Which Y34 headlights should I do?

Ok I am extremely torn between 2 ideas I have. Thankfully since basically nobody has a Y34 on here I can say them without worring about someone taking them haha

Idea 1: The thing that turned me on to the cedglo in the first place was the black housings with the round headlights. I thought it looked like a old midsize bentley or something to that effect. I was kinda sad that they did not continue that when the next generation (Y34) came out.

My idea is to use the current outer lenses as the new outer housings. I'd cut holes in them for the new lenses, sand the edges down and glass a ring so it looks like the older ones, paint them black, then install new flat lenses behind the housing with the projectors behind it. The inner housings will treated/painted chrome for a OEM look. To keep it cedglo and not bentley i'd fabricate a orange corners (for a OEM look, and cause I like orange corners on some cars, like my benz) for the turn signals. So i'd look something like:

OR

Idea 2: When I first saw the chrome Y34 headlights I thought it was the dopest thing I had ever seen. When I saw them upclose however I thought that there were kinda bland looking. Very bland actually and would not take to a projector conversion very easily. I like the Y34 headlights the US got, and they take projectors easy. What I would do is just simply put the projectors in and chrome treat/paint the inner housings.

What do you guys think? Dope chrome headlights or black custom dankness?

Since the Y34 does not have the 2 inner lights the same size, it may look a little funny. The Y33 Ced/Glo had symmetrical lights, then the outers in amber.

I think the chrome ones you are talking about are from the Cedric, which you will need to change the grill to fit.

I'm not going to be using the JDM headlights either way. I'd be chroming the US headlights that are in the car now because the inner housing looks a lot better then the bland chrome JDM headlights. You are right about the different sized circles though, I figured that would give it a updated look, and wouldn't look like I tried to copy the y33 cedglo

chrome on the usdm lights would look good. if you flat black it out it will most likely look ebay.

put some m35/45 projectors in the stock headlights and something else in the high beams and call it a day. IMO, the stock Y34 headlight housings are nice. They just needs projectors

How about more pics? Like which headlights you have now and what the ideas are so we don't have to try to imagine what you're saying...or maybe it's late, I'm tired, and it has caused me to get lazy...lol!

I'll do 2 mock ups to better explain. I want to make my own front bumper so I want to use the US headlights and grill. I like them a lot.

This is the headlights currently (aka stock)

I think it would look cool in chrome. I think. I'm not sure, because there's so much flat surface, it might look funny after all

^ Thanks. I'm actually getting rid of it I think i'm going to do something else.

I ended up switching up the color of the car so I think i'm going to do something completely different. Back to the drawing board...

^ Yes we are! I still have not seen another Y34 locally since I bought my car. My car is black for only a few more days though =)

I'm going to do a video DIY on how to take apart headlights and how to fab a badgeless grill whenever I get a video camera. I was working on a bunch of DIY's for VSC but I still don't have a video camera. A picture DIY would fall short and be confusing.
