please help VSC!

i was running federals on my rims but i needed two new tires for the front. so i got 2 new hankooks cause they were only like $100 a tire. i mounted them and once i did i noticed they didnt strech as good as the federals. im running a 215/35/19 on a 9inch rim(thats what the federals were also)well neways they keep slowly leaking air around the bead. and lastnight when i went to put my car in the garage i noticed that the tire bead broke and it came off the rim. has neone else had this problem? any suggestions? other then getting new tires lol? i really dont wanna buy 2 more new tires funds r a lil low right now:sad:

In my honest opinion the tires that stretch the best are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 but they are very pricey. Another one that I would say is the best bang for your buck is Falken FK-452. But I would stay away from the cheaper brands such as Nankang, Lexani (Nexen), Wanli etc.

Don't buy FK452's unless you like tire bubbles. I run Nankang NSII and Nexen N3000 daily with no problems. They are cheap, don't bubble up and they stretch better than Falkens. FK452's run big.

Trust me I worry a lot. Air has nothing to do with saving your wheels and tires. I drive as low as you do. Air only saves your body kit. Even if you lift up your car and hit a pothole, you're going to get a tire bubble or bend. It's just personal experience that everyone I know has had a FK452 bubble. But we have good luck with the cheaper tires.

Fyi..i'm down 2 1/2 sets of Fk452 and dumped daily on coils and no bubbles yet? I did just replace my fronts (were Michlen Pilots) because of bubbles though...

ive gone through 3 sets of fk452 and lost 2 of the 3 sets due to bubbling. 
to the original op, in my personal experience, usually the bad bead is the installers fault.

I had Nankang NSII sidewall burst after 3 days. Didn't hit a pot hole or anything it happened right one the highway

What do you mean dont buy cheap tires?  Ive had hankook, and nankang...  They never had any problem with stretch..

i like the federals i have been running for a while and there not that expensive either

if you want tire bubbles, use fk452.

nankangs and nexens have no problem with stretching.

havent had a problem with my Nitto NT555s running a mild stretch.
225/35-20 on a 9j
245/35-20 on a 10.5j

I'm going to try federals one day....   Grant seems to run them and his car is pretty aggressive and he hasn't had much problems.   As far as I know.

I've said it before but my ST115 had no problems but then again it wasn't an aggressive stretch and it was abit taller side wall.    I really believe low tire pressure causes sidewall failure on any tire due to hitting pot holes and such...or even going up driveways.    FK452 I still feel has design flaw or just not made well.

Keep the air pressure high enough in your tires and half of these people wouldn't have had any problems.

As a guideline, with stretched tires, I run an additional 15-20% pressure over the maximum suggested on the sidewall. 

With the E30, when I had 195/40-16s on the 16x9s, I ran 60psi. 

I run 60psi as well on my Ordens, which are 19x10 with a 225/35-19.

About the Hankooks, you may be able to just take the wheel off, and air it up and seat the bead again.  And this time, up the pressure!  The extra pressure will help press the bead against the rim.

i have never had any luck with any falkens.

Beads breaking, bubble'd sidewalls, they are just a headache.

I just ordered a set of Nankangs ns2s, and I'm sure its going to be great.

i have a few friends running Nankangs, 225/30 on a 20x10, 225/35 on a 19x9

they stretch great and cheap.

i like the nexens..they stretch really well on my wheels. Look in the stretch tire thread on how it stretched on mine. I posted up pix :) i havnt had any problems so far with them !!

If you are looking for something inexpensive then definitley stick with the federals. I have always used them especially for drifting. For daily drifting I ran 215/40/18 on a 18x10 and 225/40/18 on a 18x11. Never had any problems besides burning them up! Plus the stretch is sick as hell.
