New rollers. Varianza S4S staggered. 19-20"
The all important numbers...
Front 19 x 9.5" +10 with 225/35/19 and 100mm dish - good tread but inners are worn in true vip style.
Rear 20 x 10.5" +5 - 120mm dish and the tyres are pretty much stuffed.
these will be going on my JZS147
Need some info from someone who has some experience fitting big wheels to the Aristo's.
What kinda guard work am i going to need to do to fit these wheels? Rolling and pulling will be taking place, and im assuming i will need to sand and re-paint the rear guards, which will be the hard part.
Suspention i am currently running is bilsteen coilovers with ohlins springs. problem is that they are non-adjustable... So will I NEED an upgrade? or will it be a try and see type thing. Also, with pulling the guards, will i be able to run less camber than if i was trying to squeese them in the factory guards with just a lip/roll?

Nice wheels. They were on the market for only one year before Work discontinued them so they might be a hot item in the future.
There are a few first gen Aristo/GS owners here who are running fairly aggressive setups. You should be able to find some useful threads in the Lexus/Toyota section. Good luck and welcome

ooooo nice wheels!good choice!
the fronts you're gonna have to shave the fenders or roll them completely flat.but you'll have alot of poke.here use my old car as an example.compared to your wheels to mines, your front would be 3mm more inward.
i think this was my ride hieght.

the rears you will definetly gonna have to roll and pull the fenders.more than mines was.your wheels will stick out 3mm's more than mines did.

oh and are you planning to go "vip" on your Aristo or are you gonna keep it that drifter/racer style?if you go "vip" please change out the the body kit,it looks horrible.sorry if you like it.

thanks for the help, planning on keeping the car 1/2 1/2. Has an admiration front bar (being repaired soon) and veilside skirts/rear.
Biggz, do you have any pictures of a few foot away from the car, so i can see the WHOLE wheel and arch, that style is what they call 'mexican' in australia, wheels outside guards, with arch, above top of wheel.

i got this pic.but this was before the spacers.in those pics above i had a 20mm spacer in the front and a 8mm spacer in back.
so with your specs,in the front imagine it sticking out 14mm's more and the rears 11mm's more

truth.
The best I can figure is they cut the spoke faces too thin so it looked to sporty. You would think shuriken wheels would be a huge hit in japan.

Timing is everything. If they would have waited 6-12 months to release this wheel, it would of been a sucess. A lot of wheel makers are going with a similiar style wheel in their current line ups.

blind - BIGGZ was on air so he ran spacers so that when he was dumped his wheels were flush as, and then at ride height it meant they stuck out like the first lot of pics he posted.
i reckon you will want the adjustability of coilovers to fine tune your setup. you dont HAVE to if by some luck it works out, but i reckon you'll probably end up needing some adjustability.
if you are on coilovers, you may be able to acheive a ride height somewhere between BIGGZ ride height on air and his dropped height. A couple of degrees of camber also will help which you should also be able to have on coils.
then you've got extra stretch as well. if you know you dont want too much camber and want to pull, then your best off getting the lips hammered in and then pull the guards from there. whereas if you shave the lips right off then decide you want to pull, the panel is gonna be quite thin on the edge.
its gonna have a heck of a lot to do with ride height etc though cause with the 19/20 stagger and the pulling of guards and so on, you really want to end up with the pull matching the curvature of the rim and tyre. so if your car is non-adjustable you may not be able to acheive the best look.

yea, what i will most likely do is fit the wheels with the current susp setup, then later on down the road buy the adj suspention.
Wheels didnt take on in mass as they are close to $6000 AUD BEFORE tyres... so close to $7000 aud for a set of wheels kinda cuts the crop.

Hey Blind, ahh you bought the varianzas!! I was seriously thinking about buying them for my ls400 but was going to cost me too much in bodywork to fit them. Once I pay off my JICs I'm sure the boys at importmonster will be bringing more vip wheels in.
Awesome wheels can't wait to see them on your car!! Good luck with the fitment.

hey, thanks mate. Yea i think there were 3 serious buyers. I waited 24 hours for anyone involved to be contacted about my acquisition. I guess im just the lucky bugger to ended up with em! :) Ive been quoted around $250 a corner to get the guard work done in primer, i need to re-paint my bonnet and front bumper anyways. So it's kinda all falling into place. But Coilovers ontop of that is another added cost im going to have to factor in : (

Awesome man, glad you got them, they would have looked crazy on my LS but I thought it was best to sort the suspension first then go for wheels, the varianzas definatley weren't cheap!
Can't wait to see them on your car! When you fitting them?

im making payments over next month, so it should be 6 weeks for trial fitting, and done and dusted in 7 weeks. Then its onto painting, and somehow fitting in a new gearbox inbetween. LOL.
I like the design because the agressive spokes on the S4S will suit the more 'race' look of my aristo, i am looking into getting the Admiration side skirts (maybe rear bar) if i fit airbag suspention.
