A32

This isn't so much of a build log, as it is to show some of the possibilities. Even for those that do not drive a traditional VIP platform.

I don't claim the A32 as a VIP car, but I did take some styling cues from the scene. I don't think I will ever own a 'true' VIP platform car, as I tend to enjoy the euro styling just slightly more.

I can, however, respect the amount of work that goes into a nice build, regardless of platform or desire.

The goal of this build was to build something that drew a lot of attention, but in an understated way.

I rode around on factory suspension and blingin' 20s for a few months just because I had them left over from selling the previous build. I eventually opened up the headlights and painted the insides black, but that was a short term thing, as well...

This lasted until I got a pretty solid tax return. I started asking questions and doing some measuring, nothing too crazy...

Next up came the MRR HR3's. I had always admired them on some of the higher end euros.

Also, at this point someone had busted a tail light, so I replaced them and the headlights as well to update the look to something cleaner.

Took advantage of a deal on some KSport coilovers. Not the best quality, but for a DD, it did the job. Would I go with them again? No.

Installed them and set front camber accordingly. At this point, I also switched out the tires for 245/35s on the 9.5's in the back, and 225/35s on the 8.5's up front. It gave me slightly more play room up front. I even managed to get the alignment back in factory specs, so Tire Kingdom saw a LOT of me (about monthly... haha) I was determined to get my moneys worth out of their unlimited alignment plans.

After dialing them in...

At this point, I was pretty much done with it. I added a stereo, and some odds and ends under the hood, but nothing major.

Now, in no way would I classify this as 'VIP', but I thought it would be refreshing to see someone clean up a bucket and keep it G.

Also, I had a good laugh at people who would tell me I had 'VIP wheels!' or a 'VIP Maxima,' Black on Black can verify some good times being had by all (those that had a clue... haha) on some other forums.

You don't like KSports dude? I loved them! They have all the features you need in a good damper and they go sooper low. I also love how you can buy parts for them in case you lose or damage something.
Nice clean car btw, the wheels and stance are a huge improvement over the big chrome joints at stock ride height.

How long have you had your KSports?

My biggest issue was decay in quality over time. They just didn't hold up well.

Also, a quick google search of complaints from KSport led me to a forum of Auto-X'ers that actually had a guy that did an independent test on all four of his KSports and found different spring rates and different rebound rates (while he ordered the same...), on all four corners.

That's like riding on four different brands of coilovers.

They did the job though, and for a DD drop without major driving necessities, I'm sure they're a decent option.

I just wouldn't go back, given the choice.

i have k sports on my 147, i wouldn't go with them again. i've had mine for about a month and they are starting to get rough and clunk. i have a feeling i'll be taking advantage of my 1 year warranty.
