheel shops just don't know.

Also, 2.75" of lip is unacceptable for a 9.5" wheel that'll go on a RWD car. :)

SOrry fam, but if your having this problem, than your ordering the wrong type of wheel!
The cheap brands don't go by offsets and what not. IMO I would stack my chips and hop on one of the great deals in our forsale threads! They got a way better chocie and more VIPstyle rims....alot at a stealer price! I/E any of them fablous wheels and any of widebody's if your feeling like a challenge (not really though, cause it don't take much for a Q45)....

its not that they are talkin out there ass. its just they are telling you safe *ugly* conservative setup.


a lot of places will tell you spacers are bad, lower offsets, and other stuff too.


but they dont know about our stylin so dont blame them. but yea listen to what the guys on here say.

VIPSTYLE isn't safe and I have many pics/stories to prove it as I'm sure the rest of us do. SO yea, safety reason are good reaason for them to tell you these things, but you'll get your best answers here. Ask here first! We been through it all!

lol on my civic i was running 7.5/8.5 setup... and thats pretty wide on a civic. so yeah!! bullcrap...

Well, the whole setup is $1800 to my door mounted and balanced with new Falken tires.  I can't really find anything else that I like at that price right now.  Plus, like I said in another thread, is these will be decent daily driver/wife wheels.  I can roll the more aggressive setup for shows and meets.  High Desert roads suck (I know tht's not an excuse) and I'd rather mess up a cheap wheel and be able to replace it than a nice wheel and have to spend just as much just "repairing it".  Maybe I'm just not VIP enough yet. =)

Since you guys are so adamant against cheap wheels. =)  I think I'm starting to get it, but your responses to these wheels will either affirm or deny that claim.  How would the fit be on my Q?

hmmmm eimitz on a y33?:ughdown: i like the wheel, decent offsets also,  they are kinda small and just not the right style for that car

Those emitz were lookin so tempting, but they are beat to shit! and it's gonna cost another 500-1K to get them fixed! (Not a good buy for that price and condition! but I do want to see how they'd look on my car! =))
 
ALso you would need a pretty big spacer for those! :sad:
Try lookin for sumthin in the single digit offsets!

18's are a tad too small for your ride. especially when you park next to pancakes and he's running 20's!:slap:

if you go there in person and pay cash they will take off anywhere from $300-$500 off the listed price!

Those are nice.

 Emitz on a Y33 would be hot but that particular set was kind of weak sized from what I understand.

emitz are nice for a g50...but you would definitely want more lip....and yeah those are beat to hell

My advice right now is don't rush into anything.  Times are rough and people are letting their wheels go for dirt cheap.  Just be patient

Do it right the first time and SAVE!!!!!

i don't think those are beat to shit.  it looks like they have saran wrap or some kind of plastic around the lips for some reason (protect from damage during shipping?).

I am running a 19x10  et6 and a 19x11   et14 with no problems

What everyone else said. Waiting will give you more options to pick from, exactly what you want and, be happy with your choice for a longer time. Better then just getting something to catch up with others.

ill send some, right now im running -6??? in the rear... the camber kit is maxed out, can't go anymore. the front probably like a -3? im on +20's right now. i only got one picture of my car ill send it over...


 save up and get better wheels!!! dont go with the cheap stuff, resell value probably sucks.... at least with some vipstyle wheels... you'll either make some or lose a lil but most of the time you'll break even....

they put the wrap on there so it doesnt scratch the rim when mounting the tires, just like new rims when they have that blue wrap on it....

yeah, that's what i figured.  they looked beat to hell to me at first and then i just looked a little closer.  nice wheels though...i'd snatch them up if i had another car to put them on.

^^ yeah, when i go there to check out rims, all of them are like that... and im like wtfork?? but the guy told me that its for mounting tires... so it doesnt mess up the lip..... not a bad price for 19x10-6 19x12+6 4/5 x 114.3. i dont think anyone can run my wheels..... 18x11jj -10 18x12jj -10 LOL
