phone charger plugged 24/7/365?

Are there any cons to having your phone charger plugged in all day everyday?  Cons in regards to ruining your cellular phone.

Yes. Unless you take out your battery while you charge it, the battery life will slowly deplete.

Yeah, the battery will only charge for the amount of time it is off the charger.

lol if you take out the battery while you're charging it, what is the charger charging?

this is what I'm saying,
you shouldnt have your phone on while its plugged in because the battery life will slowly drain. If its charged, unplug it.

Constantly having your phone plugged into the charger is a good way to kill the cells. My portable navi only lasts like 10 mins off the charger. I always have it plugged into my car, since, well, it's ONLY in the car. The only way to bring back the life (maybe) is by charging it, letting it die, and charging it again, and you MIGHT get more use out of it. If not, go buy a new battery, and you'll be good to go.
 
Also, charging a phone before it's completely dead will kill the battery life as well....ever notice how that phone that used to last 3 days off a charge a year ago now has to be charged nightly? 
 
That's why I always let the phone completely die before I charge it, and don't pull it off the charger until it's done charging, or else you get that 'memory loss'.

it depends on the battery...supposedly lith-ion has no memory...but i think thats bull.   I've discharged my phone till the very last 5% left and let it charge fully.   This seems to last the longest.   Never do short charges like 10 min and 10 min there and 30 min here....it just kills the battery.    Batteries can only do so many cycles.    Also car chargers are bad.   They fluctuate in amperage and voltage which is why some phones get really hot in car chargers.    My car charger is only for emergencies when my battery is low or dead.

My iPhone is charging whenever I'm driving, because my headunit charges it while it's plugged in. Same for the brief moments that it's plugged into my computer.

It's a car charger....it gets replenished by this thing called an ALTERNATOR.

Probably not, but why would I want to?

iPhone goes through juice real quick when watching videos, and as an iPod, it's meant to be docked frequently.

I charged my Nano not quite as frequently, but still well before it was drained, and it still goes strong so I don't foresee it becoming an issue, but I guess that's to be determined.. I've only had this phone for a couple weeks.
