it looks sick bro......nothing too special, i like your modest approach opsi.  congrats bro. you have got to be the first here state side to do this size with this offset on a rl.  to me thats all it was ever about.  to see the ka9 push limits , be suited with the right size wheels, and sit on them perfect.  its was argued by many if this size was right for the rl , as im sure it still will be.  it dosent look dub style to me like many here have suggested early in the game.  
 a nice subtle kit would set it off but it looks good without it too.  how many coils are left to turn down on the front and rear? 

 ive been wanting to see these exact wheels on a rl for awhile now.

Looks clean. Wheels are huge though. Slam it like this thing:

It rubs a tad on hard bumps but that's about it.  The front can go down about another half inch or so but the rear is as low as it will go.  Aero would be the next step but I am kinda cringing at dropping 4K anytime soon.  I am also interested in doing some interior work.  Just rewrapping the seats and possibly a suede headliner.

i think it looks nice, and like others said a kit would really set it off, props for doing you!!:biggthumpup:

Thank you sir.  That's all I try to do with any of my vehicles.  Just doing my own thing.  I don't claim VIP but I do like the style and want(ed) to add a few ques from the style.

I am seriously considering some aero but will need to get a daily grinder before I spend that much money on the exterior only to drive it everyday and mess it up.

They are a little on the big side but in person they don't look out of place.  I think the fact that the wheels are full faced make them appear larker than normal.  I'm not a big fan of large lips on the RL so that is why I chose these.  Maybe I will do some 19's with a lip next go round.

sweet wheels, it appears that your front cambers in more than you rear. Is that true or is the pic decieving? BTW thanks for the pics glad to see you stepping up your game.

If that is the case I will be adding a spacer to the rear.  And thanks for the compliments.  I'm trying just on a small budget.

Alright, alignment is done.  2.3 degrees of camber all around.  The rear needs spacers now also.  a 5mm should do the trick though.

Thanks guys.  I am still considering going with air but I really need to get a daily driver before I do that.  I have been considering selling it to pursue another project too but not too sure yet.  We will see.

I think the main problem with the RL is lack of power...

We just need to start getting some performance mods jumping off because i see alot of guys jumping to Q45s from RLs.  I'm a big KA9 guy, so I'm staying put with my 04, i hope you keep yours too 0psi...

Thanks man, I am seriously looking into an air setup now actually.  The car just isn't low enough to the ground but I do like the wheels so I want to keep them.  I may be interested in some aero as well but we will see.  It's far from being finished so more will come slowly but surely.  :)

i knew those 20's would have it sit too high compared to how low you used to ride.

Yeah, I like it in that chop but I want it to drive low as well.  At that height I am not turning at all.  It rubs right now when I turn.

i think, if you want to ride LOW low LOW...Go to 19s.

18s were REALLY small, but you had like 40 or 45 series tires on them didn't you?

if you went with the 19s with 35s, you probably would be at the same rolling diameter.=)

Looks like you got a whole bunch of tire on those too...what's the Aspect on those? 40s?

The tires now are 225/40/20 on a 9.5

For right now I am going to pick up a set of 18's I think then later down the road will grab a set of 19's when I am not daily driving the car anymore.  Once I get the 18's I think I am going to focus on air suspension.

sure, going back to 19's is the easy way to get you lower , but not really by much when you get down to the measurements.  when it comes to wheel sizes, getting low on this car really goes down to who has the balls to go with a good stretch and ride on a rubber band.  there are more 30 series tires available for 20 inch wheels than they are for 19's.  in some cases you can actually get more clearance out of a 20 inch wheel and tire combo than on a 19. personally, im threw with trying to make myself think that 19's are the best size for the rl.  for traditional style and being practical maybe so,  but since when has going hard on modding these kind of cars been practical.

 you not a puss man, atleast you tried it out. you will always get props from me for that. its not pratical for daily use, if i thought it would be, i would have tried it as well. so its just not in the cards for you right now. i feel you all the way.

i still have my 20's and they sit a half inch lower than my 19's. so when i hear the talk about sitting lower (roncee)lol, i know first hand that is not always the case.
 ive bought three sets of 19's for my ride when it was a daily and never really been happy with any of them.  its not a daily anymore , so i gotta think outside the box even more now.

i know i ramble on about this alot, but its like this. everytime i start to think that 19's are the perfect size, i grab this older vip magazine that has two featured rl's in it and fold the pages like this.

 dont get me wrong, the right 19's can be sick.  i just feel the right set of 20's  helps the ka9 not look so mid sized when it's parked next to all the other vip platforms.  the editors and photographers of the vip mags must have thought the same thing. cause i never saw the one on 19's on a double page spread like the one with 20's.

I like the look of the 20's but really need air to pull it off when it's parked.  That just isn't realistic for me at this moment though.  I honestly liked the size of the 18's I had before and think they looked great.  I am a fan of all three sizes really just depends on the wheels.
