JUST MY LUCK Tire Blowout

Just happened to me right now driving 55 and suddenly the car starts pulling hard to the right pull over to check what happened and saw that my tire was totally flat and that my rim now has a dent on the lip. When I took off the rim i saw that the inner sidewall totally separated and had bubbles all around the tire! Does anyone here know where you can get rims repaired? how much camber are you running and how many miles were the tires driven for? I'm afraid mine might blow soon too

My falkens did the same exact thing. I got like 3 bubbles in the same spot on my back right tire. But the tire still had plenty of air in it, it never went flat.:sad:

rbwheels.com 60-70 dolla repairs. oh yeah Falkens are notorious for sidewall bubbles. got my stocks on my mercedes cuz of two front tires w/ bubbles w/ <10k miles

go to RB, ive seen them fix a mangled wheel pretty well. That should be nothing to them

My falkens did the same thing, they were like brand new lol stupid tires

He is right.  It sucks but you are very lucky
 
On the bright side, you got some pretty good use of those tires.  I had this happen to tires that still had stickers on them

are they blown? they only look bubbled, and if thats the case youre cherry.
goodluck, and dont stretch fk's, so if you need the stretch, get something else.

thanks guys ill check out that repair shop and yeah Charley the tire doesnt hold air anymore looks like it broke the bead.

Based on the fact that the rim is bent I don't think the tire was at fault.

Nevertheless, that tire is done.

I've straightened wheels more bent than that with a few good whacks of a dead-blow hammer.
Not that I would recommend doing that...

On my last set of wheels I sold they seemed fine but the new owner said there were some bumps on it to ?  tire shop told me it was uneven camber wear ... I had to replace two front tires ... its just falkins . i swear ...  
 
I cant see the pics but i understand ... I justy hope only the inne is bent and that shouldnt be too bad at least

THe tire went flat which caused a bend in the rim SoCalSC4 whats funny is that I checked the tires the night before and they were fine I always check them atleast once a week for tire pressure and bubbles on the sidewall and the next day it goes out.

falken's suck ass..

i had posted up on here about them a while back..
i pretty much bought brand new tires and got an alignment
done as well. the tires bubbled all over within the first 4-5 weeks.
i didn't hit any potholes and probably put on 1000 miles max?

i sent these exact pictures to falken and i asked them nicely
to give me a solution.. i did not ask for a warranty or a free set of
tires.. i just wanted to figure out if it was camber? toe? weight load?
tire pressure? stretch? alignment? they told me to raise my car,
fix my camber, get less agressive wheels, and get bigger tires..
BUT they say the tires aren't over loaded.

as u can see in the picture, the tread still has plenty of meat. YES i have
camber/toe wear BUT its not like the tire is BALD and that caused the bubbling.

i was running 235/35 on 19x9.5... and 245/35 on 19x10.5.

i've tried nitto 555, toyo t1r,  kumho ecsta, bridgestone, and proxie 4
since then and haven;t bubbled anything..

falken's can suck my ballsack..
the st115's were sick.. and the fk451's
were siick.. but the 452's went to shit
and they try to advertise it as a luxury tire...
plus their ad's contain cambered and stretched stances..

so they're just a bunch of dicks

Yea, its pretty much only fk452s that bubble from what ive seen.

on another note.. has anyone tried those no name brand tires?
DIAMANBACK? NEXEN? WanLi? Sunny?

if so.. how do they hold up?

I run nexen and sunny on my daily, they arent that bad. I wouldnt do any track days on them but theyre ok for a daily. No issues with cracks and bubbles or anything. Kinda loud but theyre cheap so what do you expect. Decent in the rain, nexen n3000 doesnt seem to last as long as the sunny's though.

My last set of 452's did the same thing.  I had my GS on a lift and was looking underneath it and noticed a 4 inch long bubble bulging from my inner sidewall of my drivers side front wheel!  It was so bad that I had a horrible vibration in my steering wheel going anything over 50 mph.  I had the tires not even a entire year and replaced the front.  I have yet to replace the rear, and am now noticing a few inner sidewall bubbles.  WTF is up with Falken?

I won't touch FK452 after all the issues people have had here.

I am running Falkens 452's but have not had any problems with bubbling.  But I have put bends in my wheels.....but I think that is my fault for driving so low.  LOL  I think that I may have to soften up my damping so that she will take the bumps a little better.  Already had to buss out the hammer and "Mcguyver" the bends so you can't "significantly" see the bends.  But so far she is still holding air (knock on wood)......just not "round" in shape like a wheel is "supposed" to be.  LOL  But being able to ride with rubber tucked and your oil pan guard 2 inches off the ground.........priceless.

I been using st115s for 8 months no problems. What kind of falkens were the ones you had? Im gonna need new tires soon, I think I am gonna try something else besides falken.

oh i shoulda clarified.. i had issues with FK452s only..

i had 451s and st115s and LOVED THEM!

I loved the ST115 and the FK 451s. FK 452s have the same problem on a 255/40/19 on a 19X9  on an LS430. Stock heigh and aligned every 3 months. I really don't like falken tires anymore. They killed the ST115 and the FK 452 is a bad tire. I have used Kumho ASX (by far the best tire ever) but they only come in 18 and 20 no 19s. tjextreme uses achilles atr and they are great! I am using  FullRun HP 199 right now and love them.  A little bit noisey but they work great and I will never roll on Federal s again. They have only lasted about 6 months and under 10K with 3 alignments and they are corded inside....

Actually the ST115s are still in production, but you have to get them at Discount Tire/American Tire.  While on the subject of Falken, would anyone still recommend picking up ZE512s?  My previous experience was that they stretched nicely with little to no problems, however it doesn't seem as though too many people use 'em in the VIP community.  I know that many in the Euro community live off of these tires for their soft sidewalls and ease of stretch, but what do you guys think?

Not many people run 512s cause they only go up to 18s.

My falkens never bubbled up, even when it wore all the way to the steel/cloth and then ran out of air.

But after reading this thread, I'm going to stay away from them.

Yea, they were FK452.  225/40 on 18x9.

Wow, what luck....I got a flat this morning too as I was heading for work while merging onto US 50. I had to drive on the flat for alomst 1/4 mile to get to a safe area. When I took off my wheel(passenger front), the inside was bent *sigh*
