Could I get approved????

Hey I'm a noob to the site, but been lovin the VIP scene for years, and been reading the forums for months. I've owned a couple 240's, a hatch and Vert, both of which i've gotten compliments where ever i'd go. Even my vert got compliments of it having "VIP Style". But Now i just picked up a 98 Q, for a killer deal, and wanna do i legit VIP. I wanted to post in other sections of the forum, but couldn't till i got the approval from a mod, so can I? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :boweek5:

VIP101 is the actual starting place for people who haven't been around long enough to be able to contribute to the community. It doesn't mean you aren't worthy, it just means you are new and have a lot to learn.

Thanks for the tips guys, but how am i supposed to demonstrate knowledge of VIP. I'm not going to claim I know a grip, but at the same time, i know i for sure ain't a noob of it either.

I don't think you ever stop learning, doesn't matter how much education you get, or how old you get, there's always stuff out there to learn

Its not that you have to show that you know a "grip" of the VIP style culture, having the VIP101 section helps educate noobs to this style of car modding, and your right you may not be a noob when it comes to the car modding scene, but it is always nice to learn about the culture and how it came about. Everyone went through the approval process so just be patient, learn the culture and contribute to the VIP101 subforum sections. :biggthumpup:

Your right about that, there is no limitation to how much a person can learn, like i said thats what VIP101 section is for to educate and help you understand the culture

you may not need to learn anything. i'm sure not everyone who is into the style is on forums. what you [I]do[/I] need to do is:

1) [I]prove [/I]you know wtf you are talking about. nothing does this quicker than a build/pics thread, which shouldn't be a problem if you've done what you say you've done.

2) [I]demonstrate[/I] that you will be a [I]contributing[/I] member. answer some questions, help a noob out, do a write up on something unique you bring to the forum (lord knows we need more worthwhile content these days), etc.

personally, i don't like 101 but i understand it's purpose. some of us don't mind noobishness non-sense because it's entertaining, however the powers that be prefer a civilized forum. i have a feeling if they had 101 when i joined i'd be in here to this very day. they might have even made me a nooberator by now.

Brokey just be patient bro..in due time everyone can earn their "wings" if they desire to learn and grow in knowledge and skills.  Understanding the culture and the real way things are done is VERY important.  We don't want too much to get lost in translation...but we HATE for people to just ignore it all together.  I think you feel me here...

Well the LS has an Auto Couture kit ([URL]http://www.auto-couture.com/lexus/usf40_pg/index.html[/URL]), spoiler was even molded
Asanti 22" wheels, not my flavor either, thats more like a DUB style
Brembo F/R Calipers and Rotors
I think with a drop and nicer wheels it'd look better. But stock, it's already rockin bags and for quality time in the back seat, Power Curatins. But none the less, the guys got balls, or some deep pockets for doing this to the current model LS USF40

haha well I didn't say they were show cars, but people gave me props on em. They're good for what they were, even picked up the vert for $500, so it came a ways up

And yes, that is a DUB build...not vip.  BTW, molding a spoiler hasn't been a big deal for years if you keep up with current trends in Japan..making your car your own is (if you can piece together what I mean).

That's a joke, in case you miss it.

The fastest way to get out of 101:

1.  Read up a lot, and don't ask questions that were previously answered.  Do a search, chances are your questions have been tackled before.

2.  Make a real effort to understand VIP and its history.  Just because you own 2 drift cars don't mean you know anything about VIP.  In fact, if anything, it shows that you've never been in the "real" VIP game before.

3.  Own a real VIP platform, which you already do.  Then post your future build and do a step-by-step update.  We are here to help and let you know if what you are doing is correct or not.  Of course, you can always choose not to listen to any of us and flick us off, but that won't get you anywhere, but here.  :)

4.  Share, share, share.  There are many things that we don't know that you can probably enlighten us with.  That's some serious brownie points and will get you out of the 101 faster.

5.  Being broke is not an excuse.  You cannot be broke and VIP at the same time.  That's a complete oxymoron to each other.  Save up for some real parts.  I'd rather you drive around stock in a real VIP platform, rather than slap on some replica kit and wheels and cover up the fakeness with a bunch of lights and stickers.  That's NOT VIP.
