Yep, I have been there before but never for more than a weekend. I am looking forward to spending some real time there. Trying to pick up an LS400 (or 430) when I get down there and get on my feet. I have an SR20DET'd S13 wich I am ripping apart right now. I am keeping the engine and ditching the car before I come down. Hope to build the engine and then find something fun to put it into later. In the mean time it is VIP time. Are there any shops (tuning shops) down in the Miami area that are worth a crap? I have been spoiled by having friends at shops and friends in the fabricating business around here...

Ah, I should've posted on here before my trip to Orlando last weekend. We could've held a small mini meet. I ended up driving around downtown Orlando and saw a few tuner cars on Orange Ave and Columbia on Saturday night.

well there are a few shops here and there that are catered primarily to japanese cars but it seems they dont last too long. 80% of our goods come from the internet/mailorder.

correct, there are some shop links on the links page but none of them are worth mentioning. racing zone was a bad ass shop but i think it closed down. now that i think about it Enjuku Racing is in tampa i believe but they are more of a drifter geared shop.

I am from Tampa, and hope to get the convertible a little more VIP as time progresses, but anyways, shops in FL are growing in numbers, though I think it will be hard to find anything that caters to the traditional VIP cars. Tampa is home to XAT Racing, Z Fever, and Driven Concepts. The owner of Driven Concepts is currently building a mean GS300/Aristo, but thats the closest your going to get. Enjuku is actually located in Orlando and is definately drift oriented. There are also numerous shops that are just popping up and really havent gotten a name out as of yet. LS is an easy way to start, but so is the Y33 and there are a few near you for sale.  I almost picked up a black 99 with 84K miles for 7 G in Fort Lauderdale..... G/L

That would be sweet. I just got my car back from the shop. It was in an accident. She is looking almost brand new still a few minor things. but I am hoping to have it ready for HIN that would be fresh.

Ima bust my butt to be at HIN its a long road ahead, but yea I just got some work Eurolines that need to be power coated any good placed in Miami that anyone know of?

Miami here.. I got a couple people with real quick turn around times on  powder coating and good quality let me know.... I too am trying to have the previa Bagged, with the kit and some new paint by HIN along with some interior parts.... It still is my daily but things are going much better...

No But i heard they are good too. my friends shop called Label One. he does it all himself he has done some wheels for me and some suspension parts. also another guy that does polishing and coating at his house he does really good work too. There actually in plantation and davie which is where my spot is, but they are quick and take alot of pride in there work, so if there is and issue with the way it comes out they correct it promtly.

HIN miami beach is a good event for a meet up just to see how much people are in to the vip from florida , its in dicember my friend is also building an f50 with jp scara wheels that is going to be next to my f50 in a booth , so you will sure see it there for sure , ohh well lets see who is in for this event .

i went to last HIN in Miami and saw 2 VIP cars there. I was surprised. I;'m definitely going to Miami HIN in '08 too.

the more support the scene gets in sofla the more parts that can be aquired and for cheap as well. we need to recruit people haha, too many are scared of gas prices tho. can't wait to start hooking up my car, im back as long as everything goes the way i plan hopefully

What we need to have are VIP/EXE meets. Who wants to build a VIP/EXE car if we have to take them to lowrider/donk/hotrod/drift/ricer meets? If i build a VIP Car i would like to meet up with other VIP car builders too. Plus if we have meets it gives a chance for people to become intreasted in the VIP lifestyle and they'll  build their own cars and so on and so forth. Who would be down to have like a monthly hangout? We could do it at a location were it's halfway for eveyone, what do yall say?

Danny is no longer in business as of last year. Sold it all. No more Racing Zone. They will truly be missed.

Speaking of the owner of Racing Zone, a coworker and I got into a verbal argument about wheelsize and offset for the rears of the 2GS.  'Claims he called the owner of RZ and replied saying if I wanted to fit , at least, 10"-wide wheels in the rear, I would have to do heavy modification.  Riiight.

Take mine to S&R Performance on Linebaugh.  The guys that do the Fab work and Suspension work there are well known and do good work.

Seems like most of the posts regarding meets in Florida are from past years.  Would anyone be interested in organizing a possible meet for Florida VIP enthusiast in a couple months?  Give some time to spread word & advertise.  Orlando would be a good central location, pick some Saturday in the [B]spring (09')[/B] & find a decent sized parkin lot to meet at.  If anyone's interested, post a line this way...see if there's enough interest     :yahoo_101:

I really don't even know. There were talks of meets previously but nothing ever materialized before I left. My car is in Italy now....now if you want to ask how many VIP car owners there are in Italy......1. J/K

I really want the VIP scene to increase. I know there are a couple nice ones around Orlando (says my brother when I talk to him).

Thursday nights the Nissan crowd shows up after the muscle cars leave... It's hit or miss though on how many people show every week.

Here in Jacksonville i spotted a black VIP GS (????), it was tight as hell. There's another guy here with an white F50 (Qshadow). Those are the only other VIP platforms i've seen here in jax locally. Also we have one of the tightest XB (Dajap) here too.

Hey guys Qshadow hear, jubei07 sorry have not been incontact lately just trying to get things done to the car still want to see your setup. Just ordered the insurance coilovers for the f50. Finally! I saw that GS did it have a full kit on it? Saw it on 9A and was like "who is that?!" Give me 3 months or so and ill be ready for a meet. As small as it may be but we gotta start the "southside" somewhere.

I'm down for a meet. Next month Cars and Coffee will have another meet. Qshadow you should check it out. Nice rides out there!!

The last 2 events were at the Riverplace shopping center near the airport, where the Hollywood theatres is at. It's a more mature crowd, not the typical import street racing meet. Lots of exotics porsches, bimmers, Lambo with Work VS-XX wheels, last meet they had a Noble there too. I think they have Cars and Coffee in San Diego and Las Vegas too, as well as other locations.
