Galant or LS400 that is the question.

What up Fam, I have a question to ponder on, The PT is about to be paid off in May and after that I am going to get rid of her. I'm debating on wheather I want to get a 1996-1999 LS400 or a 1999-2003 Galant. I can do the same things to the Galant I want to the LS400 it will just take a little more work (which isn't a problem), Plus I'm looking at the fuel economy and over all expences as I am married and trying to save up for a house. I think I know which one most will go with, but I would still like some opinions on this.

Buying the Lexus will definitely get you more community backing. 

But, being a VIP forum, most people will probably say get the Lexus.....

lexus. and it's not that i'm particularly fond of the pre-mc 20's, the galant just doesn't do anything for me.

it all comes down to what you want though and the fact that you are choosing between a galant and an ls says a lot. seems like you have a hella soft spot for the mitsu, which i can dig.

Get what you want.
But why only those 2 options?
Not much of a fan of anything else?

Do you want apples or oranges? Cus thats what its like comparing the two. Just ask yourself this......Do you want to spend alot on parts or not?? I dunno imo two COMPLETELY diff cars that  you CANT really do the same thing to.
Comes down to which one is really gonna make you happy homey.

I'd go with the Lexus. Based on reviews, it's a far smoother, cushier, luxury car, and if I were looking at that kind of car, that's what I'd be looking for in one.

I don't know anyone who would want a Galant over an LS400.

Dude this shouldnt even be an issue imo...Id keep the PT as a daily since it'll be paid off and pick up the LS this way you can go bananas with the fitment and pull it out after work and on weekends...just a thought

LS400 with a JP premiums widebody kit all day all the way!

as you know since this is a VIP forum, you know what is gonna get picked. its up to you to decide are opinions wont even matter since we're all gonna say LS. its up to you. i think you should just ask your better half, you'll get a better solid answer

Galant?    sounds like some kind of medieval contraption.    Is galant even RWD?   LEXUS LS all the way.

However...if saving for a house I wouldn't buy either and sell the PT if you really don't need an extra car.   Right now seems like its a buyers market and you'll need every penny to get a loan these days.   good luck

No I'm not building a drift car:pat:, I could more than likly use my camaro if I were gonna do that :giggity:  Galant is FW, we never got the AWD over here as far as I know. I could be wrong on that though. 
 
I'm probably going to go with the LS unless I find a better Deal on a Q45, I like the Galant but I really would like to own a VIP platform car to start with a better base. The only thing that worries me witha a Q is the problems that I've heard they have IDK:shrug:
 
I don't want to keep the PT it sucks on gas and is slower than a turtle.

I think they're discontinuing the PT since it just sux...I feel sorry for you to own one of those.

People here I think have converted Galants with a JDM motor and tranny as well as the rear diff and stuff.   Rally Art or something does that crap.   DSM cars are just trash...except the motor.   I've never owned one but friends have made plenty of power and have broke plenty of parts.

I still have a galant, well my Wife has the Galant. 
 
I'm probably going to go the the LS if I can't get one I'll try for the Q45. I talked with one of my local dealers or a salesperson that I know who is going to look for an LS for me.

Go with the LS. It's more reliable, and has a little better value on it.

u got to be joking... on a vip forum.. no doubt .. go lexus... galant is diff platform... could use same concepts but doesn't relay to ppl to be in same class as high end toyotas/lexus etc..   

just saw a 2000 ls400 c 50K miles 1 owner trade in to a dealer (NOT auction)  sell for $13K... can u believe it..

its gonna suck when you sell that PT.  their resale is so low its not even funny.

and definately the ls4 would be a financially wise choice with a piece of mind knowing you probably wont need to fix much on it as oppose to a galant.

get the LS cuz it's reliable, sexy and you can find a lot of parts for it.
