My bro finally juiced his new ride!

sick.....is how do you like the hydros over air....i understand maintainace on hydros is intense but what about the ride comfort...?

Maintenance isn't as bad as you think.  A lot has changed...

The only "routine" maintenance is charging the batteries once every 2-3 weeks if the car is a daily driver. Other than that, I went two and a half years before I needed to change my seals.

Ride is great by the way. But most never believe me until they take a ride in the car...

Give props on the cleaness and simplicity of the install , great work .
Just, using an IS 250 for hydro ?
Its unibody is weak as hell and will bend faster than my ls400 on air as it has.
Definatly look at getting it spot welded at the seams to keep it tight.

I love your brother and his magical suspension. Is he leaving the batterys and system in the trunk like that or is he going to build an enclosure around it?

Nah. The unibody is fine. Never been an issue on any of his cars. Mine is still tip-top as well after 30,000 miles and a few years.

so for hydros..is ride height jus all the way up? like higher than stock?or can u adjust it like air? id like to see some videos if u have any

I forgot to ask, do you know if you can set the hydraulics to stop at a certain point or does it operate fully extended to fully compressed?

Are you asking in the sense of always having a specific drive height or just not wanting to tuck too much?

Ride height is 100% adjustable to where you want it to be. If I'm cruising PCH, I lift the car up half an inch and drive super carefully. If I'm in a rush and just need to go, then this is my height:

I am concerned the kit will be wrecked cause the car will drop lower then the kit makes it. Also I am curious if I can set a ride height. I've been playing around with some ideas that would make it difficult to get it to sit right.

You can set it up via the adjustable threads and/or cylinder extensions to where it lays out exactly how you want it to and not destroy your kit.

On a side note, I work in Montgomery, AL a lot which is home of the donks.  If I had hydros I could ride VIP style till I get there and ride DONK around town :smiley-rofl:

The ride is great. I have ridden in Brandons car and it rides very well on the freeway. Actually a little soft in the rear. The accumuators can be charged to different pressures to give the ride feel you want.

off topic, but if you dont mind what kind of tint/percentage is on that IS?

Good question about the tint %.  My guess is 10% rears and 20% front?  

The ride is great...the bigger the bump, the more the car absorbs it.  I have my accumulators charged pretty high at 500psi, but I think it was a little more stiffer when it was in the 350-400 range.

How much weight did all that gear add?  I'm wondering how the 250's engine performs wtih all the extra stuff.....

The batteries are about 50-60lbs each, the pumps i have no idea, the wheels are a bit heavier than the stocks. i would guess there is about an extra 300lbs.

i bet it rides worse than my s14

Batteries are 50lbs each and the pumps are 30 each.  About 230lbs plus the wheels I guess.  

I am going to do a video soon demonstrating how nice this car rides.  If there is anyone local in the Phoenix area that wants to take a ride as a testimonial on this thread, you're more than welcome to.

The weight of the wheels probably makes a bigger difference than the hydraulics.

you have a V8... the IS250 has an anemic V6. 204hp and 185lb ft of torque. it was slow to begin with.

I do have a 4.0L engine, but it's the inline 6, not the V8.  Mine is pure Jaguar, not Ford.  But yah..with this car, performance isn't my priority.  I have another build for that fix.
