alright, so my idea isn't too well thought out. and i don't know if this is going to be a repost. but i'm just curious if it might be possible to do a Crown Majesta converion to a Lexus LS400

anything is possible. the ? is how much it's going to cost you??? pretty sure you could just get the front and rear clips from japan and the fab up the rest and make it work. a good body shop could do. But again the ? is how much is it worth to you??????/

thats a pretty expensive conversion, i know myself and a few friends have thought about it for a few cars...headlights, fenders, hood, grille, core support and misc items will be needed...nothing listed is cheap. GL to you if you decide to do it...and if you do, please keep us in the know =)

like everyone said, this will be a very very very expensive conversion. Anything is possible as long as you have a good body shot, lots of patience and of course the unlimited funds to do it.

You would be better off trying to do it with a GS chassis as they are both JZS

as others have mentioned, all comes down to how much monies you wanna spend.
and in case you thought so, no, the LS doesnt share it's chassis with any other cars, the (U)CF chassis was only used for the LS/Celsior, unlike the (J)ZS chassis which was used for the GS/Aristo/Mark/Crown/etc...

ok, so i was mistaken on the chassis. i guess it'd be much cheaper to just import one than to do a conversion. but i absolutely love how the 98 Majesta looks. well, i think it's the 98 model. i like the one that has the kinda triangle tail lights. but the problems of importing one is all the emissions and legalization of the car. that's the only reason i'd do a body conversion. if i had a place to do it, i can do all the fab work and welding and body work myself, but i don't have my own shop and i'm not in the body repair business anymore. from what i've seen about the majestas, i'd also have to order the doors b/c i think they have frameless glass in them

Just a side note if all you need is a place to work try craigslist. My buddy got a spot to work in a heated garage in the middle of the suburbs with a lift and a ton of space for $75 a month.
The doors... wow... a front and rear conversion is one thing but the doors is a whole other animal. I would guess the difference between importing a 98 and doing a conversion yourself would be a couple thousand dollars one way or another. The thing is at the end of the day you've either got a real RHD majesta or a GS/LS with a different face on it. That's the reason I didn't end up changing the face on my GS. It's so, so much work and there are ZERO guarantees.
