Valet damaging car.... 6 day old fabulous bumper cracked already :(

6 days ago I got my Fabulous front bumper redone perfectly... i was feeling good about the car because it was just clay'd, polished then wax'd so i took it out.

So I go to K-Town in LA to go to GAAM Yakitori. I valet my car. I had a weird feeling about my car at dinner so i go check it out... and i was right. Obviously because the car is dumped he hit the parking stump and it cracked the bumper in 2 spots. So I tell the guy and first hes like, you should have told us your car is lowered. I'm like, you're valet in a upper class plaza, you deal with shit like this all day. Then hes like, this didn't happen here. So i point all the facts at him, the parking stump WITH the paint and mark from my bumper. I point to him how all the cars are parked over the parking stump so that would mean he also did try that and failed, obviously. So he brings over other people that work there and they're all like this couldn't have happened here. Again, I point out the facts and parking stump that clearly shows proof. We get in a heated argument because he keeps denying it AFTER he said 'you should have told us your car is lowered'. So the manager comes and we talk for awhile about the situation and how the facts are stacked on my side against them. Again, they're basically denying it all though. So he says hes going to call the boss...but the boss is out of town so he gave me the number of him to call tomorrow.... 

I took pictures of everything. 

So how do you think this will turn out? Will they actually pay up for their negligence? or will they basically say fuck you again.

When you talk to them be like "I already have legal representation if we have to take this to the next level; and based off of the photographs I took i've been advised it'll be a open and shut case. I got to have a nice new bumper for 6 days before your valet messed it up. I'm trying to get this settled quietly without me having to make it a big deal.  Are you willing to work with me?" and play it from there. Talk slowly and calmly and you should have a good shot.

I always like to valet my own car..yep..I pay for valet, but park it myself.  Hahaha..seriously, I want the good spot, but hell if some homo is going to mess my ish up.

I usually give the valet guy the valet fee and his tip and told him to just let me park up front myself.

i'm sure he will do that from now on, but otherwise they BETTER pay for the damage! it should come out of the paycheck of the idiot who took your car!

Big mistake, dont let anyone drive your car but yourself.  I never let any valet douche get close to the lex.  Hope everything works out for you

you should have called the cops so they could make a police report. but hopefully with all your pics and the receipt of the new paint job it should all work out for you.

Yeah I did call the cops but they said they can't make a police report with the situation but they said if they keep denying it then I can file a hit and run with them since the officers saw all of the facts and agree'd with my side.

sorry to hear that, but letting a valet drive a nice car is a no no. but letting them drive a freshly painted, lowered car is most definitely a no brainer buddy. hope things work out. if the valet service is run by a big company you should be ok since you got pictures and receipts. just use the legal angle that green grundel mentioned.

Not gonna hate on your valet decision, cuz i constantly get valeted. I do however tell them it's super low and ask if it will clear their parking area. If not "Baby, get back in the car. We need to find another parking spot"

damn that blows... they will pay for the damages...

I called the number that I got from the attendent, he didn't pick up so I left a message. I also went on to their company website (AAA PARKING) and there was a claims email, so I sent an email with all the details and pictures. I'm going to call that company on monday.

That's got to be so frustrating

A couple of cars got damaged by careless incompetent "models" at the show last night, it just sucks that the owners like you have to go through all that kind of hassle because of someone else's incompetence.

i haven't yet had an issue with my car in the valet (fingers crossed), but i usually ask them to just leave it out front, which usually works cause nobody wants to drive my car

Tomorrow is when I go ape shit on the valet company. I called them so many times and left them a message and did the email claim but no response. I think 4 days is long enough for them.

you should go there and call the police and file a police report on there company to have it on record.....write all the times you call and try to work it out docament everything....if they have a corparate number call that up.....but go there and file a police report ,oh yeah have your friend call up and pretend they are an laywer tring to get info .....:biggthumpup:But say i told yah...

i would suggest that you find the parking coordinator or the head guy and trash things out with him ... i had a similar case with an accident and they paid for my rear bumper .. which i never changed :) took the cash and ran ...

Hey man, sorry to hear about the incident. I've never used a valet on any of my cars before, just because of the Ferris Bueller reference. Hopefully it works out for you.

Wow, shit is going to get ugly. The valet company wears the shirt, and uses the logos AAA Parking but isn't apart of their branch. I'm going back to K-town today to regulate the person. The person that I talked to at the valet place also told me to call this number, i left many VM and called it over 20 times with no answers.

I used to work for a big valet company here in hawaii, and we've had our share of mishaps.. if a customer wants to park the car him/herself they can do so just pay $4... 

We had a guy park his evo8 along the wall on the down ramp. He left, then came back and said some one keyed the passenger side of his car. He kept insisting it happened while it was with use at valet BUT me, having a background in autobody repair and paint gonged him cuz there was dirt in the key marks... meaning, the key marks were old...

Usually if we do, do something wrong like hit a car, or dentsomething, or whatever, we report it in, wait for the customer to come out and tell them what happened, most of the time, they are happy that we told them that they just let it go. Other times, our company will pay for the repairs... 

Just keep buggin them, if you haven't done so already get an estimate for the repairs. And if you have to take them to court, sue them only for the repair price, and maybe court fees and nothing more. If you try to sue to make money it'll make you look like all you want is money....  let them know you would like to handle this out of court, but if it comes down to it you'll take them to court... hopefully by then, they will get scared..... 

Or just do what I do when I need something handled, I send my brothers...lol

See, I was hoping they would be honest about what happend, but theyre being HELLA shady!! I went back tonight and they said they are the company AAA Parking but when i contacted AAA  Parking corporate they said they aren't at that location, yet they have the correct logos and correct uniforms....? Tomorrow the valet manager said the boss will be calling me. I took the valet managers telephone number down and called it to make sure its his number. The manager seemed to be helpful. This other fool that worked for the manager said, in Korean, 'dont give him your number' right after i asked for his number. straight up du ma

the bottom mark on the front bumper is where it hit the parking stump. then the rest of the bumper flexed. theres 2 more cracks on the otherside of the bumper

It is unfortunate that they caused some damage to your bumper. It always sucks when your things get damaged, either through your own actions or by someone else's.

I have been following your little saga here for what a week or two... And I think you should proceed with fixing it yourself. When you're done you should submit an invoice to them for the work done. If you're able to collect in some legal manner -- great, more power to you. However if you're unable to receive any compensation, just take it as a lesson and move on.

From the pictures you posted I noticed the rest of your car could also use some body/paint work. Maybe you should take this opportunity to get your car cleaned up how you really want it to be. The damage you posted is relatively small; easily repaired by any competent fiberglass/paint/body person.

Lol, so the owner never once picked up my phone calls but i remembered last time i was there he picked up for the managers. I had the managers number so i called the owner with the managers number and he picked up for me... im meeting up with the owner today and the valet around 6 630.

Good luck in the meeting, that sucks for it to happen to a new bumper but i have ridden in a carpark with a valet attendant and the way they drive is downright scary. Fair enough they say they know the carpark well, but change one factor (lowered car etc) and they would easily do damage....

 OLD NEWS, but I'm glad it all worked out man, my car was hit in a hit and run while I was at work - all of a sudden Sheriffs come walking in asking for me...Long story short all kinds of concerned witnesses filed a report, so I ended up having to take dude to court and I never got paid, waste of time and money in my case - glad it worked out for you man:biggthumpup:
