2000 LS400

I just brought home my 2000 LS400 Millenium Limited edition (CAN-spec). It seems it has the same options as the Platinum Edition in the US minus the monochrome paint.
Picked it up for $9200 (US) and it has 60k miles.

I realize they're a pretty weak offset in regards to VIP but fuck it I like'em.
I know it needs a serious drop and that's in the works.
Spacers will be added once I get it lowered and I know what I'm dealing with.
I'm also thinking Magnaflow dual oval tip mufflers & smoked side markers.

Nice start man!  Definitely one of my favorite platforms.  Offset is weak, but they are nice wheels.  It won't look bad at all if you slam it, what are you planning on doing as far as suspension goes?  Air or coilovers?

dont worry about the offset, as long as you get a good spacer, then it will poke more and give the look that it is more aggressive.
 
where'd you find the wheel at? i'm looking for ssr vienna dish II for my 2 gen gs and i like the euroline dh as well. any help?

I've set my sights on Megan coilovers. All the reviews I've read have been great.

I think I'm gonna go for the tucked look instead of hella flush. The tires just won't work for the flush look and with the amount of driving I do on not so great roads I decided any real stretch wasn't worth the risk. I'm thinking I'll be able to get away with 15mm spacers all around with a fender roll and some camber. We'll see.

I bought the wheels used off CL. Wish I could be more help.

Plans are to go monotone. We'll see when that happens. Coilovers are more of a priority right now.

sweet!  rims look hard.  i dont know about the fogs being tinted thou.

Tinted fogs are purely personal preference. They're completely useless where I live.

I actually like the fogs clear and the ambers...

Just had my car detailed this weekend. What a difference! Looks new again.

You'll notice i cleared the corners and the side markers were off being tinted at the time of the pics.

Multiple stages of high-speed polish to make paint nice and flat again. Then polish, wax and sealant (not necessarily in that order). Best to check out the link.

A light tint would have smoothed them out more.

The jury is still out on the tinted fogs. I'll wait for my coilovers to go on before I make a final decision on them.

I know why you have black fogs. the body shop forgot to mask them and painted over them .

I actually gave that a quick thought but obviously decided against it. I just don't like fog lights. IMHO they are completely impractical for 98% of most areas. I do realize they have an aesthetic function as well.
Coilovers are here. Just got to get them installed. Hopefully next week.

Megan coilovers, chrome badgeless grille, cleared corners, tinted side markers, chrome pillars, muffler delete and twin oval tips.
Just gonna enjoy for a while.
More camber, spacers and window visors coming soon...

Coils are great. I noticed more of a difference in stiffness going from the stock 16's to my 20's. I didn't believe the ride could be so good until I experienced it myself.
The fronts are almost at full height. I just rolled my fenders so I plan to drop it a little more this week. My biggest problem is my tires - 245f & 275r. I don't want to stretch seeing as this car sees about 20k miles a year.

That's as low as she's going. I still rub the front fenders if my wheel's turned any more than half going up or down a driveway and going over speed bumps it scrapes the resonator sometimes. I think it's the screw that holds the fender liner at the top. I'll see what I can do to solve that problem. And remember I'm running 245f & 275r tires.
The Megan coilovers still keep the suspension more than comfortable too.

how does the megan ride vs oem?

I noticed a bigger difference in ride quality going from 16's to 20's. They're comparable to stock. It really depends on how low you crank them. I find I bottom them out on harsh bumps but I have them pretty much as low as you can go for daily driving. I definitely recommend them.

Car looks great. I rarely see Work DH's with stepped lips. The before and after pics of the monotone paint makes we want to get mine painted sooner. You've changed its looks pretty quick. Nice!

The step lips are what sold me on the wheels even though the offsets are pretty conservative.
I could only go lower if I was on air. The exhaust and heat shields are scraped to hell already. Oh well, gotta pay to play.

ur plates says ONT, are u in the GTA area? if yah it sucks having alower car, alot of bad roads out there. btw did you import your car from the state? 9,500 US is hella good deal for a ls 400 with 61 miles.

Ya, I'm in the GTA - west end. I stay away from the core as best I can.
I picked the car up from St. Catherines. I just converted the price to US and mileage to miles seeing as most members on this board are south of our border.

The rear rim is actually much deeper than i expected for a +40.  Nice car:biggthumpup:

He didn't have precut pieces for my LS. I got 2 big pieces and cut it myself. It took no more than 10 minutes with an exacto knife. You can do it easily.

humm adding a twist to my Y34 at low cost VS the 600 led upgrade for the tail lights ...I think i am going to try that for my next mini project !!

I was curious because I was thinking about doing the same for my stock tails or doing the pieces on a set of red/clear's that I know are clear-edged and I wanted them to be red-edged.

Had a local retorofitter install FX45R Bixenon projectors and Porsche Cayenne shrouds. I'll add pics of light output comparison later. I still have to go through the process of aiming them correctly tonight. I can see the cutoff in my garage and it's it's a million times crisper than the OEM HID.

I have 99 ls400 then i go lower my car with coil and then  ABS,VSC light show up.What can i do to fix that please let me know if u have the same problem

Still have a ways to go.
Been having tank pressure reading issues. The display has been showing double what the tank pressure really was. Replacing the tank pressure sensor with a 0-400psi one.
Height sensors still have to be installed.

That looks tough as now man! I am thinking about taking the same advice as you and getting the two tone gone and painting my car single tone. I think it was you who suggested it in my cars thread!

Yup. I think it brings it more up to date. Quite a few people have asked me if it's 'brand new'. When I tell them its 10 years old they don't believe it.

Which Megans did you run? Another one of my favorite LS400's

I ran Megan LP's. A little soft for riding as low as I do now. I have air now so it's s non-issue.

Nice!!! Yeah, the plan for me is to probably go as low as you were with the coils!! But I have a feeling that will change once I get coils on my car haha. I was debating between Megan LP's vs EZ's. But now more of a debate between Custom rate BC's vs LP's.

Saw it rollin' on the hwy today, first time seeing it in Motion in quite some time and gotta say it looks it's best.

I could never figure out a good way to treat the rear wall of my old setup. The amp needed to be upgraded as well.
So I tossed the old setup and worked on this one for the last couple weeks in the evenings.

Old amp was a Massive Audio NX5. Crazy small footprint but just didn't have enough juice for my subs.
New amps are JL HD600/4 and HD750/1. A little bit bigger foorprint but more than acceptable. And they are exactly the same size so symmetry is easily accomplished.

The old floor was one single piece of 3/4" plywood and was a PITA to put in and out when I had to get to my water trap. So I used 1/2" mdf this time with some hinges. The floor will be upholstered so the hinges will be covered with padding and they won't be seen.

Very nice but I dont know why everyone hates the two tone! I think it looks sick either way but I would deff have left the two tone.

Personal preference I guess. I thought the 2-tone dated the car.

Timmy & Dranom: the dyed OEM leather looked like ass in the end. So I went with ultra suede. Its automotive grade. Hopefully it lasts.
