project steez started.
hey guys, as of yesterday i have started my project. i got some gifts in the mail which i was telling youse about and now all i need are some tyres and im on my way. im working on doing up my interior in black. i hope some garson products will be used.
Im heading in the way of style with ease with my project. Im not having loud colours or a blinged up ride, I like the idea of laying low black classy rides with attention to detail and people appreciating what ive done.
So over the next couple of months ill put progress pics up and tell u my plans. For now i have some teaser pics of my rims that came, the specs are 18 x 9 + 24 and 18 x 10 + 29.
thanks, ryan

hey guys, i got my car booked in to get tyres on monday sooo hopefully get some pics up of the wheels on my car then.
Im thinking about a lip kit to go with the car. I dont really like the UCF11 body kits. I think they are a bit bulky.
Does anyone know what some companies are that do lip kits? or i was thinking of just putting the rear part of a body kit on, i want to sort of hide my wheels when looking from the back.
Also, has anyone on the forum tried retrofitting projector headlights into a ucf11 surround?

haha i know my car has to go lower.
I am still thinking about whether i go bags or stay coils. The coilovers in the car atm are kinda worn, so i either get them replaced or lowered and worked on by the shop. The only problem i have with that is my celsior is my daily car and i dont know how it would go being real low and driving it on pathetic australian roads.
I have a digital controller for airbags that came with the car and im pretty sure the oem setup is still in the car but the struts have just been removed. Thats why im still indesisive on if i should just buy some new aftermarket struts and run bags again.
Ill have a search around the forum
Has everyone got some pro's and con's of the two options.
Also i know coils are more OG lol.

have u guys got some pros and cons for bags and coilovers, i want to keep my car sort of stiff, but i like the idea of bags. If i run bags will my ride be really soft and have alot of body roll? thats the only reason im deciding what to get.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think bags will give you much body roll. I would probably go with coilovers, or if you wanted a coilover/bag set up. I'm sure there will be more knowledgable people that will chime in.
Much Respect.
Be Blessed.

Wallzy, nice car.
With air, you can raise or lower your car at the flick of a switch and have a cushy ride – what more do I need to say. It is very cool. =)
Air suspension systems are not complex, but it is important to have them designed properly or purchased from a credible manufacturer. Traditionally kits are more expensive.
I think you'd be better-off with a custom system if you decide to go with air. This route provides a more individual connection with your system. The dialing in of your settings/desires effect the selection of components within the system (e.g. valve and line size, ect). Things to remember – keep maintenance in mind when developing a system right for you, never to cut corners or go cheap, use good parts and most importantly a skilled individual must install it.
A common inquiry of air suspension is how to properly align a vehicle with it. It should be treated the same as any other vehicle but you need to establish a ride height. Once known, align the vehicle at this height. Most alignment troubles with air are a result of driving the vehicle at other than alignment other and ride height pressure.
I believe a lot of the horror stories surrounding air suspension have to do with poor installation and development.
… coilovers
There are many brands out there – ranging from the shameful to the honorable. However, there are two types, true and sleeve type. True coilovers use dampers with a threaded body and the other uses a sleeve type thread – hence the name.
In general, coilovers are designed/work as one unit and improve performance and ride attributes. They are also ideal for diverse weather and driving conditions. They are relatively easy to adjust - height and dampening adjustability provides personalization.
The sleeve type is a cheaper alternative to the true coilover. I think they are a poor design, I do not recommend it. they use an aluminum bodied sleeve in combination with a performance spring and shock. A single rotating plate with an Allen screw locking mechanism supports the base of the spring. I have heard of sleeves having rattling issues. The rattling comes from the diminutive space between the sleeve and the shockbody. Reason being – you need enough clearance to slide sleeve over the shockbody. This movement of the sleeve may cause the spring to slip. However, I have heard if they are properly done they should not rattle around at all. As a precaution I would tack weld the sleeves the shockbody if the path was taken.
True coilovers overall are a better design will provide more adjustability.
Research your choices. As I mentioned there are shameful and honorable coilovers - never decline quality for something less.

Hey guys, havent been posting much lately becuase ive just been getting some stuff together so i can continue on with my build.
A few weeks ago i picked up a front bumper and skirts for my car, i am in the proccess of re-styling them all, i have some pics of my progress below.
Along with the body kit, i have a set of JIC FTL TAR coil-overs (which are hopefully in the mail). They are the ones that BrianStyles had for sale. So when they come i will get a good drop on my car and once i finish styling the skirts and come up with some idea for a rear bumper i will be on the home stretch to a clean ride.
I am going to re-spray the car but im not sure what colour i want. I was thinking the Jade green metallic that my car already is but with more black in the mix. Has anyone got some pics of really dark green metallic cars? anyway ill keep youse posted.
