//-The Deal Mobile-\\

My dad bought this car new back in 98.  It was the first Spectra Blue in Dallas and he bought it off the owner of Park Place.  He is a business owner and whenever he would pull up somewhere for a business meeting, his clients would call his car the "Deal Mobile."

Well, 11 years later its mine and I've given it my own interpretation to make it a present day "Deal Mobile."

This community has really shaped my thoughts on how to go about modifying this car, and this is Phase 1 of hopefully several more to come with this car.  Really have so many people to thank, but enough talk... let the pictures speak for themselves.  Feel free to give feedback whether it be + / - .

Thats one beautiful color. I second that its more rare the the black cherry pearl. Only seen 2 blue ones ever. Keep up the good work. And those moving shots are awesome. I think ive found my new backgound screen!!

Who you kidding Chris?  I have been trying to roll like you bro.. seriously, thats quite the compliment coming from someone with a ride like yours.  
 
When the 2GS came out, it was just so incredibly different then any other sedan on the market.  Combined with the Spectra blue, this thing just caught everyone's eye.   It just said "playmaker" or "this man gets things done" to a lot of people.  The name evolved from that.  11 yrs later, still catching people's attention.

Where you been man?  Haven't seen any recent pics from you.  For about 6 months your sunset shot near the beach of your black cherry was my desktop background.  Insane shots!  I want to see more of them.  Whats the latest on your ride?

Based on your sig, it looks like you've already achieved it.  When I first became a member, I remember seeing pics of your car and going, "damn how the hell does it drive that thing?"  Funny how this place will change your perspectives on things.

Next up will be window visors and a roof wing, and would love to source some L-tuned skirts or modify some others.. we shall see.

I've been pretty stubborn about not switching them out, cause no one really rocks the 98 tails.... but I'm starting to come around.  If anything, it would probably be the Insurance LED tails with the thin white.

I absolutely love this car. I think those insurance tail lights would definitely set it off. 

I also think chrome doorhandles, trunk bar and new exhaust would complete it. But that's just me.

I haven't been on in a while. I had a lot going on in life (job slowing a little, 3 year relationship ending, bla, bla...) Had the Black Cherry beast for sale, but got nothing but low-ballers so now I'm keeping her. Nothing new really new as of now, but BIG plans are on the way  :)

Keep up the awesome work... now I have a new desktop background =)

He laughs every time he sees it .. last time he drove it, he thought the car was falling apart every time he hit a bump.. needless to say he doesn't like driving it anymore.  He's glad I have it though.  Lots of memories in this car.

I hear ya man.  Life changes are happening with everyone these days.  Also hear ya on the lowballers ha.  Tried selling back in November, but that was a joke.  Glad I didn't cause I love this thing.

Lots of scraping, sandblasted front ends from debris and small cracks all over the windshield from hurling rocks.   Thats before the dead dog carcus in the middle of the hwy lane your traveling down in the dead of night, but I will get to that later.

That's exactly how I got my spotless '85 MR2 - my Dad bought it new.

I have Spectra Blue with grey leather. It's a 2000 GS400, a pretty
rare combination... I bought it in '03 from a guy in Arizona, who bought
it new from Longo Lexus local to me. It took me six months to find the 
"right" car (SBM on tan on the GS300 seems to be a lot more common,
which itself is quite rare).

It's been fun seeing my car go through its' various stages and mods
and I haven't gotten bored with it so far. Like yours, mine's a keeper!

Most of the compliments I get on the car are related to the color.

I'll be looking forward to seeing future mods on your rig. The 2GS
definitely needs side skirts, and I like the cleared tails idea
(I have the Quest LEDs on mine).

I've had the car for about 2 years now, so between doing all the maintenance and modifications its taken a lil bit to get to this point.  

Love what you have done to your ride.  I studied your build when I first got my car and have kept a close eye of it as its evolved.  The custom work and paint in particular have made you one of the pioneers for the 2GS stateside.  Really impressive work.

Always have wondered about your corolla and NSX build... where are you on those?

Thanks for the kind words! My GS is essentially retired since I have other, more "practical" cars (I drive my new Odyssey as a daily). I did take the GS out today for a bit and the car still gets thumbs-up and comments from people - sort of validating after all the time, energy, and expense. And the sound and power of the V8 is intoxicating...

As far as other projects, the NSX is done, the Corolla is finished except for the new engine & trans which need to go back in, and the MR2 is finally painted but still has a heap of work to be done (interior is all suede, custom dash, still needs turbo piping when engine & trans go back in).

I have a couple of other projects, too, but the others are old school ('63 Cadillac Convertible, '49 Ford Tudor Coupe). These will progress as time and $ allow - I know you can relate to that!

even though i never saw this car, i can appreciate the cleaness of it. hopefully when i move back nex feb, ill get to lay my eyes on it!
