Aftermarket Rotors/Pads for the Egg

I posted this up in the "Wheels/Suspension" but being that I got no responses figure it wouldn't hurt to put it in this section.

I already got me a set of Aftermarket Cross Drilled/Slotted Rotors but they are "warped" (e-bay special, yeah I know I should of known better)and I got some major shaking going on. Being that brakes are "kind of" important I am looking for something new. I know that I have the option of getting some factory rotors from Servco Toyota but figured if I am going to be spending money anyways I might as well spend a little more to get a product with better stopping power.

On my Nissan that I used to own I ran Brembo Slotted/Cross Drilled Rotors and Hawk Pads. They worked great. But as I checked to see if they had anything for my Egg I realized that they do not carry my application.

Anyone have any suggestions...........my Egg is a 97 which does not have ABS. I am just looking for front Rotors and Pads. Forgot to mention that I am not looking to drop big dollars to do a "complete" BBK set up.

look and see what they have on yahoo japan. thats the only place you will find top notch stuff for our brakes.

^^^^^Yeah I've been checking Yahoo Auctions Japan, but would prefer to find something Stateside.  But if there are no other options then I guess I may have to hit Japan up.

Can't say that I have heard of Disc Italia, but I do like that they do offer "Brake Pads" also.  Anyone heard of these before?  Sorry not too farmiliar with my Brakes.  I know the Brembo Brand but would like to use the same brand of "Pads" if possible.  Just that little extra peice of mind that both Pad and Rotor will work well together.  Or atleast that is my hope.

Your thoughts......any other suggestions and opinions out there for our Eggs?  Thanks ahead of time.

I was looking into putting a Supra stock brake setup but haven't had the time to see if its compatible. Friend has it sitting in his garage. BTW, what brand was the rotors? Just curious.

I found Brembo Rotors which I know to be legit, I am hesitant because I would like to have the same brand of Rotors and Pads to ensure that they "should" work best together.

The other brand is "Disc Italia" to be honest I have never heard of this brand before.  But "seems" more legit than a couple other brands that I have found.  

I guess I could always go with Brembo and pick up some Ceramic Pads to help reduce any heat build up.  "Heat Build Up" is the exact reason why I when with the R1Concepts (E-bay) to begin with.  Being that my RAPIERs are Full faced I wanted to disapate heat with the use of Cross Drilled/Slotted Rotors.

There are other brands on Yahoo Auctions Japan, do you think that it is worth spending the extra Shipping to go JDM?

yoshi - Racing Brake makes good rotors, but they only list the rears...not sure why they don't make fronts, or maybe they just aren't shown on their website?

Thanks for the heads up on Racing Brake, its too bad that they don't offer any front Rotor applications.  My rears are Drums and don't plan to change them to Rotors.  My main focus is the fronts.

So no one has heard of Disc Italia before?

Akebono Euro Ceramic pads are hands down one of the best dustless ceramic pads out there. Mine have yet to ever make a peep, even after some harder braking.

I actually did see the Akebono's..........the name made me think twice.  LOL  But hearing that you had a great experience I may take another look at possibliy the Brembo Rotors and Akebono Ceramic Pads.

akebono is dope yoshi, the new g37s/fx50 brakes are made by akebono and those things are sick. i doubt they make rotors for your application though.
honestly i dont think you need to worry too much about getting the same brand pad n rotor. 

check out tirerack.com they had disc italia for awhile, and carry brembo. BUT i would recommend a cryo treated rotor for longevity. the brembo oem type rotors rust like crazy in hawaii, faster than my r1concept rotors(yeah i had those too like 4 years ago LOL) i like plain or slotted over the drilled and slotted combo, theres just too much noise coming from the brakes.  i like the akebono pads over the hawk hps and satisfied pro ceramics. ive had all 3 and akebono had the least squeaks and had decent stopping power. if i remember correctly the hawks had the least dust. or it could have been the satisfied ceramics. it was the finest lightest color dust ive had. i wish i could remember for sure. both are pretty cheap thats why.
just read up on reviews on pads and find a solid rotor to your liking and budget.

Thanks for the input, I am currently leaning towards the Brembo (Plain) and Akebono Pads.  But did not know that Brembo were prone to rusting.  By rust are you reffering to the "hub" or on the rotor itself?  One good thing about a "Full Faced" wheel is that you can't see.  My main concern is being able to stop.

Also regarding the Hawk pads, they were a great set of pads, but I recall a whole lot of dust.  I was originally looking at some Hawk pads but seeing that they don't make my application that made my decision that much easier.  LOL

Anyone have any experiences with Disc Italia by chance?

i have trouble with brembo rotors for my nissan 240sx.....i will 100% for sure that the hub section will rust big time....the only cure for that problem is paint the hub with high heat paint b4 u put it on....by doing that, it will last a lot longer..... did any1 done it or make one for bigger brake kit or bigger calipers? i think i will be try to figure out soon....
